Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
How to put my contacts from my Contacts book on Mac into the Htc One? I dont really need to sync anything because i rather drag an drop like i do with photos etc using AFT. Is there a way to do the same but with the vcards?

I've downloaded Android File Transfer, and deleted Kies (as I had read that I should do), but each time I try to connect the phone to the computer, I keep getting a message on the computer saying that the phone won't connect and I should try reconnecting or restarting. I've done both of these things, but I still haven't been able to connect successfully once.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from iPhone to a galaxy S5. I have a macbook pro that of course has my music in iTunes. I recently tried downloading the android file transfer but whenever it would try to open on the mac it told me it could not connect to my device and to try to restart it or reconnect it. Nothing I did has made a difference. The computer just won't connect to the phone it seems. Both my S5 and mac have the latest versions possible updated so that's not an issue. I'd really like to get more of my music on my S5 other than what I put on there right when I got the phone using SmartSwitch.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to sync her stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.
I have been using my Galaxy s6 to connect to my iMac for about a month. Recently every time I plug it in , it keeps giving me an "No android device found message" I have been doing a lot of researching and they where saying something about enabling MTP , but I couldn't even find that on my phone. The android version I am using is 5.0.2.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.

When I connect both via USB cables to my Windows desktop, selection of source files and destination folder is easy, but some glitch often prevents all of the files from being transferred. I think it may be a timing issue with the connection, SD cards, or problem in cabling. Sometimes, Windows will not recognize both devices.
When I try to use Samsung SmartSwitch or SideSync with USB connected devices, I have a difficult time selecting the source files and target destination folder.
Using NFC doesn't seem to allow me to make the source file or destination folder selection I want. The file selection process seems to be "dumbed-down" based on standard file content type (music, video, pictures, documents, etc) and conventional destination locations in the device file structure rather than on the SD card.

what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
My S6 will not stay connected to my PC so I can transfer files, use Kies, SmartSwitch, or anything. Sometimes I hear the Windows notification that it's plugged in, but even when I do, it goes back and forth between being recognized and not. Most of the time it doesn't even show up in Device Manager.
I'm currently running Windows 10, but it did the same thing on Windows 8.1. I have downloaded the Samsung USB drivers as well as allowed Kies and SmartSwitch to install them.
Thinking my Windows 10 being upgraded from 8.1 without a full wipe carried over whatever problem was in 8.1, I did a full wipe of my PC and reloaded Windows 10 clean. That also didn't work.
When I first installed Windows 10 clean, my PC didn't recognize my phone at all. It just acted like a charger. After I installed the Samsung USB drivers, it started making the 'connecting' and 'disconnecting' sounds. Also, the most I got Windows to recognize my phone was for about 5 seconds, and that was right after turning off USB debugging. But with it on or off, it still won't stay connected.
And yes, I've made sure (when the phone has connected for a second or two) that it was on MTP. But... I've tried the camera mode as well.
This makes it not only impossible to move files easily between my phone and PC, but also to use Odin.
I've read many posts where people have this problem, but everyone just tells them to go download the Samsung USB driver, and after having done so three different ways, I can say it doesn't work for me.
So today i went back to stock htc sense software after running a test with different custom roms. Well now when i plug up to the usb android file transfer no longer opens. Im not sure why this is happening. Now i cant transfer photos an videos like i was once doing. Before kitkat 4.4.2 (at&t) it was working perfectly but now nothing opens up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them
2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue
3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back.
4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.

I have been using my ray for 6 months. Today I observed that all the files were invisible on my computer, eventhough SD card was full. My phone was connected by usb I run Sony PC Companion, windows explorer started and it was writen that SD Card 708MB Free and 3.65GB full, but I double clicked SD card and there was only two files; "customized-capability" and "default-capability".
