I have a Nexus 5, I removed the stock email app.
Now I need to use the stock email that comes with the device for work, but I can't seem to find it in the play store. Maybe I'm searching under the wrong name, but how I can get the stock email app back onto my device? Is the stock email even in the play store? If it's not in the play store, any good email app for businesses that uses exchange?
I bought a 2nd hand nexus 5, its rooted with a custom rom. I am wondering whats the easiest way to flash back to stock rom ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
It's a couple of days my phone doesn't sync and download new emails. I switched to Aquamail and it's working. I can't understand what happened to the stock email app

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy Nexus 5 has recently run into a problem where it suddenly decided to get stuck in a bootloop. I figured I could just reflash the stock rom via the boot loader with the wugfresh root toolkit but that unfortunately didn't work. But by doing this I noticed that my bootloader was not staying unlocked when I try to unlock it. Every time I unlock the boot loader and it restarts the bootloader automatically re-locks. I then proceeded to try and manually flashing the stock rom files individually and unlocking the bootloader each time I flash a file which was really annoying. It still hasn't worked and I'm starting to get worried because I've also started to notice my recovery can't really factory reset or wipe the cache. Instead I get this message at the bottom of the screen:

E:Can't open /ache/recovery/log

I've been looking around, but I can't find anything to suggest root is available on the stock kernel. CF-Autoroot doesn't work for 6.0, and so far all I've found is root for custom kernels but I want all stock.

I would like to completely revert back to android 5.0.1 because I loved it. I completely wiped the device before installing Rastapop, so I cannot simply "factory reset" my device.
I can completely handle the flashing process due to the fact that I am an experienced programer. All I need from you is the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 ROM, and the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 GAPPS (Google Apps).
After OTA update device got stuck on Google logo and somehow recovery is missing, Android on it's back with red triangle. Is there way to fix it with locked bootloader ?

Been having this error on/off for a month now. Sometimes it works on wi-fi but not on cell, most of the times not at all.
Right now at home I can play from my other devices (win7-pc, chromecast, Nexus10) without problems. I can browse music fine on the phone and play moview works fine - so the account is not the problem.
All hits I've had searching gave just different settings to try with caching, dl'ing etc. They are to no avail. Tried all combinations.
I flashed a custom ROM to my nexus 5 and was using it for the last few months. But today, I decided to rollback to latest stock ROM. And I double clicked "flash-all.sh" and it failed after few seconds. I could not see what happened so I again ran the executable under terminal and seen it failed again. I just remmebered that I hadn't unlocked the bootloader before running the script. Now, the phone is not turning on at all. It only vibrates if I hold the power button for some seconds, 6 seconds actually and if I hold the button for longer times, it keeps vibrating every 6 seconds.
I am not even getting the Google logo thing.

Currently flashing back to stock with the steps given by Heisenberg's step by step guide, number 11, how to flash the factory image.
At the command fastboot flash system C:anglerimagessystem.img and it has sat here for over an hour and a half now with the output of writing 'system'. If I'm not mistaken, my phone is basically bricked at this point, as all I have written to the phone right now is recovery and bootloader really, and since I flashed the stock bootloader that means it is relocked.
Is there any way I can unlock it from here and then flash TWRP again, and then restore one of my backups of my 6P to at least get it working again?
I am on Ex Kernel, and I want to go stock again, and how can I control the focus of the camera? Its really hard to focus something small, the camera focuses the background only in some photos...

For the past few days, I've noticed the phone discharge battery very fast. I get only around 3 hrs of SOT. Used to get 4.5 hrs till 4 days back. Today when I touched the phone while charging it, it was too hot to touch and even the screen was hot. I took it off the charger and switched the phone off.
Is there something to be concerned about here? Is there anything that I can check on the phone? Been running stock Marshmallow, an update I received OTA.
Or am I just missing it? I just want to see my fb friends' profile pics pulled into the Contacts app, like with every other Android phone I've had...

I'm missing something but since my Lollipop upgrade, the stock camera app will capture pics but won't let me review them. After I snap a picture, I have to leave the camera app then open the "Photos" app to review them.

I've spent hours looking for information on manually flashing the stock recovery without the tool kit but have found the instructions very vauge. Any information on flashing manually only the recovery would be very useful or information on why I may be having this issue.
I know every time i flash a rom it only shows about half of my internal storage. I have a 32gb version. So I end up having to go into a recovery "temp flashed" using the tool kit in order to clear some information and then i get my 32gb's back.
I"m wondering if the space being auto allocated or partitioned is interfering with the flash of the recovery..

When i rebooted i noticed that everything was fine but i had paranoid android rather than stock rom! What happened?
I would like to completely purge all leftovers files from when I rooted my Nexus 5.
I tried something with another device I own - the Nexus 7 2012 - and that was using TWRP and remove all the files from "/". Of course, it would fail to remove everything (permissions?) and cause the device to freeze, but forcing reboot would allow to enter bootloader and flash everything fresh and lock the bootloader (I used Nexus Root Toolkit). It has not caused any obvious problems.
I was wondering what the best way would be to completely start fresh on my Nexus 5 while getting rid of all leftover files.
I desperately need more storage on this phone.. The only way I have found to gain extra storage is to have root and use StickMount. I have a lot of info and game saves that I don't want to lose to a data wipe though. Is there a safe root method on stock 5.1.1 that doesn't wipe data?
