BB Curve :: Unable To Restore Contacts And Duplication?
Sep 5, 2011
I have a BB 8900 Curve. i am not able to synconice my contact with my laptop Microsoft Outlook. previously i used to do it but now it shows me error. And secondly there are duplication in my Black Bery Contacts and i am also loosing some contacts atomatically
i recently have updated the latest OS (v5) on my blackberry curve 8520, i created a backup file before doing so but now when i open desktop manager and try and restore, the button is greyed out, i cannot restore using my old file ive lost all my contacts aswell
I just got a new phone because I lost my old one and I've been trying to restore my bb messenger contacts through the email option which I had done before with other blackberrys and had worked perfectly. This time, when I click on the option to restore it says that they have to send an email to verify that my email account is valid, I click ok and then it says that my email account (which is working perfectly on the phone) is invalid and they were unable to send a verification email and to check if the account is valid and try again later. I have been doing this for two days and nothing has changed.
I am switching from an old Blackberry Torch to a new Blackberry Torch, (same model), I backed up the old phone and I tried restoring the contacts onto the new phone but everything else like old texts, emails, etc are being restored EXCEPT the contacts;
I backed up content using the backup/restore app that came with the phone, and i spoke to someone at o2 who said if i did that, i would be able to restore my texts and contacts (main things i care about atm) onto HTC Desire S, using that back up which i saved to my sd card. I have just given the x10 to a courier who has taken it away, and just tried to work out how to restore back onto the Desire, and now i'm starting to realise it may not actually work that way
I updated my Xperia X10 to 2.1 today. I backed up my contacts, messages, call logs everything. When the phone was updated and I restored everything contacts are missing all the rest are there.A little background to know. For some reason Xperia X10 cannot read my SIM contacts from the day I bought it when we were on 1.6 so I decided to create an CSV file to add them to the mobile memory not to the SIM.So now what? The restore is sending the contacts again to SIM that's why I cannot see them?
I lost my bb 9800, i think i have data somewhere on bb server because when i login on BB protect website i can see that in archived back up details but i'm unable to restore it. And when i try to restore on my new 9810 it says "This data is already wirelessely synchronized with a remote service and cannot be restored by blackberry protect" only for contacts. And i've archived the device by mistake n now it shows "Remote admin commands are not available on archived devices".
Why can I not restore my contacts and photos from my PC's backup? I backed up my iphone 3Gs to my desk top PC. When I try to restore from Backup on to my iphone 4s I can not get my contacts and photos back. Itunes keeps telling me my backup password is incorrect.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, I can only recover my apps.

i have a BB9780 phone. i am trying to restore the address book using desktop manage. But only email ids are getting restored. I have a [URL] email id and gmail id and on this phone. under select address book option i find option to select address book of [URL]. not a single phone number is getting copied
restore a friend's blackberry messenger contact list? I was using a blackberry curve 8530 in the states and I just returned from the states to Africa. Before I left, my gave my bb 8530 to a friend. When I got to Ghana, I mistakenly restored my contact list using email, so it automatically removed my friend's bbm data and now she has lost her contacts.Initially, her bbm contacts appeared on my blackberry messenger contacts so I decided to back up my files remotely. Nothing happened and I later backed up locally using my saved back up list for last month then it was restored. This morning, I got a few bbm request that were her contacts.
Just upgraded to 6.0 for device last night. Backed up all data. When data restored, everything restored except the contact list. I tried restoring address book 4 times after initial restore. Desktop restore show over 900 records but none of them will move over.
I have to hand them in my Blackberry Bold 9000. Getting a Blackberry Curve 8520 tomorrow. Can I restore my contacts etc. on the Curve 8520? I've backed them up to my laptop with Blackberry Desktop Manager.
I recently got my BB 9300 serviced, the BB guys replaced the entire hardware...so I believe the phone is is as good as new. However, when i connect the phone & sync with the BB desktop software, its recoginses the device as new & hence not all my contacts are available for use.
I had a problem with my blackberry 8520 smartphone and now nobody can fix it.It was working fine as always, when on day it asked me, by app world, to update the "foursquare" app.
I recently upgraded from 8830 to Curve 8530 using Device switch wizard. The third party applications were transferred to the new device but I had to manually restore the Address Book. However, I'm unable to restore the Memo Pad and Password Keeper as both the files are greyed out on the Desktop side of the Desktop Manager Window.I need help in getting both the Applications as I have lots of data stored in them.
When i take a photo on iphone and then sync with iMac, iPhoto will open and ask to import the photo, which is working as it should. But next time I connect up, it asks to import the photo again. Basically is always asks to import the whole camera role every time. Is there a way to stop this? (note: I don't use iCloud, as OS is too old).
I have a Nokia E7-00 which I recently updated the software to Symbian Belle (which I totally like btw). I downloaded the microsoft package as well. I now have a challenge when I sync my phone to my calendar because somehow I end up having duplicate entries of events. The entries show up on my microsoft exchange calendar and on my personal calendar as well.
I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I use Google calendar as my default and have only ever synced this calendar with my Storm. I use Google Sync, and have all the settings set so that it SHOULD only show these calendar items. While I had issues before with GoogleSync duplicating Contacts, that seems to have been resolved (with the help of folks here) and I've never had such a problem with the Calendar.
Anyway, a few days ago I started noticing that all my calendar entries are being duplicated. Clicking around, in the menu I found that I now have the option of selecting among 4 calendars associated with the 4 email accounts I have syncing with my Storm (I don't recall seeing this beforel) I've tried moving the selection from "Show All Calendars" to only showing my Google calendar, which works for the moment, but as soon as I leave the calendar then go back in the duplications appear again.
But, here's the odd thing: the duplicate entries are showing up as being from one of my 3 Yahoo email accounts. The thing is, though, I don't use that calendar for anything and have confirmed that there are absolutely no entries in the calendar for this particular Yahoo account. I've also confirmed that I do not have duplicate entries in my Google calendar.
I've clicked around all the options and settings I can think of, searched help and here and I'm coming up blank.
I am unable to add New Contacts; when I click on New Contact or Add to Contacts after getting calls; nothing works so I rebooted device, removed battery, reloaded os but issue is remains same. it was working before without any issue but some reason it stopped.
I just got a new blackberry curve 9360 today and i can't add contacts to bbm. I add a pin or scan a barcode and it says authorization pending on my phone but the other person doesnt get a message to accept my request. Also, if someone adds my pin or scans my barcode it does the same to their phone; says authorization pending and i don't get a message to accept their request.
8900 its his personal phone and he's on o2 simplicity. About a month ago he was unable to add contacts, he took out battery whist bb was switched on and this did not work. He backed up the phone and then deleted all contacts, still did not work. Took it into a phone shop in town they said it was a software prop kept it a day and it worked perfect. Week later same thing happened. He took it back and they did the same and 2 days later its back to not being able to add contacts.
