i have just bought a Nokia N8 and i have a flashing message icon in the top right of the screen yet i have no messages left on the handset.
P.S. Is there an easy way of connecting to new wifi networks without having to go through the connectivity window
There is a message icon on top right of screen blinking, it is so irritating. I have tired every single way for removing it but all in vain, i even tried resetting the factory setting i dunt know where it came from, emptying inbox outbox everything but nothing works. Any body knows about dis issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just got a Nokia E72 and have managed to self teach how to operate all the functions I can see needing, ( no thanks to the paper manual the phone came with). Unfortunately from day 1 there has been a black + white envelope icon flashing at the very bottom of the screen. It can't be reached by the navigator and I have no unread messages nor are the message boxes full.
I have read the manual cover to cover and pressed every help button in the phone to no avail. how to stop this flashing icon as it is starting to drive me crazy. Other than that it seems like a really good phone.
I do not know what it means or how to stop it flashing. its the tiny one at bottom of screen. a text message appears above it so is not that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently got the excellent E72, so I unlocked my old 5800 xpress music so my wife could have a decent phone (it was on T mobile she is on Orange), everything works fine however I have a flashing envelope icon in the top right hand corner, when I touch this it says "sim memory full", I have deleted all the contacts etc from the sim and moved them to the phone memory but it still persists, can anyone tell me how to stop this ?, its not a major problem but I'd like to stop it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use E66 and E52 phones. When I receive a new message, notification light starts flashing on both phones. It is OK. But... I often use Nokia PC Suite for managing my messages. When I read all new messages on E66, notification light automatically changes its self from flashing mode to "breathing". It's fine. But it doesn't work on my E52. When I read all new messages, notification light is still flashing (no "breathing"!) on E52. I read manual and I know that it is necessary to use my phone directly to stop flashing. Why (if all messages has been read)? I think, it correct works on E66. What is the problem? I use latest version of firmware and Nokia PC Suite (not OVI Suite!). I contacted Nokia HelpDesk, but they told me something like "it is not a bug, it is a feature".

- A second problem is the SMS notification, that appears as a wild sequence of TV commercials would do during your favorite tv show : very annoying, whatever the circumstances. The popup forbids me to do anything quietly and peacefully, i'm interrupted and have to click on it in order to make it disappear. (I don't care if Mr X is harassing me while i'm browsing the web)

I able to hide that number (icon) on display that doesnt show me what line i use e.g 1 or 2.I didnt have this issue on Anna it appears now when i updated to Belle.So can someone tell me can i hide it or turn off that doesnt show me "what line i use" and its appears when i call someone or someone call me "name of caller and Line 1"

I have completely lost GPS functionallity. Recently before a couple of days ago the GPS lock was playing up a bit (failed to lock a GPS signal, but GPS icon was visible). Then a couple of days ago I was unable to get a GPS lock at all and the GPS icon failed to show. View 4 Replies View RelatedIm getting this problem since 2 days now. When I send a text message to anyone, I get an error saying ''Messaging: Feature Not Supported". After quite a few attempts the message finally is sent but I dont receive any delivery report even though I have enabled that option. And when I check the sent items or conversations, the recipient is totally someone else! I tried soft reset and the problem solved. But now it came up again. Soft resetting my phone every day is not an option.

The phone number is displayed instead without the + sign but with the country code. I have checked that it is not stored as duplicate and its stored in the international format i.e. with the + sign and the country code. Also, only the options of Forward and Delete appear for such messages i.e. i am not able to Reply to the message. The point to be noted is that the name is displayed correctly when there is a incoming call from such a number. I had recently updated my firmware to latest version available with Nokia. I guess the problem has appeared after that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have about 5500 messages on my N97 and want to transfer them to N8 but when it try the phone switch and transfer them with Bluetooth it literally takes for ever, last time I tried it transferred like 30 in 5 minutes, is there anyway I can make it go faster? Also tried to backup my messages on Ovi suit and PC suite, well on PC suit it gives me an error saying there is not enough memory(On the PC suite application on my computer) and it backs it up short, only 1000 I think and in OVI suit, I backed it up fine but when tried to restore, it did it and took some time but nothing happened, number of txt messages didn't change.

I have Nokia N97 Mini handset and I am facing problem in it with Battery Low error message, when ever I call someone or I receive any call.Battery works fine in case of standby mode, or even when I do SMS chat for whole day. Even if I listen to music for 10 to 12 hrs, the mobile works fine, no issue of battery low. But during that if I receive any call, then suddenly it displays the battery low error message and the mobile is switched off.I try to check everything of it. The mobile functions normal and in good condition in following cases
1. Wife Connectivity
2. Bluetooth data transfer
3. Sms chat for lets say 12 to 14 hrs.
4. Video play for 2 hrs.
5. Music plays for 10 to 12 hrs.
6. Clicking photos or recording Videos.
7. Browsing internet.
But it only falls down in case of Call. Either I receive call or make a call. I don't know how to Rectify this problem. I had once shown to Nokia customer care, but even after that the problem still remains.I even try factory restore settings and hard format of OS. But still no improvements.
I just bought a N8 and have a little problem with a message. As I did not have a proper connection when I sent it the message went to the outbox. Now its stuck there.Its not sent and I can't delete it. In 'Google' I was reading that older Nokia phones had also this problem. But the N8 is brand new, so how can this happen ? Will Nokia make an update any time soon or have you folks an other solution for me ?
