Nov 1, 2010i have just bought a Nokia N8 and i have a flashing message icon in the top right of the screen yet i have no messages left on the handset.
P.S. Is there an easy way of connecting to new wifi networks without having to go through the connectivity window

Feb 8, 2012After the Belle update, all my sms-messages were deleted. So i got them back by restoring them from the back up i made before updating. Now they are not displayed in the right order, by date. Instead, first i get the mms messages, then when I scroll up I get all my sent messages to that contact, en even more up all the received messages. So it's not a conversation anymore. Within the "sent" and "received" messages groups they are ordered by date and time. How can i fix this so i can see the actual conversation again, with alternating sent and received messages? The mms messages also have the time and date from restoring from the back up, the regular sms-messages still have the original time and date correctly.

Oct 17, 2010I've had this 5800 XpressMusic phone for almost a year now and have really never had any complaints. Up until today. I sent an SMS to someone earlier today and when I went into my inbox to check another message the phone popped up an error. It told me it could not access the memory and would save SMS to phone memory from now on. I had previously set it to save all SMS to the micro SD card. When I went to the "Settings" to change it back to saving everything to the SD card, it didn't work.
As soon as it was set back to "memory card", my inbox showed up as empty. All my messages are gone. Is there a way to get these messages back? I've tried restarting the phone, removing the memory card and reinserting it, using PC Suite to access the messages, but so far nothing has worked. The only thing that appears to be gone are the sent and received text messages. Everything else still seems to be intact on the micro SD card.

Oct 27, 2011I upgraded my N8 to Anna. Could not do the 1/2, everything else worked fine. Finally got the 1/2 to work, ever since had nothing but problems. Whenever I start the phone I get 3 or 4 system error messages. After hitting ok, I can access most of my phone. I cannot access my contacts from the home screen. I can only go into the call screen, which does not allow me to add a new contact or edit. I have tried both the hard and soft reboots and tried to re-install but it has only gotten worse. Mar 16, 2012I've been using my N8 with my virgin mail account happily for about a year. Recently I've found that outgoing messages are getting stuck in the outbox. They sometimes send (several days later) after I have restarted my phone. I thought I would try removing the mail box and starting again, after a couple of attempts the mail box was removed, but when I tried to set it up again.
It seemed to hang in the middle of the task and I ended up with a mail box with a string of hexadecimal numbers as the mailbox name. Now I cannot remove it : whenever I try to remove it, I get as far as 'removing mailbox' and then it just hangs there (have left it overnight). Possibly related, I have had a couple of messages recently about phone memory being full, but if i look at it through file manager it has 116MB free, and nothing in there which looks like it could obviously be removed.
