So I got a new sim card for my phone, all my contacts are still there, and if I click on "To:" in messages, I can go into contacts and select someone, but in my messages, no names show up. It's just everybody's numbers.
View 1 RepliesI have 4 contacts on my contacts bar. When I click one of the pix, I get a list of all the events relating to that contact - great, that's as it should be. But when I click on one of the other three, there are no events shown - the message is "(no communication events)". But I know there should be some, because I remember calling them yesterday and if I check the call log I can see the call there. If I then do something with one of the three (send a text or call them), then as if by magic the missing lists of events appear. It's always the same one that's complete initially, and always the same three that seem to need a reminder to behave themselves.if there's anything I can do to get all comms events showing all the time?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my N8 to Anna. Could not do the 1/2, everything else worked fine. Finally got the 1/2 to work, ever since had nothing but problems. Whenever I start the phone I get 3 or 4 system error messages. After hitting ok, I can access most of my phone. I cannot access my contacts from the home screen. I can only go into the call screen, which does not allow me to add a new contact or edit. I have tried both the hard and soft reboots and tried to re-install but it has only gotten worse. I kinda need to access my contacts for work.

At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.
I need some to free some of my phone memory. I have mass memory and a memory card, that I can transfer to, but I am not sure how to do this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy C: memory is showing as full when I try to clear it through the phone file manager despite looking through all folders I cannot identify any large files on it and the same is the case when I try to look through my pc software.
When I hold on the C: memory and look at the memory details it shows 131mb of messages even though I have deleted all txt messages and emails, 46mb of SIS applications I can't see these in the file manager and 72mb of other files which I assume are the OS files.
I bought this phone on the 16th of feb but now mass storage is gone not showing anymore not even on PC... i did everything like installing latest software, restore, delete data and restore and hard reset but still not detecing mass storage.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI synced my N8 with windows media player after the anna update but couldn't see any pictures in the photo app. Pictures are already on the device inside "pictures" (not "images") folder in E: drive. After playing a bit, i figured out that photos app only read the pictures inside "images" folder of E: drive. Is there any possible way to make photo app read files in the "pictures" folder or make Windows Media Player sync with the "images" folder instead of "pictures" folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy gf 701 was freezing terribly, first she told me that the hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning just the touchscreen and the power button,this happens to my n8 sometimes, i usually restart it and its back on track, i did 2 backups (one full backup & other without phone settings and apps but everything else) with Nokia Suite ,i did soft reset ,when restarted ,same thing, hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning ,then tried hard reset, after hard reset, it acts like it's now booting up showing the dots, but soon after just shows black screen, when connected to Nokia Suite it doesn't recognise the phone, is there any way i can fix this by loading back firmware? if so what program should i use?
View 2 Replies View RelatedN8 is showing signs of having problems. It suddenly stopped saving photos so I lost a load without realizing it. I rebooted it with a hold on the power button. It still crashes when I get a sms, the touch screen is unresponsive quite a lot and randomly. I tried resetting it to factory but that has made it even worse as the stupid gps thing keeps starting up all the time and Purple tinged screen is also back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy mass memory is showing that it is in use even when it is not connected to any device or gadget, It all happened when I formatted my Mass Memory via PC in mass storage mode !!Format was successful but when I ejected 701 from PC the Default file manager was still showing that the mass memory is in Use. View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a partial restore using the Nokia Suite, selecting only the "Device settings an applications" content (I wanted to restore a theme that I wasn't able to download again without purchasing a second time). The restoral was successful and I have the theme back. The problem is that several other themes that I no longer want were also put back on my N8. I go to Settings>Application manager>Installed apps, however none of the restored themes are listed (they are all taking up Device Memory). how I can delete these items from my phone and thus free up the memory they are occupying?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the Belle update, whenever I take a picture I am able to view it in the phone, but when I connect to a PC to transfer the picture in Mass Storage, the pictures are not there. I've looked in both the Mass Memory and Phone Memory folders. I've checked to see if the photo has a saved file name which it does. It finds them in Ovi Suite but I much prefer to use Mass Storage, it's so much easier and quicker to use.

On a closer look, I discovered that a few of the messages are "mixed up" with other messages.For example, let's take the two messages:
"Hello, how are you? Hope you are fine?"
"Where are you, and when will you be coming?"
In PC suite, the two messages sometimes are merged together as one message in a jumbled manner like this "Hello, hoWhere are you, an w are you? Hope you are fine? d when will you be coming?"However, they will be visible as "normal" in the phone inbox when I check in the phone screen.This issue happens on PC suite in both Nokia 2330 and 2730 in both inbox and sent items. I uninstalled PC suite, cleaned out my system registry and reinstalled PC suite, but the same problem occurs.Any ideas on why this issue is happening?
iam facing this problem of my e52 not showing contacts names in inbox.Some of the contacts name are shown, those which was originally in my phone memory.because i do a lot of trading, i constantly adds new numbers to my contacts from the sms they sent. I have a Lumia 800 and have discovered a bug where the recipient name is wrong if contacts have very similar phone numbers. Example:
I have two contacts with the following phone numbers
Contact 1. - 0703 246 802
Contact 2. - 0705 246 802
Note that the only thing differing the contacts is 0703 from 0705.
Regardless of whom of these two I send a text message they always show as being sent to Contact 1. This includes any History as well, they are all grouped into Contact 1 regardless of to which phone number I send the text message to. This is very annoying and it makes it impossible to see who actually had the message sent to when looking back at the history. I have tried moving the numbers around to different contact categories, changing contact name and so on, but it has made no difference to the behavior.
I'am using nokia 5233. I had this problem for 3 or 4 times my mobile shows disk error can't complete read or write data. Then I can't open memory card and can't format it in 5233 I formated it in nokia 2700 then it works why is this happening? and what can i do for it?
