Oct 23, 2011When my N8 has been in standby mode it has always shown the time. Today it has decided to show a blank screen. How can I get the time back?

May 30, 2010I recently purchased a Nokia 5130 from a TMobile store, and since I have started using it, I noticed that whenever I activate keyguard and wait for a little bit, the phone screen turns blank and would not show anything at all (I am used to S40 and S60 phones showing a bar with the time and date, the number of unread messages and missed calls showing everytime they are on standby). However, I also noticed that whenever I unlock the keypad and the backlight shows back up, the bar is actually there before it fades away and returns back to the home screen. Could it be that the screen is actually turning itself off whenever it's on keyguard standby?

Apr 18, 2012I have an iPhone 4S and I charged my phone last night and unplugged it once it got to 100% then left it overnight for standby, it was around 98% and when I woke up, it dropped 20% down to 78%. when i checked my usage, my usage and standby times were exactly the same at 7 hours and 23 minutes. I powered off my phone and turned it back on, and it resumed as normally with the standby time usually being higher than usage.

May 10, 2012I have problems with my iphone 3gs running on ios5.0.1, the battery usage and standby time are always equal. And it drains my battery way too fast, I disabled all the settings on my device, I also removed tweaks from cydia that for me causes the problem. The tweaks I have left are: SBrotator 5, zyphere, killbackground, nowplaying, activator, gravi board. But all of the tweaks that I mentioned are all disabled!

Nov 6, 2015I recently got a S6 and copied my S5 onto it. I haven't switched yet as I enjoy my S5 because of the screen, replaceable battery and SD slot. So I'm only playing around with the S6 at home.
I didn't use it for a day after charging it full and was very surprised when it started beeping about the battery after only 33 hours.
I have a iPhone 6 that I use only at home for different things I need iOS for and I get at least 72 hours out of that one.
Does it sound like normal battery use? No SIM only WiFi.

Jun 11, 2012In Settings/Usage the battery usage for Useage and standby are the same. This means the phone never goes into standby mode and reduces the battery time. I tried a resore in iTunes.

Mar 14, 2010My iPhone 3GS is set to change time automatically with the Daylight Savings change. That worked as the phone time itself is correct, but the times for the different places in the built-in World Clock app are still off by an hour (they are on the old time). This is also true of my husband's iPhone 3G. Strangely, I have an iPod touch that adjusted both its system time and the World Clock times without difficulty.
I have tried syncing the phone, toggling on/off the update time automatically, and rebooting, but the time is still incorrect. If I try adding a new place, it will also have the wrong time.
There may also be an issue with other apps - the ESPN app had the start time of a game today off by an hour as well.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
Edit: To clarify, the times are wrong for US cities that do observe DST, such as New York, Chicago, etc.
Nokia :: 5230 - Battery - GPS Is Useless - Clock Is Not Showing The Right Time
Mar 15, 2010I'm about to loose hope on my Nokia 5230. The first was the battery problem. It was empty in a day and a half on very moderate use (swiched off during the night). When I recalibrated the battery the things got better but still far away from the specs on Nokia site. And yes; I have tried all the tricks to save the energy (GSM only, 30% screen brightness, no bluetooth,....).
The second I discovered, that the GPS is basicly useless. It wont lock on the sattelites no matter what.The GPS was one of the main reasons to buy 5230. If someone got lucky to find some sattelites - how good is the accuracy? Is in the range of 6 meters or less as with Garmin?
Now I have discovered, that the clock is not showing the right time. It is loosing minutes as someone said to it that one hour has only 59 or 58 minutes. I still have to discover the logic how the clock is counting minutes. I have tried with and without automatic time update. By the way; the phone has the last firmware.
So if the clock is useless then the alarm is useless and I can't use it on my buisness trips.
Is there anyone else with the same problems? Is there any solution to this clock problem? Some settings I've missed?
Someone would say; for the price everything can not be perfect.
So, is this the logic (Nokia logic):
-we will put in the GPS, but because of a low price it won't find some sattelites
-we will put the battery in the phone but because of the low price it won't last more than two days
-the phone will have the clock but because of the low price it will not show the right time

The gtalk remains online while i am using xoom but then after standby time my status goes to idle for the friends in my contact list and if they send me any message in this state I cant receive them and if they try to call me then the caller party hears the bell that as if it should be while someone calls on gtalk but i cant get the notification of call or any ring. Why Gtalk cant get calls on my xoom although it seems online to others in standby mode......is it some bug in android?

Jul 13, 2011When I look at the battery usage the one thing that stands out is that the highest percentage of battery usage is "CELL STANDBY". This just should not be!The top of the list should be "Phone Idle" if the phone is not in use. I basicly left the phone unused today. Pulled it off the charger at 9am. Phone network set to CDMA only. WiFi off, GPS off, Bluetooth off. By 10pm my battery was down to 30% with 60% used by Cell Standby. In reading other forums, this seems to be the norm for this phone. But that doesnt make it acceptable. I have run the *228 option 2 from Verizon to update cell tower info. And my service is very good. Pretty much always 4 bars and never a dropped call.

Oct 6, 2011I've been using my Nokia C5-00 for about a year now without any problems. Recently however, it started to show wrong time (like it was going too fast). The offset is usually about 15-30 minutes forward. Initially I thought that its just few seconds per minute faster than it should be (like a normal mechanism watch) and I tried to explain it with processor clock being somehow off, but I noticed that it must at one point just skip these several minutes.
I've never spotted this "skipping" explicitly but it happens once per 10-15 hours, I guess. E.g. it shows proper time the whole day and when I go to sleep but next morning its off several minutes. It happens both with automatic time update On and Off. I haven't updated my software for a couple of months now, but the one I got is up to date (according to Ovi).

At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.

Nov 9, 2012The flash light on my 808 goes on on its own frm time to time. Mainly it happens during SMS arrival. It goes on and stays on untill I switch it off by pushing slider down for few seconds. Accidental pressing of slider is excluded as it happens even when phone is laying on my desc. When I notice this I switch it off but it happened few times in the pocket and flash is draining battery.I just send few SMS and observe that flash goes on for a moment but switches off. I wander if flash is somehow related to notification of SMS or other messages?
