my nokia 5800 has been weird for some time now ..it restarts itself every now and then it has like vertical grey and black lines ..and red and black horizontal lines other times ..now it just restarted itself and i found NO MESSAGES anymore .. all my files were gone it was overloaded with +1000 inboxes and sent items ..but how come i get to lose them in a glance?
View 2 RepliesI've had this 5800 XpressMusic phone for almost a year now and have really never had any complaints. Up until today. I sent an SMS to someone earlier today and when I went into my inbox to check another message the phone popped up an error. It told me it could not access the memory and would save SMS to phone memory from now on. I had previously set it to save all SMS to the micro SD card. When I went to the "Settings" to change it back to saving everything to the SD card, it didn't work.
As soon as it was set back to "memory card", my inbox showed up as empty. All my messages are gone. Is there a way to get these messages back? I've tried restarting the phone, removing the memory card and reinserting it, using PC Suite to access the messages, but so far nothing has worked. The only thing that appears to be gone are the sent and received text messages. Everything else still seems to be intact on the micro SD card.
I updated my Nokia 5800 to v 60.0.0.3 using nokia suite. Earlier I had version 52.0.0.7. After updating, the screen on my PC said "your device will restart" But it never did. Now when I press power button, I get a short vibration. That's all. No display or light or sound.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently developed a problem with my 5800. I can't read new texts. I can see them in the preview, but when I click on them to open the full text message, nothing happens. My text messages are set up to be saved to my sd card. In addition to this problem, I can't read my emails either, only the preview. I have done a hard reset, and the problem is still present.

Now, suddenly, some of my messages have disappeared and the default memory location has become the phone again.Now, if I try to select memory card from the messages settings, the application crashes and I'm sent back to the home screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried a lot of methods to solve this problem (restart, reflash, hard and soft reset, run it without memory card, put papers near the battery, changed some settings..) - anything doesn't work for me. I know that on net are a lot of topics like this one, but i think i tried all recommended solutions to solve it.. I updated my 5800XM to v50 firmware, after it was done, i started it and i enjoyed the KS, music player etc.. But after a while (like 3-4mins) my phone restarts (restart without needed to insert PIN code). I said, it's ok. But now it restarts every 3-4 mins. I found the solution - when the screen is not lighting (sleeping), it wouldn't restart. But i need to work with it, so this is useless.. Any help please?

Yesterday i started using it with my sim card and it kept restarting itself. My version is v50 and i have already tried hard and soft reset. Also no problem with memory card. I tried my friends sim on my phone and still same problem.my apps are from ovi store . On offline mode it works fine but when i start to use sim card it reboots in 3 minutes. Any ideas before a nokia care center?

It really is not.Consider that as I type this text from my n8, the browser has freezed twice, the phone has rebooted once. But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem

I'm running the app with a red @ as icon, which was proposed by the device once started up.Please don't tell me to update the software, set the notification as visible, doing a hard reset, as I already did it all this stuff.I read somewhere to delete the file C:private10202be9persist which can be found by using X-plore. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have lost all the photos and vidoes on my 5800. I did not delete them or edit or do anything with them. One day I was looking at them and then the next day when I wanted to access them they were all gone.
Not long after it happened I did a back up and updated the firmware to v50. Everything else works fine.
They seem to be still on my phone as the images I have downloaded from ovistore wont re download but I can make them wallpaper through ovistore. And when I access my photos and videos through my computer they are still there. I just can not get to them on my phone.
Went to select menu and then played with the organise in options and have now lost my apps icon cant get to anything apart from things in menu and the settings has dissapeared as well. So reset with *#7780# and no different.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a used 5800, and yes, it is a old, 2,5 year old phone with latest software, works good. Only problem is that the vibration doesnt work. No matter is it on or off on profiles, it doesnt vibrate. And it doesnt vibrate even when i turn phone on, like my old 5230 did always vibrate when it boots up, my 5800 doesnt. What is wrong, why vibration doesnt work when someone calls or sends message, or not even vibrating in boot up, boots normally, no vibration.. Is the vibration function broken?
And my model is 5800d-1, is other models always too 5800d-1, or is my different and if yes, what is difference to other 5800's? This is a 2,5 year old Black and Red 5800. Using 52.0.007 firmware.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, I know what you're thinking...USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! But I have and I have tried all the solutions I could find on google and here. I've tried turning it on with just the bat, bat/mem, bat/sim, etc charged my phone and what not and still nothing. It just won't turn on.I even tried hard resetting it but nothing works. When I press and hold the power button it just vibrates once and doesn't do anything. When I hook it up to the pc, it recognizes that there's a nokia phone there...I think...but it only does when you click and hold power and i vibrates.

The only option I've got from now are "Shortcuts" (4 between applications and favourites) and "Contacts bar". I have tried with hard and soft resets, and it's equal. Everything else working fine - just lost one of the input options, handwriting, mini-qwerty or keypad are all that are left. Annoying as qwertry input was one of the best things about it - handwriting sucks, mini-qwerty is too small and if I wanted an alpha-numeric keypad I would have got a smaller, 'traditional' phone.

Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?

But then when I start to reinstall the apps I've lost. I've only installed ViewRanger (1.7Mb), and the memory has already dropped to 28Mb. I daren't install anything else. Is there any way to stop this problem recurring?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter recent upgrade to v 60.0.003, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not seem to be working properly with my car bluetooth kit. It connects to the car kit alright, and the incoming call's ringtone is heard on the car kit and the call can also be accepted by pressing the green button on the car kit but the call voice (both mike and speaker) remains with the phone and does not come over the car stereo. If I look at the phone screen during the call, there is an option to activate the speaker but none to transfer the call to bluetooth device. I have tried fiddling with options in Accessories - > Car kit, as well as the bluetooth options, to no avail. Tried re-pairing but that didn;t help either.
