Went to select menu and then played with the organise in options and have now lost my apps icon cant get to anything apart from things in menu and the settings has dissapeared as well. So reset with *#7780# and no different.

my nokia 5800 has suddenly just lost all its access points so when i connect to web n walk where it says select connection is say (no data). ive already tried doing restore to factory settings and that has not worked. If anyone has any ideas on how i can get them back plz help.

I'm running the app with a red @ as icon, which was proposed by the device once started up.Please don't tell me to update the software, set the notification as visible, doing a hard reset, as I already did it all this stuff.I read somewhere to delete the file C:private10202be9persist which can be found by using X-plore. Again: I did install it, but that folder named private is not shown (shall I think that there isn't any?).Does anyone reckon that this issue may be fixable?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have lost all the photos and vidoes on my 5800. I did not delete them or edit or do anything with them. One day I was looking at them and then the next day when I wanted to access them they were all gone.
Not long after it happened I did a back up and updated the firmware to v50. Everything else works fine.
They seem to be still on my phone as the images I have downloaded from ovistore wont re download but I can make them wallpaper through ovistore. And when I access my photos and videos through my computer they are still there. I just can not get to them on my phone.
my nokia 5800 has been weird for some time now ..it restarts itself every now and then it has like vertical grey and black lines ..and red and black horizontal lines other times ..now it just restarted itself and i found NO MESSAGES anymore .. all my files were gone it was overloaded with +1000 inboxes and sent items ..but how come i get to lose them in a glance?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this 5800 XpressMusic phone for almost a year now and have really never had any complaints. Up until today. I sent an SMS to someone earlier today and when I went into my inbox to check another message the phone popped up an error. It told me it could not access the memory and would save SMS to phone memory from now on. I had previously set it to save all SMS to the micro SD card. When I went to the "Settings" to change it back to saving everything to the SD card, it didn't work.
As soon as it was set back to "memory card", my inbox showed up as empty. All my messages are gone. Is there a way to get these messages back? I've tried restarting the phone, removing the memory card and reinserting it, using PC Suite to access the messages, but so far nothing has worked. The only thing that appears to be gone are the sent and received text messages. Everything else still seems to be intact on the micro SD card.
im using nokia 5800xm..after updating my firmware from V50 to V51 i do hard reset to my phone..after restarting my map lost premium content like wather, event, lonely planet and hungrygowhere..ive try download and install new map from nokia site but seem my premium content still didt show up..so how i can get my premium content back again??

The only option I've got from now are "Shortcuts" (4 between applications and favourites) and "Contacts bar". I have tried with hard and soft resets, and it's equal. There is a little problem with the alarm too, but not important.

Everything else working fine - just lost one of the input options, handwriting, mini-qwerty or keypad are all that are left. Annoying as qwertry input was one of the best things about it - handwriting sucks, mini-qwerty is too small and if I wanted an alpha-numeric keypad I would have got a smaller, 'traditional' phone.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have touch screen issue with my Nokia 5800 after installing new 51.0.006 version.After instaling new FW system screen frequently goes black and strats again after 7-10 seconds. Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedProblem observed by me on any firmware version, I'm using actually v 50.0.005 in my 5800XM.If you have over 200 e-mails in your mailbox on server and you have downloaded them into the phone (even only e-mails headers) then icon in upper right corner (that envelope with @ sign) doesn't want disappear. Only phone turn off then turn on is solution which is not so funny.Any ideas? Magic spells? Wake up developers! This bug? is very irritating.

Its the icon with a little yellow speech bubble on top of a bigger white speech bubble, the one that shows on the home screen. As I've lost this icon I cant use msn messenger. How can I get it back? View 9 Replies View RelatedA weird thing has started happening on my 5800 in that certain apps seem to have started failing to connect to the internet. If I use the browser then I get the connection choice menu i.e. WAP or WiFi, but certain applications have stopped giving this choice and therefore just sit there doing nothing. The only way I can get them to do anything is by connecting to a WiFi point first via settings then starting the application. This is okay when I'm near a WiFi point but it means cannot use these application properly on the move. The apps that are affected are Gmail, Googlemaps and Forcea Weather.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this then I would be grateful for your help.
Id like to format my phone but what actually gets deleted when i format it? will i be able to get the 2 pre installed games back and do allt he settings remain the same? and what about the ringing tones such as nokia tune...? basically is everything deleted but can I get any of it back from the nokia store free of charge if it was already on my phone...?

Many of the apps like: Touch Guitar, Piano, Flute, SmartGaurd and etc., are not working on my mobile which I bought very recently. They either give an error saying,"App expired on Jun'10 (but we are still in June 2010 Month)

get installed without any issues, but are NEVER working (when tried opening, nothing happens on the screen) Also followed the same instructions specifed on the website as, "Download on your PC and then transfer it to your device using the Nokia PC Suite" apart from trying to install from Memory Card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a strange problem with my 5800, when I want to enter application manager > installed applications my phone restarts. From recent installed applications a major ones would be Ovi Maps and (today) Java 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs. I am not sure which one could cause the described problem, but I think it would be Java. Why? Because without memory card present I can enter 'installed apps' without any problem. I have to tell you, that only in my opinion Java causes that, I don't know if any other doesn't. How to manage the problem without a hard reset? I really wouldn't like to install all my stuff once again.

I am having issues trying to backup my phone to the mini-SD card. Whenever I try to backup the phone, during the 'Preparing backup' stage I get the message:
File Manager : Memory Full. Close some applications and try again
I have uninstalled any unnecessary apps from the C: drive and cleared out unwanted files . This is how much memory I have available:
RAM : 51mb / 120mb
C: 41mb/86mb
D: 51mb/43mb
E: 5869mb/ 7596mb
I have recently carried out a hard reset on the handset and upgraded the software, so this is not the solution. This was a problem before doing this and remains an issue now. I know that I can backup the phone on my PC but I would like to resolve this so I can backup the phone on the fly.
I have a 5800XM phone and I had apps from OVI that I downloaded. I restored it to factory defaults and updated firmware which were both successful. However, now I can't download apps from OVI that I have downloaded before the restoration to factory defaults. I can download other apps from OVI fine. Only the apps that I previously downloaded have the "Download" button disabled or grayed out.

My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?
