Jan 30, 2010Last week iīve successfully updated my n5800xpress music with the latest fw 40.000.05 through NSU. Now i need some help with Ovi maps. So far i see there is a map on my device. It based on v3.01 09 and map ver 0.1.22.103. In order to use free Ovi maps so i need Ovi maps ver 3.03. These are some of my questions.
1.How to update my old Ovi maps to the new ver 3.03 through PC?
2.As iīve read some of the thread regarding Ovi mapsthat in some case i maybe have to uninstall the old version. But when i check it through Application manager i couldnīt find neither ovi maps or nokia map but there is an Ovi store client in there.
3.Off topic. I wonder why when i start my fone sometimes some of the pictures in the contacts bar is not really in phocus? any suggestion?

Mar 12, 2010My phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb. I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings. I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.

Jul 19, 2010I have always been careful that whenever I have loaded a new app onto my Nokia 5800 that I have chosen to load it onto my 8GB memory card in the phone but now I am greeted in the phones file manger that c: only has 1.5mb memory left! and the other day I even got a message that drice c was full even though I was loading an app to the SD card in the phone - If I go through the file manger to C: there are folders but are empty, and if I used another app such as y browser or xplore - I find files on c but cannot delete them (presumably because nokia has locked them so they cannot be removed or because they are system files) so is there anything I can do? - I don't really want to go down the route of doing a full reset/format of the phone if I can avoid it.

Jan 20, 2012Well I've had this PREPAY ph for 4 years and as far as I know, if I don't select A-GPS, it doesn't use data - until recently! (Maps V3.06 - maybe I've updated this recently).Is this possible or have I made an error somewhere?Settings: Positioning> Assisted GPS = Off, Integrated GPS = ON, Bluetooth GPS = Off, Wi-Fi/Network = Off, Network based = Off.But on two recent test trips, my prepay balance reduces by exactly $1 and my Log>Data counter shows about 500 kB received (less sent as I recall - zeroed since). Note: $1 is standard Voda daily data rate per day in NZ up to 1 MB.So I'm pretty sure the GPS is costing me $1/day even though I have A-GPS et al switched off! In both tests I ensured I have not used the phone for anything but navigation (using Walk navigation with voice).

I need to know why. Each time I use the map, I'm being charged, and if there is no credit, I cannot use the map. Kindly let me know why is it not free. I use Bahrain's Batelco network.

Mar 15, 2010A weird thing has started happening on my 5800 in that certain apps seem to have started failing to connect to the internet. If I use the browser then I get the connection choice menu i.e. WAP or WiFi, but certain applications have stopped giving this choice and therefore just sit there doing nothing. The only way I can get them to do anything is by connecting to a WiFi point first via settings then starting the application. This is okay when I'm near a WiFi point but it means cannot use these application properly on the move. The apps that are affected are Gmail, Googlemaps and Forcea Weather.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this then I would be grateful for your help.

Many of the apps like: Touch Guitar, Piano, Flute, SmartGaurd and etc., are not working on my mobile which I bought very recently. They either give an error saying,"App expired on Jun'10 (but we are still in June 2010 Month)

get installed without any issues, but are NEVER working (when tried opening, nothing happens on the screen) Also followed the same instructions specifed on the website as, "Download on your PC and then transfer it to your device using the Nokia PC Suite" apart from trying to install from Memory Card.

Nokia :: 5800 Restarts When Entering Settings - App Manager - Installed Apps
Feb 2, 2010I've got a strange problem with my 5800, when I want to enter application manager > installed applications my phone restarts. From recent installed applications a major ones would be Ovi Maps and (today) Java 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs. I am not sure which one could cause the described problem, but I think it would be Java. Why? Because without memory card present I can enter 'installed apps' without any problem. I have to tell you, that only in my opinion Java causes that, I don't know if any other doesn't. How to manage the problem without a hard reset? I really wouldn't like to install all my stuff once again.

I am having issues trying to backup my phone to the mini-SD card. Whenever I try to backup the phone, during the 'Preparing backup' stage I get the message:
File Manager : Memory Full. Close some applications and try again
I have uninstalled any unnecessary apps from the C: drive and cleared out unwanted files . This is how much memory I have available:
RAM : 51mb / 120mb
C: 41mb/86mb
D: 51mb/43mb
E: 5869mb/ 7596mb
I have recently carried out a hard reset on the handset and upgraded the software, so this is not the solution. This was a problem before doing this and remains an issue now. I know that I can backup the phone on my PC but I would like to resolve this so I can backup the phone on the fly.

Jun 5, 2010I have a 5800XM phone and I had apps from OVI that I downloaded. I restored it to factory defaults and updated firmware which were both successful. However, now I can't download apps from OVI that I have downloaded before the restoration to factory defaults. I can download other apps from OVI fine. Only the apps that I previously downloaded have the "Download" button disabled or grayed out.

Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?
