Just got this phone and have a question, when i enter a route the speed limit function works and the speed camera detection works.Is there anyway to get this working in free map mode.
View 4 RepliesI want to use the 'sequence' image capture mode of the camera to take images at a defined time interval. If I use the sequence mode the 5800 camera shoots a series of photos fast. I want to adjust this time interval. The Nokia 5800 user manual says that this is possible by selecting the desired time interval.

However I am not seeing any such option for adjusting the time interval in the settings! Has anyone used this functionality? How do I set the time interval between sequenced image captures?
1. My 5530 camera isn't working. Whenever i click it, it runs and when i open the tast manager, it is running but it never opens up..
2. My phone memory is full, and 70mb of data is in the 'other' category, when i checked via. the memory details facility. I updated my phone's firmware, so does that have anything to do with is :S . How do i free the data?
my phone has been fine for about 10-11 months, but last month the camera has stopped working, it wont start from the button or the application. After i click the button or the application a loading circle is around the picture of the camera to show its on but it just leaves the app open i cant open it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my Nokia 5800 for a year now, and recently my camera has just stopped working. I press the camera button on the side and it doesn't load, and even going via menu>applications>camera doesn't work.
However, after pressing the camera button and going via the menu, the green circle shows that camera is open even though it isn't.Sometimes when i turn it off and on again, it will take on photo then stop working.Does anybody know what I can do?
I just bought a 5800 and updated to latest firmware.
Everything works fine except the camera. When I active the camera I can see that the application is started (seeing the indication in the menu) BUT I can't see the application. Thus I cannot take pictures.
Another question I have. Is there a setting in the emailsetup to prevent emails being deleted from the server when I deleted them on the phne?
I have a problem with camera and video player.
About camera:
When I turn on the phone and go to the camera it works. I can take few photos and close it. But when I try to run it again there is only black screen. I have to reset my phone to open it once again.
About videos:
Very similar problem. I can watch few videos, but If I close the player and run it again, there is only sound and black screen. I must reset my phone to watch it again...
I have FW v31 and it's the newest software provided by my operator.
My camera has stopped working on my nokia 5800 press camera button and it just goes back to menu screen. Tried camera through apps does same thing and it does not show it open also. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. Just not see the video and also vidoes what I have took on my phone done soft and hard reset firmware update.

But when it is in music player mode they turn the volume up and down perfectly fine. Any ideas how to fix it or is a trip to Nokia Care needed? Would upgrading the firmware do anything to solve the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy N82 while taking pictures focuses properly in macro mode. (Green rectangular box). Other than macro mode I can see only red rectangular box (indicating improper focus?) and the photo seems to be blurred. Macro mode photos seems to be good. Even if I put camera settings to 'Auto' I am getting red rectangular box most of the times instead of green. Software or hardware fault?

View 10 Replies View RelatedLast week iīve successfully updated my n5800xpress music with the latest fw 40.000.05 through NSU. Now i need some help with Ovi maps. So far i see there is a map on my device. It based on v3.01 09 and map ver 0.1.22.103. In order to use free Ovi maps so i need Ovi maps ver 3.03. These are some of my questions.
1.How to update my old Ovi maps to the new ver 3.03 through PC?
2.As iīve read some of the thread regarding Ovi mapsthat in some case i maybe have to uninstall the old version. But when i check it through Application manager i couldnīt find neither ovi maps or nokia map but there is an Ovi store client in there.
3.Off topic. I wonder why when i start my fone sometimes some of the pictures in the contacts bar is not really in phocus? any suggestion?
My phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb. I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings. I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have always been careful that whenever I have loaded a new app onto my Nokia 5800 that I have chosen to load it onto my 8GB memory card in the phone but now I am greeted in the phones file manger that c: only has 1.5mb memory left! and the other day I even got a message that drice c was full even though I was loading an app to the SD card in the phone - If I go through the file manger to C: there are folders but are empty, and if I used another app such as y browser or xplore - I find files on c but cannot delete them (presumably because nokia has locked them so they cannot be removed or because they are system files) so is there anything I can do? - I don't really want to go down the route of doing a full reset/format of the phone if I can avoid it.

Well I've had this PREPAY ph for 4 years and as far as I know, if I don't select A-GPS, it doesn't use data - until recently! (Maps V3.06 - maybe I've updated this recently).Is this possible or have I made an error somewhere?Settings: Positioning> Assisted GPS = Off, Integrated GPS = ON, Bluetooth GPS = Off, Wi-Fi/Network = Off, Network based = Off.But on two recent test trips, my prepay balance reduces by exactly $1 and my Log>Data counter shows about 500 kB received (less sent as I recall - zeroed since). Note: $1 is standard Voda daily data rate per day in NZ up to 1 MB.So I'm pretty sure the GPS is costing me $1/day even though I have A-GPS et al switched off! In both tests I ensured I have not used the phone for anything but navigation (using Walk navigation with voice).

It is not free turn-by-turn for me. I need to know why. Each time I use the map, I'm being charged, and if there is no credit, I cannot use the map. Kindly let me know why is it not free. I use Bahrain's Batelco network.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe designers of the N8 left out a HUGE camera setting, and that is the ability to directly control the shutter speed.
Right now the N8 cannot do things my old Sony Ericsson C905 can do, and that is slow down the shutter speed to take long 1sec+ photos at night.
So, you will never be able to use a tripod and capture tail lights from cars like this effect. I hope this gets address with a software update. Nokia is crippling this Carl Zeiss optics with limitations.
having upgraded from my much loved nokia n97 mini, to the new lumia 800 (very impressed aswell).
But.. No speed camera alerts (this was a much loved feature for me in ovi maps) No Favourite route option (again, this was a much used feature for me in ovi maps), found it brilliant if i stumbled upon a place whilst driving, and thought i want to check this place out. used to pull over where safe, and pin the point, and go back when i had time.
On the plus side, bigger mapping, 3d symbols, and a much clearer and louder voice tellig you where to go.
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've bought a new 5800 Xpress music recently and have three questions with Ovi maps:
1. I don't see any satellite (photo) maps when selecting the satellite mode in the display options; instead, the map is just filled with a pattern of alternating dark green and light green linear areas. How do I enable real satellite data, as shown in the attached picture?
2. The update speed of the map when navigating on foot or by car seems very slow. Is there some way to increase / improve this?
3. The phone doesn't seem to recognize really well if I hold it vertically or horizontally. Can I improve that behavior, or switch between manually?
Thank you Nokia for making maps free. We really love you for that. But I've already found the first serious bug. Even if you have downloaded maps to the phone (N97 mini), you can't search for addresse and places in offline mode. The old version could that.If you browse with your finger and browse through places, you will find everthing, but when searching freetext for places and addresses in offline mode, no result are shown.Guess Nokia will have to fix this soon.The workaround is of course to use online mode.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a msg today from Nokia saying there was an update for the 5800.
But I am unable to connect the phone to the computer in pc suite mode.
I updated the software on the computer as required by the update, but then it would not recognise the connection to the phone so I cant update it.
I can connect it mass storage mode, but as soon as I connect via PC Suite the usb connection dies. I am able to connect via bluetooth, but this doesn't help as it says I need to conect via PC Suite to receive the update.
How would I be able to connect the phone to the computer via PC Suite mode to get the upgrade?
I am now on my 2nd 5800, got my first one last February and was able to use it for a whole month, till I took the SIM out of it, thats when my problems began, I've had 2 new SIMs, the phone was away for repair 3 times then I got a new one in November 2009 and guess what same problem, it wont change from off line to on line, no matter how many times I put the SIM in, so that one has been away for repair and surprise surprise it still doesn't work, thankfully I still have my old N95 which works and I use that.
