Jan 30, 2010Last week i“ve successfully updated my n5800xpress music with the latest fw 40.000.05 through NSU. Now i need some help with Ovi maps. So far i see there is a map on my device. It based on v3.01 09 and map ver 0.1.22.103. In order to use free Ovi maps so i need Ovi maps ver 3.03. These are some of my questions.
1.How to update my old Ovi maps to the new ver 3.03 through PC?
2.As i“ve read some of the thread regarding Ovi mapsthat in some case i maybe have to uninstall the old version. But when i check it through Application manager i couldn“t find neither ovi maps or nokia map but there is an Ovi store client in there.
3.Off topic. I wonder why when i start my fone sometimes some of the pictures in the contacts bar is not really in phocus? any suggestion?

Mar 12, 2010My phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb. I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings. I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.

Jul 19, 2010I have always been careful that whenever I have loaded a new app onto my Nokia 5800 that I have chosen to load it onto my 8GB memory card in the phone but now I am greeted in the phones file manger that c: only has 1.5mb memory left! and the other day I even got a message that drice c was full even though I was loading an app to the SD card in the phone - If I go through the file manger to C: there are folders but are empty, and if I used another app such as y browser or xplore - I find files on c but cannot delete them (presumably because nokia has locked them so they cannot be removed or because they are system files) so is there anything I can do? - I don't really want to go down the route of doing a full reset/format of the phone if I can avoid it.

Jan 20, 2012Well I've had this PREPAY ph for 4 years and as far as I know, if I don't select A-GPS, it doesn't use data - until recently! (Maps V3.06 - maybe I've updated this recently).Is this possible or have I made an error somewhere?Settings: Positioning> Assisted GPS = Off, Integrated GPS = ON, Bluetooth GPS = Off, Wi-Fi/Network = Off, Network based = Off.But on two recent test trips, my prepay balance reduces by exactly $1 and my Log>Data counter shows about 500 kB received (less sent as I recall - zeroed since). Note: $1 is standard Voda daily data rate per day in NZ up to 1 MB.So I'm pretty sure the GPS is costing me $1/day even though I have A-GPS et al switched off! In both tests I ensured I have not used the phone for anything but navigation (using Walk navigation with voice).

I need to know why. Each time I use the map, I'm being charged, and if there is no credit, I cannot use the map. Kindly let me know why is it not free. I use Bahrain's Batelco network.

Mar 29, 2010I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.

Aug 13, 2010I have the X6 16gb with virgin and pay £15 per month which gives me 200mins and ultd text. I then travelled to France using the Sat Nav and came back to a bill of around £6 for usinng the Sat Nav and have been charged when ever i use it, virgin have told me to contact Nokia as using the Sat Nav i was charged for GPS usuage (pardon my ignorance but does a sat nav not run of GPS), I have finally spoken to somone at Nokai and they are now telling me the free aspect of the Sat Nav is the application and licence and for data transfer via GPS i will be charged for this via virgin.
I am not willing to pay £5 pm for this from virgin as I genuinely belived i bought a phone with a sat nav not some elctronic maps.

Mar 29, 2010Ovi map 3.03 for S60 V3.1 with free navigation has been released on China's Nokia official website..When I select E72 and click on the "download" button, the file name is "nokia_ maps_ 3[1]. 03_ 10wk11_ b04_ s60_ 3.1_ rom_china.NOCS.sis", which is totally different from the file downloaded from Nokia Europe.I successfully installed it in my E71 and it automatically became English UI. I test the navigation for walk or drive, it's completely free of charges. You just need to download the map and voice with map loader.Don't be confused by the file name.It will automatically adapt the language on your phone!!

Jan 24, 2010Just upgraded the software version of my Nokia N85 (RM-333) to version : 31.00.2 Then installed the Nokia map loader, selected the countries and languages i was interrested in and waited for about 20 minutes for everything to be installed, though never got any message on my actual phone which was still connected via USB.
Downloads are complete, so i try nokia maps on my phone (which i used during the free trial when i got the phone) but it still wants me to buy the maps? So guess it's not free yet then for the N85, so that was a morning well wasted trying to sort all this out.

Jan 23, 2010I bought a N86 RM-484 that is working very well. This morning i read in the newspaper the NOKIA gives for free the Navigator o its cellulars.I opened the Nokia WEB site and the news was real: you can free download maps for Smartphones (but non for N86). My N86 has its drive navigator with an original 10 days license (expires on 31/01/2010).
The walk navigator has a lifetime license.
I then updated the drive navigator license data, but no change. It keeps prompting me to buy a new licence for the drive navigatorr( 99 euro, one year).
It does not sound correct: is now free or not free the NOKIA navigator? Before trying Nokia Maps, I upgraded to 20.115 via software updater and it prompted me to install nokia maps 3.0, which I did.
