I recently developed a problem with my 5800. I can't read new texts. I can see them in the preview, but when I click on them to open the full text message, nothing happens. My text messages are set up to be saved to my sd card. In addition to this problem, I can't read my emails either, only the preview. I have done a hard reset, and the problem is still present.

View 9 Replies View Relatedmy nokia 5800 has been weird for some time now ..it restarts itself every now and then it has like vertical grey and black lines ..and red and black horizontal lines other times ..now it just restarted itself and i found NO MESSAGES anymore .. all my files were gone it was overloaded with +1000 inboxes and sent items ..but how come i get to lose them in a glance?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this 5800 XpressMusic phone for almost a year now and have really never had any complaints. Up until today. I sent an SMS to someone earlier today and when I went into my inbox to check another message the phone popped up an error. It told me it could not access the memory and would save SMS to phone memory from now on. I had previously set it to save all SMS to the micro SD card. When I went to the "Settings" to change it back to saving everything to the SD card, it didn't work.
As soon as it was set back to "memory card", my inbox showed up as empty. All my messages are gone. Is there a way to get these messages back? I've tried restarting the phone, removing the memory card and reinserting it, using PC Suite to access the messages, but so far nothing has worked. The only thing that appears to be gone are the sent and received text messages. Everything else still seems to be intact on the micro SD card.
m using nokia 5800..... i want to ask u wht shud i do so dat i can use the messages department as a conversation...... like it is ther in nokia 5233 or blackberry......is ther any update for that?

Now, suddenly, some of my messages have disappeared and the default memory location has become the phone again.Now, if I try to select memory card from the messages settings, the application crashes and I'm sent back to the home screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
My 5800 randomly stopped sending text messages about 2 days ago. It has problems sending texts for a few hours before but would send them on the second or third try but now refuses to send no matter how many times I try. I'm able to do everything else (recieve and send calls, recieve texts and access the internet) I also put my sim card in my old phone and it can send texts so it must be my phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia XM 5800 almost 2 months ago, and its been great, except for it has recently stopped telling me that I have recieved a text. Previously it made a sound, and vibrated and gave me a little envelope in the corner, but now it does none of these and I have to check my inbox to see if I have any new messages. I have tried using the code to reset my phone settings and that failed. I have also tried turning my phone off, taking the battery out etc and these all had no effect. If you can help please tell me.

Searching the web I found at[URL]that downloading an illegal version of of the game 'Mosquitos' cuses infection with a a Trojan that infects the phone and sends the costly SMS messages without the owner realizing, but I did not install this illegal program, what I did download from Ovi store was a program called 'mosquito repellant', could this be the cause of trogen infection?

I've owned Nokia phones (an no other make) for over 10 years, but this is by far my most disappointing experience. I am at wits end and near the tipping point (of purchasing an iPhone 5).Nearly 1 in 5 times I use the darned thing it crashes. Also, my icons for search items are gone (except for restaurants). I restored the phone and now it won't download any maps! I used to have complete maps for the USA, Canada and Mexico, but now it will not even download the USA.I can not download the latest firmware (version of Symbian). My phone says it is up-to-date, but it is not. I do not have a PC so I can not use Nokia Suite (why? Nokia, get real and write a Mac version already).
When I reboot my phone it will not receive voice mail or text messages! I have to reboot it again.Why is this phone so buggy? I'm sending it in for warranty repair but I don't think I want this or any Nokia software phone. I think I'll try a Nokia Windows phone if Nokia will give me some credit for this phone and allow me to apply it towards the Windows versions. I mean seriously, Apple has their bomb proof software that works. If there is a bug, give them a week and there's an easily obtained update. I'm not an Apple fanboy, but I'm being driven away. Some incoming text messages display a blue question mark when viewing my inbox rather than the text message icon and cannot be opened or read using voice reader.Doesn't seem to relate to network coverage as it has happened when I have had a full signal. It's an intermittent fault but an irritating one.

I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. In the message list window I press the Blacberry key, scroll down and select 'options' - the options page pops up for about a second, and then I'm taken back to message list.
