My 5800 randomly stopped sending text messages about 2 days ago. It has problems sending texts for a few hours before but would send them on the second or third try but now refuses to send no matter how many times I try. I'm able to do everything else (recieve and send calls, recieve texts and access the internet) I also put my sim card in my old phone and it can send texts so it must be my phone.
View 7 Replieswhen you try to send a normal text message (not mms) it just sits in your outbox? - i have spoken to my service provider and they've ruled out its their network (which i already knew, as i tried my sim card in my husbands mobile and i was able to send txts no problems and we're with the same company and have the same phone).
I've updated the software and my service provider also sms'd me their set up details and it still refuses to send any messages - i can receive messages and i can send MMS (picture) messages, but normal txts just sit in my outbox. My service provider has said they think its an issue with my actual handset but as im one month out of their 12 month warranty cover, if i want it looked it at i have to pay for it , i havent done anything to it (ie dropped it etc) and it was working fine on thursday, the problem only started yesterday afternoon.
I find myself in this predicament. I am being harassed with phone calls and messages. Would like to know if the type of Nokia I own has any settings to block all incoming calls, messages from phone numbers that aren't in my contact list. Also, is it possible to block calls and / or messages from a single phone number?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had this 5800 XpressMusic phone for almost a year now and have really never had any complaints. Up until today. I sent an SMS to someone earlier today and when I went into my inbox to check another message the phone popped up an error. It told me it could not access the memory and would save SMS to phone memory from now on. I had previously set it to save all SMS to the micro SD card. When I went to the "Settings" to change it back to saving everything to the SD card, it didn't work.
As soon as it was set back to "memory card", my inbox showed up as empty. All my messages are gone. Is there a way to get these messages back? I've tried restarting the phone, removing the memory card and reinserting it, using PC Suite to access the messages, but so far nothing has worked. The only thing that appears to be gone are the sent and received text messages. Everything else still seems to be intact on the micro SD card.
I'm using nokia 5800 model. In that two messages got failed while sending and stored in Outbox. I tried to delete those two messages. But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem

View 3 Replies View RelatedI received my N86 via courier yesterday, and did the usual setup stuff that I was prompted to do. For some reason, my phone keeps on saying "sending text message" at random intervals. I check the outbox, and nothing is there! This has been ongoing since I turned it on.
I have tried a soft and hard reset, and I have just noticed that there is a firmware upgrade available. I am in the process of charging my battery.
My Lumina 900 is receiving text messages but is not sending text messages.

Then when I click the send button, it displays the "Sending Message" screen for about the same time, before finally sending the message.The phone was recently wiped by Nokia Care Centre because of a problem with text messages rebooting the phone. This issue is now occuring as well, but mostly at night?Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? It has firmware 12.0.110 installed.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter two or three charges my new (up to date) Lumia 900 stops sending/receiving text messages. The map app also appears black at every zoom level. However LTE signal is fine, I can receive phone calls, and use data to search for near-by restaraunts and overlay results over the black tileless map.There is no visible indication that the phone is no longer sending/receiving txt messages.. other than an angry girlfriend.Once in a while I open up the map app to see if its loading tiles. If not, I reboot the phone and everything returns to normal for a few days, and then problem comes back. It has been this way since I bought the phone three weeks ago.

I recently updated my phone 5800 XpressMusic to latest firmware V 50.0.005 (Customer Version 50.0.005.C03.01) but I am unable to see many changes. The only changes that I notice are - kinetic scrolling, change in the way browser displays the page and music library. Are these the only changes? Is there a way to check officially, what all changes, is this new firmware supposed to bring in?

I have been using Nokia handsets for last 5-7 years, because I like the compatibility & reliability of Nokia phones. But this time Nokia has really disappointed me. I have bought Nokia 5800 XpressMusic on 14th-August-2009 of 16000 INR. I have bought it for that particular feature. But i havn't found any TV-Out cable in the box or such feature in the handset. I have also connected TV-Out cable of Nokia N-95 with it, but its not working. I hope, Nokia will sure make a positive solution for that devices, manufactured without this feature in August-2009 & give the relief to all its owners like me, by replacing it with new one having this feature.

i have since transferred a bunch of music from my PC to my phone. however, only about 10% of all albums were able to automatically include the album art. alternatively, i had to manually add the album art for each album - provided if the album art could be found in the gallery. what's curious is that, when connected by usb to my PC, and because adobe photo starter pops up by default for any connected media device of mine, i could see that the album art images, which could not be found in the gallery (and hence unable to be manually added), were very well present somewhere in my phone. clearly, i have trouble locating them. furthermore, whenever i delete an album art image from my gallery, i can kiss the said album art goodbye from the album/music app too. my questions are:
1) where are the album art images which are floating somewhere in my phone/memory card ie. how can i locate them?...........
i purchased a Nokia 5800 Xpress music. After a few moths he started truning off automattically. Sometimes he turns on afterwards, sometimes he does not. It is really very anoiing. Because when I keep my obile phone in my pocket, I don't know If it turned off. I tried to do a complete reset, but that didn't work. Also all updates are installed.

Previously it made a sound, and vibrated and gave me a little envelope in the corner, but now it does none of these and I have to check my inbox to see if I have any new messages. I have tried using the code to reset my phone settings and that failed. I have also tried turning my phone off, taking the battery out etc and these all had no effect. If you can help please tell me.

I wanted to get the free navigation service and and connected my phone to ovi suite for downloading country maps. However, got the following error after clicking on the "update maps" section: Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. this is due to either of the following reasons:
-Your device doesn't support the nokia maps application
- The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
I have a Nokia 5530 and one of my friends had a Nokia 5800. We both have the same problem with our headset we bought (the mrhandsfree Blue twin).we can pair them and this is no problem, we authorise it and again, no problem. It connects with the headset. After a few seconds, the connection is lost without a reason. We can connect it again by pushing the button on the headset, but this starts the voice dial. I want to be able to use voice dial, but only when i want it (normally, it is when you push the heatsetbutton a few seconds).The only way to remain connected with the headset is to play music, it plays through the headset and the connection stays on.When the headset is off and i put it on, the phone can see the headset and connects. It disconnects again after a few seconds.
When we get called, we can't accept the phonecall. the phone just rings, if we push the button on the headset, it connects with the headset and the sound goes perfectly through the headset. If i push the button to pick up, it disconnects the call.Why can't i stay connected with my phone and headset?
I seem to be having some problems using the internet on my phone but I'm not sure if it's the fault of the phone itself or T-Mobile. When I connect either via Wi-Fi or T-Mobile Internet, sometimes it hangs or kicks me off, closing the browser down as it does so, sometimes it doesn't disconnect despite me telling it to, and when using the Windows Live Messenger app it keeps losing the connection.
