I have about 5500 messages on my N97 and want to transfer them to N8 but when it try the phone switch and transfer them with Bluetooth it literally takes for ever, last time I tried it transferred like 30 in 5 minutes, is there anyway I can make it go faster? Also tried to backup my messages on Ovi suit and PC suite, well on PC suit it gives me an error saying there is not enough memory(On the PC suite application on my computer) and it backs it up short, only 1000 I think and in OVI suit, I backed it up fine but when tried to restore, it did it and took some time but nothing happened, number of txt messages didn't change.

So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory. Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
I have managed to sync my N97 mini to my new N9. All my contancts and calender entries are in my new N9. How do I transfer txt messages from my N97 mini to my N9?
Im trying to save the text I have received in an email message, but i can't find any way of doing it ! No copy/paste option that i can find.....I tried moving it to another folder, but it only gives me the option to move it to the Inbox where it already is. And I cant find how to create a new folder. is the email client just not good enough in my beloved N8?
While entering an SMS (text), when I reach a certain unknown number of written characters my N8 pops up message saying, 'Message type changed to multimedia msg.' There's-one-little-glitch: Where I live MMS service is - not - available! If I delete even one (1) character I get another pop up saying, 'Msg type changed to text msg.'
Nokia's solution: When the N8 tries to convert to mms go to Options > Sending Options > msg type > Text. Nokia's solution fails immediately after pressing 'Options' because there is NO 'Sending Options' option to select! How - can I disable/remove/get rid of this unwanted/forced MMS change over so I can write and send as many characters as I want/need in SMS (text).
I, like several others are having issues with getting text messages from the cloud onto my new Lumia 950 which I've had for about 4 days now. As of this moment it's still stuck from January 2013 and it hasn't taken this long before so it could be a server side that's been causing the issue. So I tried using the Transfer My Data app to transfer text messages and whenever I pair them it doesn't allow my Lumia 920 to transfer texts only contacts.
Is that because it's using an old Bluetooth that doesn't allow transfer, but I paired it the opposite way and it transferred over my Lumia 950 texts onto my 920... . So I tried using the contacts+message backup app by uploading the text backup using OneDrive and then downloading that onto my Lumia 950 but that wouldn't work either since the restore option was grayed out.
When I try to forward a text message to more than 10 people by using the contacts menu to select the recipients, the message changes from text message to multimedia message.
Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?
I purchased new nokia 700 and I have n97 I want to transfer my SMS from n97 to 700. And any way to make 700 to accept to store SMS on SD card rather than phone memory?
I want to transfer photos/videos from my N8 (defaulted to save in the Mass Memory) to my pc. I set the transfer default on my N8 to Mass Memory for USB transfer and connect to the pc. On my pc the phone shows up as Removable Disk (G). Clicking on it it shows all the folders but there is absolutely nothing in any of them although they exist in the mass memory folders on the phone.
I cannot get the media transfer to work with my 808 pureview, it worked fine with my E7 running Anna, but it just get stuck "searching for device" when I plug the 808 in. If I set the 808 to media transfer I get the message "your 808 is not in a mode used for media transfer" then when I swtich it back to Nokia Suite, media transfer gets stuck looking for a device?
Since i tried putting music on my Nokia 500, the phone has always given me the message "Media transfer in progress" when I access music player. I even removed the music and now the library has 0 files but still "Media transfer in progress."
My N8 (anna) was running just fine doing transfers through Linux. Now in Windows 7 64 and any file that I transfer, in any mode (USB, Ovi) gets corrupted. This happens to either internal 16gb or the memory card.
I have a new laptop coming and just wondered what is the best way to transfer Ovi Suite to it? I can download a fresh copy but this would lose the history. Is there any way that this can be done please? Forgot to say that my telephone is Nokia N8/Symbian.
I am trying to transfer all my contacts from Galaxy S to Nokia 808 but it seems to be like the Mars Mission! I have all my contacts synced with my Google account and Windows Live account and I have all the contacts in .vcf and .csv format. How can I get them into my Nokia 808. I tried the "Import contacts" option in PC Suite but it just does not do anything. It acts as though I never asked it to import. So that isnt working. I am using the latest PC Suite which i downloaded from the Nokia website.
The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

I just want to know if there is a way that I can open my text message "inbox" without haivng to open a new text message that I have. I used to have a droid. When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.
I'm planning to buy lumia 920 but I was wondering if I could transfer text message, photos, and contacts easily? I'm not sure if lumia has Nokia Sync since it uses another software.
i've been an iphone user since 2008. I consider myself a fan of good products. I have my lumia 920 which is the best phone to currently hit the american market, but i am unable to use it in its current state. There is solutions to transfer your contacts, calendar, pictures, video, and music along with playlist and album covers. But i'm stump that there isnt a way to transfer my text and mms from my iphone. i have important messages and would like to be able to utilize only one device if i need to reference anything. with all the work you have put into migration i'm surprise text wasn't first on the list. i have my phone but havent activated it yet and probably won't if i cant bring over my past text history from my iphone 4s. i dont understand how it was presented that migration from an iphone would be seamless when migrating a big piece of important content was left out and as of now no announce to develop a solution. as much as i dont want to but i may have no option but to return and abandon nokia and windows phone altogether, because that is a big deal breaker for me and i'm sure many others. i did not know during my anticipation of this wondeful device, that, i would have this as an issue.
When we connect nokia N8 to media transfer mode to windows 7 then blue screen error shows in "windows apc_index_mismatch". We are not able to transfer music to my N8 from nokia music.
I have a strage problem! Everytime I receive a music file trought bluetooth, I receive it in my message inbox Realy strange! You have any idea how can I resolve this?Oh! By the way, my phone is a Nokia 5230!
After updating to FP2 the phone was working well but after some days each time i boot up the device it always says "System error"i tried to hard rest the device but that didn't work ,also i tried reinstalling the software via nokia suite but with no luck so: if i reflashed the phone myself will that void my warranty?
Im getting this problem since 2 days now. When I send a text message to anyone, I get an error saying ''Messaging: Feature Not Supported". After quite a few attempts the message finally is sent but I dont receive any delivery report even though I have enabled that option. And when I check the sent items or conversations, the recipient is totally someone else! I tried soft reset and the problem solved. But now it came up again. Soft resetting my phone every day is not an option.
I am facing the problem on my N95 8GB where the name of the message sender is not displayed. The phone number is displayed instead without the + sign but with the country code. I have checked that it is not stored as duplicate and its stored in the international format i.e. with the + sign and the country code. Also, only the options of Forward and Delete appear for such messages i.e. i am not able to Reply to the message. The point to be noted is that the name is displayed correctly when there is a incoming call from such a number. I had recently updated my firmware to latest version available with Nokia. I guess the problem has appeared after that.
