Since i tried putting music on my Nokia 500, the phone has always given me the message "Media transfer in progress" when I access music player. I even removed the music and now the library has 0 files but still "Media transfer in progress."
View 1 RepliesI cannot get the media transfer to work with my 808 pureview, it worked fine with my E7 running Anna, but it just get stuck "searching for device" when I plug the 808 in. If I set the 808 to media transfer I get the message "your 808 is not in a mode used for media transfer" then when I swtich it back to Nokia Suite, media transfer gets stuck looking for a device?

The connection manager usb shows not connected. I tried soft reset, restart etc but nothing works. The data cable is ok, I checked on my another 603.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my 5800 for 4mnths and all was working fine then i tried to put sum music on my fone using the usb like i had done previously. this time however the fone would not show as being connected in media transfer mode so i could not use the ovi player to transfer files Ive tried restoring factory settings and updating various thing but nothing has worked. I have found out that i am able to connect via usb for mass storage thou which i dont understand. i hope sumbody out there can help.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI connected my X6 via USB. The screen went blank after I chose media transfer and then came back showing the boot-up screen (white screen with NOKIA in blue letters.) I couldn't switch the device off with the power button so I removed the battery. When I switch it on now, it stays frozen on the boot-up screen and I have to remove the battery again to switch it off.

So the phone was master reseted before any of my pictures or videos were backed up. Usually I would be able to take a recovery program on windows like recuva to get the files back but my problem was, was that the mass storage was encrypted. Would it still be possible access the encrypted data that was reset off the phone?

I set the transfer default on my N8 to Mass Memory for USB transfer and connect to the pc. On my pc the phone shows up as Removable Disk (G). Clicking on it it shows all the folders but there is absolutely nothing in any of them although they exist in the mass memory folders on the phone.

Also tried to backup my messages on Ovi suit and PC suite, well on PC suit it gives me an error saying there is not enough memory(On the PC suite application on my computer) and it backs it up short, only 1000 I think and in OVI suit, I backed it up fine but when tried to restore, it did it and took some time but nothing happened, number of txt messages didn't change.

I have all my contacts synced with my Google account and Windows Live account and I have all the contacts in .vcf and .csv format. How can I get them into my Nokia 808. I tried the "Import contacts" option in PC Suite but it just does not do anything. It acts as though I never asked it to import. So that isnt working. I am using the latest PC Suite which i downloaded from the Nokia website.

I did get it to boot into the OS once, but turned it off to insert the SIM and had the same problem again. Is there anything I can try to get this thing working properly again?
View 28 Replies View RelatedAs Nokia seems to have changed the model for licensing, I can't be the first person to think of simply creating a free downloadable license with an expiration date in 2099 specifically for those of us running 3.01 on E* that aren't yet on the compatibility list. The app runs fine, but I don't get little voices because of the license renewal issue that I've not enjoyed (in the US) previously. Perhaps I'm underestimating the difficulty of doing that, or perhaps 3.01 doesn't know how to do date math beyond a year.

Its still responsive, I can go to the start screen, etc.. but the phone call remains on top with the message "ENDING". After a couple of minutes the phone freezes completely and reboot.

I've been caught a couple of times when leaving voicemail messages by the fact that I press the button, the 'phone plays a "ker-lick" noise and the screen goes black; but when I switch it back on again, the connection's still open and the call is still on-going.
Normally, this isn't an issue, as the call ends when the other party puts their phone down, or the voicemail reaches the end of the available message time; but I recently called someone who's got an honest-to-goodness answerphone on the shelf next to their phone, and it was happy to leave the connection open for well over an hour. As a result, I've just received a bill from my provider costing two-and-a-half times as much as usual - money I can scarce afford as I'm currently "resting" between jobs.
It would be neat if switching the phone off (or, at least, putting the phone on standby) ended the current call.
OK, so we all know Ovi player is, uummm, a bit flaky?I've given up trying to use it and am now using Windows Media Player to transfer music to my X6. This works absolutely fine other than getting the album art onto the phone.
