May 1, 2012I have always used predictive text.Using the Anna software if I wrote a word and it was wrong I could return and re-select the word. Then cycle the words using the *.Now using the Belle software, I cannot return to the word. The cursor just marches through the word letter by letter not selecting it.

Jan 24, 2012So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..
Nokia Nseries :: Can't Write On N8
Sep 13, 2011I just got my N8 back from repair. It died a few weeks ago and wouldn't charge, so they replaced the battery and updated it to Anna at the same time. I got it back today, and now there is no keyboard thingy for me to write on! When I try to start writing a new message it just says "tap to write" in grey, but nothing happens when i tap. It's the same with notes and everything else where I would need the keyboard. The only thing that works is the numberpad, so I can call people, just not write to them

Oct 22, 2010I have about 5500 messages on my N97 and want to transfer them to N8 but when it try the phone switch and transfer them with Bluetooth it literally takes for ever, last time I tried it transferred like 30 in 5 minutes, is there anyway I can make it go faster? Also tried to backup my messages on Ovi suit and PC suite, well on PC suit it gives me an error saying there is not enough memory(On the PC suite application on my computer) and it backs it up short, only 1000 I think and in OVI suit, I backed it up fine but when tried to restore, it did it and took some time but nothing happened, number of txt messages didn't change.

There's-one-little-glitch: Where I live MMS service is - not - available! If I delete even one (1) character I get another pop up saying, 'Msg type changed to text msg.'
Nokia's solution: When the N8 tries to convert to mms go to Options > Sending Options > msg type > Text. Nokia's solution fails immediately after pressing 'Options' because there is NO 'Sending Options' option to select! How - can I disable/remove/get rid of this unwanted/forced MMS change over so I can write and send as many characters as I want/need in SMS (text).

Aug 18, 2011i installed the latest update 071.004 on e72, now text message doesn't work properly. i have to switch off and on once to recieve the msgs. most of the msgs i send will go n sit in outbox. i have to manually select each one and select send option in outbox to send them. Also found problems with bluetooth. send via bluetooth option doesn't work. it doesn't even search for the the devices available.I am also getting 'memory full-close some applications' error in messaging and also in the browsers.my phone has about 191Mb of free space and mem card(8gb) 5.6gb free.

The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.

Jun 18, 2012I own a N8 for 1 and half years and very happy with it. I did not upgrade to Belle because I read lots of people that were not satisfied and wanted to go back to Anna.
Problems I read in the forum in various discussions:1) Camera performance in low light has deteriorated, I love my N8 mainly because of the camera
2) Battery life is worse
3) Applications will be lost and I will need to reinstall them all , plus could never get back the Nokia ones I had free through offers
4) The useful and effective Nokia clock/calendar/profile switcher has been showed the door in favor of a Andoid-style clock
5) Widgets are worse or less effective: the email and music widgets are very big that I don't think I will be very happy wasting lots of space with no alternative.
6) Widgets do not change with theme, I have my nice Anna email/music and other widgets that gets transparent or just adapt to the Theme I choose, I haven't seen that on Belle. That ugly email widget for example is always the same , white on blue.
So basically I feel that I give up lots of useful and efficient features just in order to get a OS that is more fluid , has more homescreens and I can move the widgets and shortcuts around??
I have looked around the forum and there are still people not satisfied but most comments are now old.
