It seems that it's impossible to send configuration message via email.nokia.com, as there is no longer a link to "re-install" the email software.Now it only says "go to email.nokia.com with your mobile phone browser", and when you do, you do get to download the SW, but you don't get the proper configuration message, thus the email is set up in the "inbox way", which is **bleep**..
View 10 RepliesI'm using a Tour on Verizon. The trackball broke and I got a new phone. On this phone, the SMS messages show up as a stream instead of messages. Verizon says they are "working" and wont do anything. This is completely unacceptable.If I want to delete a message- it deletes EVERY SINGLE message I have from that contact including the ones I want to save. I've had to restore SMS from my backup 3 times now- and just give up on deleting anything. They say I have to go and scroll through EVERY list to find specific messages to delete for every person.I also get automated SMS messages from various equipment I monitor at work, and these all show up as one big message with no date/time stamps- and I end up missing important messages because the most recent one is just a "status" message.
When looking at the solid stream of messages many (but not all) of my contacts have a GREAT BIG "Contact information: [Their phone number]" taking up 40% of the screen meaning I have to scroll up and down to read even short SMS messages.How can I get my SMS messages to show up as messages like they are supposed to instead of the "stream of **bleep**" that they show up as now?
I have just got a iphone 4 with an upgrade with t-mobile, put my new sim card in and it says no service sim card provisioning.

I have a Nokia E71 just update to the firmware 410.21.010. I did not recovered backup after the upgrade and I formatted the memory card, so it's completely clean.
Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. It's strange, because I have a different E71 also update to this same firmare and Nokia Messaging works fine and creates the Nokia Messaging account.How could use Nokia Messaging with my E71?. Is there some way to create a Nokia Messaging account form the web instead from the phone?.

I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
I have bought a nokia N86 for about 2 months, but one time the handset dropped on the ground and the outer cover got broken. I went to ask for a spare part but I found it expensive. What made me hesitating is that someone told me that the preinstalled cover is much better than the one I buy from the nokia care service. Is that right? Shall I go and replace my cover or just stick with my cover?

Recently I discover that when I use the web browser to see webpages, some pictures/icons of the webpages won't be able to show correctly and end up showing the broken icon (the icon of a picture torn in half). For example, sometimes the icon of an app in the ovi store can't show correctly and becomes the broken icon. That also happens when I use facebook with the N97, where some avatars of my friends become that broken icon.Does anyone know what the cause of the problem is?

When my secretary took it to the Care Centre to get it fixed (her Chinese is better than mine) they charged RMB200 (about 20 pounds) to repair it. Is this normal? They said that even though the lock was probably faulty I could not prove it.When I called Nokia Care all they could say was 'this is our policy in China'. I like the phone but cannot stand the Nokia customer service these days.

But my mic doesnt work at all.It's pretty much brand new (my dad used it for a few days but didnt like the QWERTY keyboard for texting) and i remember getting a phone call a day or two ago and it was fine.Anyone have any tips or tricks i can try before i send it off for a repair?I'll be phoneless until its fixed because non of my spare phones take micro sims.. and my past experience with sending phones for repairs involved long waits to get them back..

But now when I am using the build in browser to surf to the mobile Facebook website i have broken image links.I don't see the facebook logo, the mobile phone icons But, i can see the people's pictures!When i completely reset my phone it all works again.But a day or two later I have the same problem. And only the Facebook page has this problem, no other website.I don't have the problem when using Opera as a browser, but I want to use the build-in one.The only software I have installed on my phone is Skype, Ovi shop, and Nokia E-mail... In personalisation it definitely shows Contacts as what it should be opening. Any ideas to fix?
View 4 Replies View Relatedso my old nokia n95 is out of warranty, the phone is kinda in bits now, it turns on etc, just the buttons dont work, thats why its apart, I Kinda tried to fix it, I didnt make it worse either though, my problem is the main buttons dont respond, numbers etc do.. I have loads of old pics and videos I wanted to copy over, but when I connect to pc I have to choose an option like data transfer, but I cand as the buttons dont work, is there anyway around that, Theres a lot of memories I need to copy please help if you can.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi had my n900 for a while now.camera lens cover(top part) has peeled off from its glue and the wire makes the cover open and close came loose by itself. i have the warranty but i do not want to send my phone just for the cover for 2 weeks. is there any place on web that i can order the lens cover only and replace it my self. its very east to remove since its plastic base.i only have the blue base on the phone now and it is loose so its keep opening the camera mode. very annoying. please help.

So, 2 months ago, We went to the local Nokia Care Point (there is only one in Guadeloupe). We went today to this shop to have news about my mobile and, the guy explained me that the nokia's factory bring them up the phone and could'n repair it... He gave me back my phone, but he didn't give me back my poor little micro-USB port.
So, I have 2 questions :
First : what are the solutions proposed by Nokia for the customers in French West Indies (Guadeloupe and Martinique) ?
Second : why do you propose low quality services for us (comparatively with "normal" customers from France) ?
I just got a brand new N900. I wonder whether wifi is broken - I cannot see any access points when I click on "Internet Connections". (There are about 5-10 in my neighbourhood and I have my own wireless router.) Also, if I go to "Setting" -> "Connectivity" -> "Internet Connections" and then try to setup a new connection and scan for "available wi-fi networks" it doesn't find any. Even if I enter the setting by "hand" (i.e., my SSID etc.) I cannot connect, nor does it show the connection as available.Does anyone have an idea how I can find out whether that's a hardware problem?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my lumia 800 for a year now and loved it, but unfortunately I dropped it on the corner closest to the sim card slot, and it appears that the clip which stops the sim card holder from springing up has been damaged so it won't stay in place anymore and pops up. This obviously means that the phone doesnt detect the sim and turns off.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThree days ago the side lock key on my eight-month-old 701 broke in the course of normal use - I didn't drop it or anything like that - I was just trying to lock the screen in the normal way. There is plainly a mechanical fault as the slide doesn't spring back when you move it.
I took it into Nokia Care here in Taipei and, to my surprise, they told me a) that it can only be fixed by replacing the phone's motherboard and b) that I would have to call Nokia to see whether they were willing to cover it under the guarantee. (It seems that the few remaining Nokia care centres in Taiwan are contracted out and given little or no discretion.) Interestingly they showed me another 701 motherboard with the slide broken in the same way.
Yesterday, Nokia Taiwan called back saying that the limited guarantee specifically excludes damage to the exterior of the phone and that if I wanted it repaired I would have to pay for it.
I have now checked the terms of the guarantee (available in Chinese on Nokia Taiwan's web site) and this simply isn't true. There are exclusions for improper use or modification, acts of god, normal wear and tear, replacement of consumables (fuses are specifically mentioned) and damage to or breakage of aerials, but nothing about damage to switches or anything else of on the exterior of the phone.
Regardless of the details of the guarantee exclusions, I am appalled at Nokia Taiwan's attitude, and would be very grateful if other users could tell me if they have had similar problems with side locks, or with repairs that should be covered under guarantee.

The local Nokia repair store says my 3-month-old Lumia has a "broken" USB connector. This seemed so outrageous that I searched and found this forum with several similiar complaints hidden in other threads. The symptom is that the phone won't charge... which is similiar to several other software related problems. However, to reduce confusion, let's please focus this thread on broken/damaged USB connectors.If your phone won't charge, you can check if you have a broken USB. Just look at yours in comparison to a USB connector on a different phone. I believe this is a manufacturing/part failure in the Nokia. I did not damage my phone. Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)
