I updated my firmware yesterday and everything seems fine after restoring user data - except for when I hit the Contacts hotkey - it says "Application no longer available - restoring to original key setting." In personalisation it definitely shows Contacts as what it should be opening. Any ideas to fix?

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust updated to new firmware 51.0.006 (RM-356) Nokia 5800 and I dont know whether I am just thinking this but the phone seems faster now in operation (maybe with the firmware update it cleared cahes and whatnot maybe thats all it is) - one of the things that was supposed to be changed in the new firmware is browser changes, but I cannot seem to see any diffrerence the layout still looks the same to me. improved mail for exchange dont affect me because i dont use it, improved video call dont affect me because I dont use that, but they did list improved browser and improved performance so thats good anyway. Anyone else tried the new 51.0.006 (RM-356) yet?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI updated the firmware in my phone to 31.023 and have now noted the following bugs with the MfE client with Exchange 2003:
Initial sync goes ok. After initial sync, "always on" mail times out and stops working. It does not resync 15 minutes later. A manual sync will retrieve mail. After initial sync, contact changes are no longer synced. Further contact syncs fail. If contact sync is disabled, other syncs work ok. I wish I hadn't bothered doing the update!
My phone has the product code 0589649 (printed on the back) and I can't find any information about it. Also there is no updated of the firmware, even if other product codes have it. When I search on the Nokia website I get: "Sorry, there is no software currently available for that product code via the Nokia Software Update tool". I tried the Nokia support, but the answer was just senseless.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to version V500.21.009 my firmware, and from then on my gallery stopped to support any of my existing files, no images, nor music or video files...I am very frustrated,angry and disappointed and of course, I can't change back to older version firmware .I am planning to buy a new Nokia E72, but if the support for my current phone is so bad I might reconsider my plans and go other way, Apple or HTC.

After updating to new firmware via online. Whenever I type using the qwerty keyboard the letters do not appear in the box. Although they are there i.e. when I go back to message screen then what I have typed is there. Anyone who has same problems along with a solution please.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently updated my firmware version to 05.15, and upon starting Maps (sorry I don't know which version I have currently), I get an error saying "Cannot open application. Get latest version from nokia.com/maps". I've downloaded the appropriate file (selected using the tool on the website), but I cannot install version 3.01 as my phone will not install a .sis file. Is there a .sisx version of Maps which I'm obviously not seeing somewhere? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Phone restarted by itself, after that I turned on music player. I saw message that Looking music and podcast etc. Now this message just stays there forever. SO I restarted again and try to refresh library but no luck. There are tons of song in memory card but they wont load in music player. I got this problem after new firware update.

1- when i opened the gallery and songs the device gave me the message "searching for music and podcasts" so i waited but the message has been for the last 3 hours.
2- when some one calls me when the device is locked it gives me 2 options to answer and to unlock the phone using the touch screen but however i touch any option nothing happens.
I just dropped my Lumia 800 phone on the floor and now the screen is black, phone seems to works as it makes sounds, vibrates and connects to Zune software. I urgently need to rescue my contacts from that phone, unfortunately I havent set up live account in the beginning so I dont have them online. How can I get my contacts to my computer, etc without being able to see what phone is doing ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated the firmware on my X3-02 following to the letter the instructions as supplied on the website and through Ovi PC Suite. Now everytime I switch off my phone any settings I've made are lost. This includes everything from time and date through to shortcuts specified in the "Go To" drop down menu.
Also now I cannot apply any themes, it doesn't know what kind of files are on the handset. Loads of applications have been lost. It no longer supports chat, facebook etc. In other words it's pretty buggered. Luckily it still makes and receives calls and SMS.I made a backup before I did the upgrade, but if I restore the handset from that backup all it gives me is the same problems with all my original files, contacts etc.
And if I try to update the firmware to Version 6 through PC OVI Suite it tells me that there are no updates available and that beingt 5.65 is up to date. Same problem with stand alone OVI software updater.An if I try to update by going through the menu on the handset, I cannot enter details for OVI to make a connection.It's really frustrating to say the least. Any body out there "NOKIA" HINT HINT.It's on Orange UK network PAYG.
What does this mean and whats the fix; "the iPhone could not be updated because the firmware is not compatible"?

Trying to update iphone 4 from software 4.3.5 to 5.1.1, have tried this twice, but each time I receive an error message telling me that the phone can't be updated because the firmware file is not compatible. I called Apple Support who advised me to restore and update and said this would work. I tried this but after 45 mins that didn't work either, wouldn't even restore, I just got the same error message.

after I updated to belle FP1 from the phone itself (sw update) the contacts do not work, the list is dislpayed but if I choose a contact a black screen appears and contacts program crashes.I did the following:Hard reset the phone by turning off then pressing the home+volumedown+camera+ON buttons, but did not help. (this step made me lose all ovi apps such as maps, store,...etc)Connected the phone to OVI suite and made a software re-install but also wasn't helpful still the contacts do not work and lost the most important apps.

1. Contacts Labels are not getting changed specially "Mobile" and "Telephone" which are mostly used.I have around 2500 Contacts, in previous version 033.002 i Faced errors like "Contacts : Memory full : close some applications and try again". It also says something even more weird "Pbk2ServerApp : Memory Full. Close some application and try again".
I am able change the labels of few heads like First, Last name, Company etc but not of "Mobile" and "Telephone"I also tried to downgrade the firmware using "Phoenix" and tried flashing 021.013 , 022.009 , 031.012 and 033.002 but phone remains dead will all.The most amazing thing is that the phone is also not accepting 033.002 from which I upgraded. I also tried enabling SW Downgrade option in Phoenix but no success.Now I am stuck up with 033.003 with no labels editing

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.

Kies recently updated firmware on my SII & loaded kies update to PC as well. Now when I sync with outlook 2007 it sets all meeting times to start & finish at the same time on the phone. So apt created in outllook to start say 8am & finish 10am. Sync then puts it in phone calendar but set start AND finish to 8am. I rely on this so really need it fixed.

I can do texts based on my contacts, and phone recognises numbers from incoming calls.But for some reason the contacts hotkey wont being up my contacts, which is making calling people a little difficult. I have tried setting the key to be something different and changing back to no avail.

There is one small problem though, in settings ->battery usage its fully charged and saying i have 1m 50 s on battery?!! And when i open the graph it says i have 27 seconds on battery! Whats going on? How can i fix this? I hope this is not a true indication of my current battery level and will cut out at anytime.
