i backed up my nokia N95 with nokia ovi suite , result is a file with NBU extension about 120 MB. after i cleared all data on my phone, ovi failed to read the file. i tested other program for openeing it, but all not answered,

I've installed Ovi Suite on win 7 64 bit.First of all, ovi doesn't start wehn I connect my N95 8GB. I didn't touch the default setting to it is set to start when a phone is detected.Once I start OVI Suite manually it recognizes my N95 8GB and everything seems to work fine.However, when I try to run a .sis file, windows 7 doesn't associate this file with Ovi. when I try to set the file association manually, Ovi isn't an option amongs the available applications.I've now installed PC Suite and it is now associated with .sis files.I've then unistalled and reinstalled Ovi Suite, but it is still not the application associated with .sis and is still not available wehn tyring to set the association manually.It still doesn't open when I connct the N95 8GB either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy z2 has a camera problem. initially worked fine , then stopped taking photos - they show as broken files and can't be opened. I factory reset the phone and the camera worked for one day. it then stopped taking photos - when you take a pic, it shows the little orange circle going round and round , but then doesn't store the photo. Yesterday I cleared the cache and this appeared to make it work. The camera now takes photos, but I cannot message or bluetooth them - just says could not add item. I tried to transfer them to my computer , via usb and they all show as broken files , but with the .jpg extension , so not the lost.dir problem. Any better camera to download thru playstore that works well ...

With a view to copying the file to my E71 phone, I connected the phone to PC (Dell Studio 1558 system running W7 HP) via the USB (using the PC Siute mode in the first attempt and then the Mass Storage mode in my next attempt). I then proceeded to open the video file's shortcut menu and, in the Send To destinations, hit my phone's link that was being displayed as the E71 icon. But PC Suite reported inability to "copy the file". In the case of Mass Storage option too, the result was similar. Strangely, in several instances of my effort PC Suite was even found reporting that the "device has stopped responding or disconnected from PC" even though Suite's Home Page was showing my phone's icon as being in sync. s shortcut menu and, in the Send To destinations, hit my phone

The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? I have a Nokia 5800 XM. I am not able to receive any file via Bluetooth if that file is not openable by Nokia. ie., if I receive a jpg or mp3 file, it receives fine, and when I open it from Messages, it tries to open it, and then I save it from the Message to the Gallery.But when I try to receive some other type of files which is not supported by the mobile, it receives the message, but it fails to open the bluetooth message and as a result, I am not able to save it to the Mass Memory. It says Un supported files.
Say for instance, I am trying to receive a docx (Microsoft Word) file, then I face this problem.Is there any way to save the file directly to any folder in memory without trying to open the received message?Had it been some protected files like .SIS or .SISX then I would agree, but It's bad if I am not able to receive general files.

It seems that it's impossible to send configuration message via email.nokia.com, as there is no longer a link to "re-install" the email software.Now it only says "go to email.nokia.com with your mobile phone browser", and when you do, you do get to download the SW, but you don't get the proper configuration message, thus the email is set up in the "inbox way", which is **bleep**..

When my secretary took it to the Care Centre to get it fixed (her Chinese is better than mine) they charged RMB200 (about 20 pounds) to repair it. Is this normal? They said that even though the lock was probably faulty I could not prove it.When I called Nokia Care all they could say was 'this is our policy in China'. I like the phone but cannot stand the Nokia customer service these days.
