Nokia Lumia :: Broken Screen & Rescue Contacts?
Dec 12, 2012I just dropped my Lumia 800 phone on the floor and now the screen is black, phone seems to works as it makes sounds, vibrates and connects to Zune software. I urgently need to rescue my contacts from that phone, unfortunately I havent set up live account in the beginning so I dont have them online. How can I get my contacts to my computer, etc without being able to see what phone is doing ?

Mar 18, 2012Earlier today I was speaking to my friend on my Nokia Lumia 800. When the call ended I took the phone from my ear to hang up the call, but the screen had gone completely blank.I know the phone is on and it is charged. When I press any of the back arrow ← / windows icon / magnifying glass, the phone does react in the same way it does if I were to touch these when the phone is on, but locked.However, nothing appears on the screen it just remains blank.I have tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rang as it would if my phone was on but the screen is still blank.Has the screen permanently died and the phone need replacing?

Dec 4, 2012I have a nokia lumia 800, when im on a call the screen stays blank so i cant access any of the in call options? i dont have a screen protector on the phone, i have run the diagnostics app and the the proximity sensor is responding fine!! so it leads me to think its a software issue?

Sep 11, 2014I've been using the Lumia 1520 for almost 3 weeks now, and so far I noticed two things , one it rebooted two times , once when I opened calendar and another when I opened battery saver , it's a bit weird and hope it doesn't happen again.
Okay the important thing , there are some blank lines beneath apps like viber and whatsapp, moreover there's a big line just in the middle of the Facebook messenger app, so is it me ?
Lumia 1520 :: Screen Will Go Blank For A Second And Then Back
Aug 12, 2014My wife's new 1520 has the 8.1 developer preview on it. She has been using it for a month or so & then recently as she was using it, the screen would completely turn black. A second later (or 1/2 second) everything on her display would come right back up. It appears the same as if you were changing the display resolution on a pc, the screen blanks out for a second & then to the new resolution. The phone isn't hot, nor was it recently charged. It doesn't matter what app is running. In fact, I hard resetted it yesterday & it still does it.
I noticed yesterday, after I completely resetted it, I was using IE & the screen went blank, then back on, but the screen was upside down. This lead me to believe it was a sensor, so I turned on the rotation lock. Since then it has never come back on upside down, but it still goes blank. It really appears as a hardware issue. I started with a clean slate & the problem still persists.

Oct 31, 2012Trying to call using my Lumia 800 today and I can't hear or be heard by anyone I call. Loudspeaker works, and so do my headphones. But my mic doesnt work at all.It's pretty much brand new (my dad used it for a few days but didnt like the QWERTY keyboard for texting) and i remember getting a phone call a day or two ago and it was fine.Anyone have any tips or tricks i can try before i send it off for a repair?I'll be phoneless until its fixed because non of my spare phones take micro sims.. and my past experience with sending phones for repairs involved long waits to get them back..

Nov 13, 2012i have a lumia 820 that i purchased 2 days ago. today, i opened the case to see where the microsd card would go and then put the back piece back on the phone.tonight, i wanted to watch a Internet video and when i pushed up on the volume button, it wouldn't go up, only down. the usual click was gone too. i opened the case to see if something got stuck and the little copper thingee is missing for the volume up button. i can a little bit of it sticking out from where it used to be?

Aug 29, 2012I've had my lumia 800 for a year now and loved it, but unfortunately I dropped it on the corner closest to the sim card slot, and it appears that the clip which stops the sim card holder from springing up has been damaged so it won't stay in place anymore and pops up. This obviously means that the phone doesnt detect the sim and turns off.

This seemed so outrageous that I searched and found this forum with several similiar complaints hidden in other threads. However, to reduce confusion, let's please focus this thread on broken/damaged USB connectors.If your phone won't charge, you can check if you have a broken USB. Just look at yours in comparison to a USB connector on a different phone. I believe this is a manufacturing/part failure in the Nokia. I did not damage my phone. Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)

Sep 24, 2010I have had an X6 for about a month now, and the slider keyguard on the phone had broken off. The phone is now in a permanent state of saying 'use keyguard to unlock keys and screen'. Obviously I cant because it doesn't work!!
I have tried leaving it switched off for 15 mins, and restating it. This lets me restart the time and date but then locks once the phone opens up. I have tried a drawing pin and paper clip to slide the keyguard without the keyguard but to no avail.

I went to sleep last night and everything was working fine, and when I woke up this morning my phone was totally blank.
At first I thought it probably just turned itself off because of the battery but the battery was fully charged. I cannot see anything, the screen looks as if the phone is turned off, but in fact the phone is on since I can here the keypad tones when I press anything.

Jan 11, 2010my n97 wouldn't charge nor turn on whatever I just see the little led charge light on, I understood this is a software problem with the battery management program which is ridiculous but found myself without a phone so decided to remove battery and take off the plug to an old phone and connect the + and - directly to the battery for 10mins and conected the battery back up turned phone on and connected it onto the main N97 charger and it started normally.

Aug 17, 2010I just bought my Nokia 5530.There are a couple of problems I have been having though- sometimes when I am making a call and want to end it before the person answers, the screen becomes unresponsive. Also sometimes when I am in the middle of the call and want to access the dialler (for typing in an extensions for example), the screen does not automatically come back up from its 'dark mode' and the only way i am able to end the call is turning it off completely.Is there something I should do to prevent this, or is my phone just defective? May 25, 2010i have for over 8 months a nokia n97. besides all the other issues that i already gave up on complaining, there's a camera issue that's ultra-annoying and that will lead me to take the phone to a nokia care center. the camera only works around 20% of the times... i press the camera button, or slide the lens windows, and the camera function gets turned on but i can only see a black screen, no image. sometimes rebooting the phone gets the camera to work, but not all the times, and even if it gets working, after some shots the problem reappears. when this issue occurs the video playback also doesn't work (for recorded videos and even for Internet) .i've already tried hard reseting the phone, installing the latest available firmware update (20.0.0.19), and the problem only keeps getting worst.from what i could see from google, there's several people complaining about this (example http://www.zedge.net/forum/t/73008/nokia-n97-camera-problem/ or http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=a8flxtl3bqy ).what i'd like to know is if anyone had this issue, and how did nokia solved it (or not) ?
