I have my N97 updated to the latest firmware, and when I try to list the installed application, it just blank the screen and returns to the main menu. Does anyone is facing same problem ?
After updating to Lollipop 5.1, I noticed my screen is blank after using any app (messaging, GMail, etc.) and it won't come back. Calls and texts and other notices come (can actually answer calls and see the call screen) through, but home screen and any adjacent screens are all black. The status bar and icons are visible though and I can use the pull down menu. It's as if it is refreshing but never gets to the end. I installed many apps, even used a stock wallpaper), but it still will do this. I have to keep rebooting until it eventually stops; I check it by using a random app and seeing if I can see the screen by pressing the Home button. I also wiped the cache partition after the OS upgrade.
I am hoping someone can help me, i dont have anything on my phone regarding the ovi store, but in my apps manager there is ovi store client (461kb),its on my phone memory (not mass memory),i keep on trying to uninstall it ,it does remove, but when i go back in to have a look, the damn things there again,i just continue to try and remove it but it keeps on coming back!
I have been using my phone for a few days now. So far it's pretty good. I've only got a few minor problems, but they are annoying me.
1-Battery indicator shows five bars all day, until I turn the phone off and on again and then goes down to three. I did that just now and after a few minutes it went back up to four bars. Is this a common problem?
2-this is for any vodafone users, my vodafone app manager always asks to be updated whenever I go into it, but it's at the latest version. any ideas on how to get it to stop?
I am using Nokia E63 Mobile Device. Recently I re-installed my Mobile Operating System through Nokia Customer Care - but still I am seeing Application references in 'App Manager'. How do I completely remove / Delete these application references from my Device?
I did a partial restore using the Nokia Suite, selecting only the "Device settings an applications" content (I wanted to restore a theme that I wasn't able to download again without purchasing a second time). The restoral was successful and I have the theme back. The problem is that several other themes that I no longer want were also put back on my N8. I go to Settings>Application manager>Installed apps, however none of the restored themes are listed (they are all taking up Device Memory). how I can delete these items from my phone and thus free up the memory they are occupying?
N96 was working fine until two weeks ago, hasnt been dropped or damaged so i can only think its the update of software.i have reset it and still i have the same problem. If I slide open to answer calls or messages or use the menu's by opening it as if to use the media player (ie slide down) it works fine. If I slide up i get a blank screen and it takes absolutely ages to get the menu n screen When a call comes in screen goes blank except for a few lines (top middle)
I've got a strange problem with my 5800, when I want to enter application manager > installed applications my phone restarts. From recent installed applications a major ones would be Ovi Maps and (today) Java 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs. I am not sure which one could cause the described problem, but I think it would be Java. Why? Because without memory card present I can enter 'installed apps' without any problem. I have to tell you, that only in my opinion Java causes that, I don't know if any other doesn't. How to manage the problem without a hard reset? I really wouldn't like to install all my stuff once again.
I've forgot one important thing to tell you - software version 31.0.101 (31.0.101.385.03), language is 06 (polish).Message Edited by Yarcio on 02-Feb-2010 03:25 PM
I am having issues trying to backup my phone to the mini-SD card. Whenever I try to backup the phone, during the 'Preparing backup' stage I get the message:
File Manager : Memory Full. Close some applications and try again
I have uninstalled any unnecessary apps from the C: drive and cleared out unwanted files . This is how much memory I have available:
RAM : 51mb / 120mb
C: 41mb/86mb
D: 51mb/43mb
E: 5869mb/ 7596mb
I have recently carried out a hard reset on the handset and upgraded the software, so this is not the solution. This was a problem before doing this and remains an issue now. I know that I can backup the phone on my PC but I would like to resolve this so I can backup the phone on the fly.
I have a serious problem. I was using my N79 (actually I was playing a game) and suddently the screen went crazy by showing random patterns. I turned off the phone, and when I turned it back on, the screen was blank. The backlight is OK, the phone works fine but the screen is blank.
I was a proud owner of Nokia E61i until yesterday.
I went to sleep last night and everything was working fine, and when I woke up this morning my phone was totally blank.
At first I thought it probably just turned itself off because of the battery but the battery was fully charged. I cannot see anything, the screen looks as if the phone is turned off, but in fact the phone is on since I can here the keypad tones when I press anything.
Is there any way to stop the screen going blank on my 6700 after only a few second? keep pressing a key to get it back up. The screen saver is set to off
Okay i've had my Nokia n97 for more than 6months now and its been working great except lately my facebook app wasn't working and i had to update it,so last night i backed up my files on my mobile and i connected it to the pc and updated it with the program that the mobile brings with a cd it was okay then i went back to restore my files and it said it had to restart so it turned off and i went to turn it on again and it stayed a blank screen with the nokia sign in the middle in blue (when you turn it on it that usually shows) but it stayed stuck there it doesn't go to pin code nor anything, and to turn it off i have to take the battery off,
My E71 screen goes blank and hangs while charging. This happend two times to me now. I cannot turn off the phone also. But I can answer the calls. My firmware version is 410.21.010.
From this morning, i obtain a blank screen when i try to create or read a text message on my Nokia 3110c. The blank screen disappear itself after 10 sec, back to home page.Seems that also some issues appears at the same time: Music player cannot read the library, error message at boot saying "Theme cannot be loaded".
I updated the software without success. Suppressed all messages or music, checked the free memory, nothing help.
my n97 wouldn't charge nor turn on whatever I just see the little led charge light on, I understood this is a software problem with the battery management program which is ridiculous but found myself without a phone so decided to remove battery and take off the plug to an old phone and connect the + and - directly to the battery for 10mins and conected the battery back up turned phone on and connected it onto the main N97 charger and it started normally.
I just bought my Nokia 5530.There are a couple of problems I have been having though- sometimes when I am making a call and want to end it before the person answers, the screen becomes unresponsive. Also sometimes when I am in the middle of the call and want to access the dialler (for typing in an extensions for example), the screen does not automatically come back up from its 'dark mode' and the only way i am able to end the call is turning it off completely. Is there something I should do to prevent this, or is my phone just defective? Help is needed because I think my local warranty is going to be up soon!
i have for over 8 months a nokia n97. besides all the other issues that i already gave up on complaining, there's a camera issue that's ultra-annoying and that will lead me to take the phone to a nokia care center. the camera only works around 20% of the times... i press the camera button, or slide the lens windows, and the camera function gets turned on but i can only see a black screen, no image. sometimes rebooting the phone gets the camera to work, but not all the times, and even if it gets working, after some shots the problem reappears. when this issue occurs the video playback also doesn't work (for recorded videos and even for Internet) .i've already tried hard reseting the phone, installing the latest available firmware update (20.0.0.19), and the problem only keeps getting worst.from what i could see from google, there's several people complaining about this (example http://www.zedge.net/forum/t/73008/nokia-n97-camera-problem/ or http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=a8flxtl3bqy ).what i'd like to know is if anyone had this issue, and how did nokia solved it (or not) ?
my n8 screen blank when i switch on...but i can sense my touch screen works...n my menu button light on when i switch on... but my screen blank doesn't show anything...
I connected my X6 via USB. The screen went blank after I chose media transfer and then came back showing the boot-up screen (white screen with NOKIA in blue letters.) I couldn't switch the device off with the power button so I removed the battery. When I switch it on now, it stays frozen on the boot-up screen and I have to remove the battery again to switch it off.
that when they go into settings>Application manager>Installed files.tell me what happens coz mine just goes blank so I have to press the red button to go to standby and then wait for the phone to unfreeze itself to get the screen to touch work again. Is this normal?
My friend has this mobile Nokia 5130 XpressMusic and its updated to its latest version "V7" but now he has this problem. When he turns on the phone its comes to this Nokia screen and then everything goes blank white and after a few seconds it turns off automatically.and he cant use his phone now...so please someone if can please help me fix it.
Phone is two months old. Worked fine. Now all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, the display screen, is lit up, but, blank. Can't get Nokia greeting, nothing. Can call out,can receive calls, but, can't view screen. Removed battery, for whole night, put back in. Sim card is fine...still...blank screen.
Need help...any suggestions., or is the phone just useless now?
Earlier today I was speaking to my friend on my Nokia Lumia 800. When the call ended I took the phone from my ear to hang up the call, but the screen had gone completely blank.I know the phone is on and it is charged. When I press any of the back arrow ← / windows icon / magnifying glass, the phone does react in the same way it does if I were to touch these when the phone is on, but locked. However, nothing appears on the screen it just remains blank.I have tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rang as it would if my phone was on but the screen is still blank.Has the screen permanently died and the phone need replacing?
I have just noticed that when I start to make a call on my 701 the screen goes blank when it starts to dial so you don't no if its dialling or shut down especially if it wait a long time to connect and you have no dialling tone. I have the screen up with the red and green squares but as soon as you dial it goes blank.
I have the latest version of Ovi maps installed on my N8. I have downloaded and installed local area maps (Guangdong, Hong Kong and Philippines).I have checked and re-checked all the settings from other forum discussions. Everything looks orrect...BUT when I try to zoom in, it's as if I have NO maps loaded...just a pale green screen with a message 'no detailed info.....then the app crashes after 15 seconds and I'm back to the home screen!!!I wish I could delete this app completely from my phone and use Nokia maps (like I had on my N82) but it won't let me.What a heap of JUNK! biggest waste of money in my life. All my iphone 3 and 4 colleagues are laughing at my 'good fortune'.
I have a nokia lumia 800, when im on a call the screen stays blank so i cant access any of the in call options? i dont have a screen protector on the phone, i have run the diagnostics app and the the proximity sensor is responding fine!! so it leads me to think its a software issue?
