Aug 20, 2010I have a nokia 5800 rm-428 v.51.2.007, always show the application MENU as open even after closing. I did HARD RESET but still appears.

Feb 14, 2010when i go for Settings>Connectivity options and then exit from everything, my mobile keeps showing that Settings are still open (small circle over the icon). when i try to inside settings again, the screen goes blank or returns to normal menu.

Feb 2, 2010When I start my phone the accelerometer does not work, if i push the app button the menu stays over there, if i start the phone and push the button in landscape mode the menu stays there and if i push in portrait mode it stays there forever, but the car game works fine, I had this problem with Nokia 5800 that I sold and now I have the same problem with 5800 Navigation Edition.

Jan 22, 2010I just downloaded the latest version of Ovi Maps for my 5800. I've seen loads of articles which show a menu screen like the one below, but I don't get this. Why not?Also, if I try to bring up traffic information, it tells me that I need to pay for a licence. I thought this was all supposed to be free now. I only downloaded the program last night, so I assume it's the latest version.

I removed my battery like 3 times and and restarted it, it is still there. The application says "tweeting" under it. I even restored it and the problem still exists. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. When I pull the battery out, and leave it out for whatever length of time (I tried 10-20 min), as soon as the battery is back in, it turns itself on.As of the last few days, it has decided than when I place it on a table, or sometimes just getting moved around in my pocket, it wants to restart...
I do NOT want to send it back to manufacturer, as they will give me a $4 phone to use, and still charge me data rates and all that for 8 weeks.... But is there a fix for this, like a program or something that alters what the power button does? Can I disable the power button at all? Other than this issue, my phone is awesome! And if there IS a way of disabling, is there a way I can shut down not using this button, like if my phone freezes or something, besides pulling the battery?

Jan 5, 2011I bought a slightly used 9550 and i'm from Srilanka. I use an application which some times would not respond and can't be close from the menu as the menue is not pop up when i press the bb key. When this app stucks touch screen won't work fine and when am pressing an icon, phone highlights another icon.
Is there any method to close this stuck app other than removing the battary.

Jan 6, 2010I just purchased a Nokia 5800 and I happened to notice that when i receive a text message, it does not show the name of the sender in the main screen. I have seen other Nokia phones and I am sure the phone must display the sender's name or number in the home screen as soon as the message arrives, but mine just says 1 New Message instead of 1 New Message from xyz. Are there any settings I need to change or is it this way itself in 5800?

Apr 14, 2012I have a new Nokia 701, which I bought yesterday. The first thing I did when I got it home was to check with Nokia suite to see whether FP1 for Belle was available here in Taiwan. Apparently it is not, but Nokia suite did tell me that I should install a new version of the Nokia maps software, which I duly did. It then said that I should download new maps, which I also did.
After going through the rest of the phone setup, I started checking various things I found that the map application would not open. When I press on the icon I get a spinning circle in the middle of the screen which remains for about a second, then smaller circle in the top left of the map icon which stays for a couple of seconds. The circles go away and nothing opens.
