Motorola Atrix 4G :: Email App Only Shows Me "Set Up Existing Accounts"
Aug 17, 2011Brand new Atrix owner here, new to Android. Every time I try to open the default Email app (2nd from the left on the dock), I can only see the "Set up existing accounts" screen where I can add stuff like myspace and facebook accounts. I am linked to a gmail and twitter account, but I can't figure out how to get to my gmail from here. (I can get to it fine from the gmail app.)
Is something wrong, or is this just an accounts set up app and not an email app at all?
BB Torch :: Existing Email Accounts Cannot Be Activated?
Jun 29, 2010I have a Torch on which I currently have 4 seperate e mail accounts. I travel fairly frequently between 3 countries each of which I have a local sim card for and a BB data plan. Normally when I travel and switch the sin card I simply enter setup select e mail and enter the appropriate password for each of my accounts then hit "activate" This has always worked perfectly. I have just changed my sim and once again all my e mail accounts are listed. However after entering all the passwords the activate button will not repsond and indeed is shaded as if it is unavailable. If I select verify for any of the passwords I get a message "Sorry, unable to continue your session. log in again" I have rebooted the phone numerous times with no difference.

Sep 5, 2011My bb bold was sent off for repaid and I picked it up yesterday and tried to load the 3 email accounts which were present on it before it went in for repaid. I have managed to load my hotmail account however when I try to load the other two email accounts it says that I need t verifiy the details. I have confirmed that the details are correct however I'm having no luck.

When I go to "setup - email accounts - I have an option of Internet Mail Account and Enterprise Account. Apr 18, 2012I've transferred my apps/games/etc to iTunes already. Every now and then I get bored of a game on my iPod/iPhone and I delete it. I can delete it because I also know I can download it again, since I have all my previous purchases saved on my Computer (in iTunes). Can I sync individual apps/games to my iPhone and leave what I had on there without it being deleted? I know I can manually choose a game/app and transfer it via iTunes, but is it possible to do this without having to re-arrange and start "fresh"?
The only other way is to re-download the app/game directly on my iPhone. I have over 200 apps on my iPhone, thats why it bugs me (having to re-arrange and organise all my stuff). If I come to transfer an individual app/game, iTunes resets my phone to default and I have to manually setup everything. All I want to do is ADD one app, without affecting the current structure/layout/apps that are already installed on my iPhone. Is this not possible???

BB Software :: Denies Access To Existing Accounts?
Oct 28, 2010I switched from a Blackberry Curve to a BB Torch 9800, transferring all data from the old to the new BB via the BB Desktop Manager. There were 4 internet mail accounts on the old BB, and icons for the same accounts are now present on the BB Torch 9800. Problems: (1) Even though there are the icons, I cannot send or receive e-mails on the BB from/on any of the four accounts. (2) So I went to the set-up icon, selected "e-mail accounts", the BB did the "connecting to e-mail settings", and a log-on page to existing user accounts appears, asking for user name (the e-mail address, presumably) and the respective password. But here is what I cannot resolve: No matter what I type in the user name field and the password field, the BB always says "The user name is invalid. A user name must be at least 4 characters". A blatantly absurd reaction, for none of my user names has so few characters.

Jan 31, 2010I'm having problems accessing any websites at all.I'm on the 3 network and can access all of their own free to browse stuff, but when i try to access social networking or BBC sites or anything else, it shows a message saying 'unable to connect please try again later'.I really don't know what the issue is, and after contacting 3 they aren't filling me with confidence that they know either.Also i do not have the option of adding my existing gmail account to my blackberry.

Sep 13, 2011I have been using various Android phones now for quite a while (including some Motorola ones) and I've never had this happen before..I have multiple email accounts setup on my phone (both Exhange and POP). In the past, I could use the "Email" icon and tap on the name of the email account at the top and it would drop down a list of email accounts on the phone and then I could choose the one that I wanted. Now, when I click on the name of the email account, I get a list of folders on the default account. I cannot find a way to switch accounts other than going to the Messaging icon and picking it there. I do not like the universal inbox. I would love to know a shortcut if anyone has figured this out other than having to go to the messaging section.

Sep 20, 2011i am having problems with my bionic adding accounts under the my accounts settings area. every time i try to add my picasa, facebook, Internet, or twitter it says 'an error has occurred please try again later'. when trying to add an email account it says auto setup is not available for the provider (tried with my gmail, yahoo, hotmail, & verizon accounts). i got around that by finding the manual values to fill in for each provider account, but that's just email. i am pretty miffed on the others not working.
mostly because i would like to have picasa in my gallery and be able to share photos from gallery or after taking with camera app to picasa and/or facebook. i do not want to have the facebook for android app on my phone, so just having the account set up in blur would be sufficient. i have tried taking my timezone off the automatic setting and retrying to add picasa account, still no joy. still in my 14 day trial with the bionic and am certainly being swayed by this issue

Dec 22, 2011I just activated a Photon and I think I made a huge mistake. The email client only syncs 30 days' worth of email? There's no way to sync older messages? I don't keep much in my inbox but I do keep messages older than 30 days and I need to go back to them from time to time.I suppose the obvious workaround is to use a 3rd party mail program, but please let me know if there is a workaround. I was stunned to see this limitation.

Aug 14, 2012Have Photon for 10 months. Did firmware update (45.4.13.MB855.Sprint.en.US) a few weeks ago, no change in operation. A few days ago, phone stopped retrieving mail from Android mail app and from Yahoo Mail app. I've always had "Battery & data manager" > Battery Mode > (set to) Maximum battery saver. Always retrieved mail as appropriate for mode.
Tried nighttime saver and performance mode. Pulled battery. Still no mail retrieval. If I open mail apps, they will retrieve mail, but not automatically as before.

I enter the email info (my.name@mydomain.com), my password, the GoDaddy mail host name (pop.secureserver.net), port 110, security type NONE, and tap "Next." It thinks for a few seconds,with "Checking incoming server settings..." then comes back with "Couldn't finish:Username or password incorrect." (Server name, port, and security type are per GoDaddy directions.)
