Motorola Droid Turbo :: Started Freezing And Constant Reboots
Jan 24, 2015
So I've had the Turbo for about a month now and am extremely upset with the constant reboots. For the first few weeks the phone worked fine, nothing was out of the ordinary.
However, within this past week the phone has started freezing... I'll be using it and then suddenly the screen freezes and sits there and reboots itself. It does this a few times a day....
As above on o2 had it almost a month now, had a few freezes in the first week but were few and far between. In the last week or 2 though they have been getting progressively more and more and now in the last couple of days have also been joined by random reboots.
I haven't been able to trace them to any installed app as they happen completely randomly, it also seems to be independent of any connectivity setting. o2 will exchange the phone for me but I can't make it crash to prove to them its faulty, if indeed it is.. Have looked on the site but can't find anyone with similar problems or any indication of what it may be.
So I have been on Android 5.1 for sometime now with random Reboots here and there every few days but nothing bad.
Today however my phone literally Reboots every few minutes and I can't figure out why. I didn't install or upload any thing over the past few days so its random this is now happening.
I checked if any erroneous apps where running but nothing of significance that would cause this.
Can I view crash reports to see what the issue is? Do I need a new phone?
I've had the Droid Turbo for a few months now, and the battery life has been great. It was the biggest reason I bought this phone in the first place. Over the past two days, however, the battery life has DRAMATICALLY downgraded. At 11 p.m. last night, I had 58% battery life with no apps running. The phone was in sleep mode. That much battery should have been able to get me through last night and ALL of TODAY. This morning, I check my phone, and I'm at 22% with the phone not in use for 8 hours.
All of the bells and whistles on this device are turned off. I don't have the reach out display thing turned on where it recognizes your movement. The screen is only taking up 30% of the battery draw. I have the bare minimum notifications turned on - the rest are off. My system did NOT update within the last two days. The battery simply seems to be freaking out.
Twice now in the last week I have had the Turbo cut off the phone call and go to the black and white splash screen with the M for Motorola logo and then reboot. It has never rebooted any other time on its own except these two times while on a call.
As an update, I got my phone to quite boot looping by wiping system, cache, and data. I then reinstalled 2.3.6 via computer. This has fixed everything except my wifi. I unistalled logcat and then found highlighted in red that my wifi drivers were not functioning correctly. This does annoy me but I can still use my phone!
Atrix with GB downloaded and installed a few days ago.About 20 minutes ago it started rebooting and gave this kind of message when I try to slide the unlock:Sorry the porocess com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedlyThe process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedlyand there are a couple more of these.
More recently, my droid turbo has been turning rainbow colors instead of black with the time when it's charging. If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!
Since last one month whatsapp has been acting quite weird on my Lumia 950 and my dad's Lumia 550. Both are on Windows Phone .29 build. Original configuration , no insiders preview.Whenever we browse through whatsapp , whatsapp freezes and reboots the phone. We uninstalled whatsapp , reinstalled but that hasnt worked at all.
On my Lumia 950 ive noticed keyboard to stop working inside whatsapp and eventually causing phone to reboot. I am not sure whats causing the issue. Issue is on Wifi as well as cellular data. Its affection both 950 and 550. Today whatsapp update did not fix the issue.
I am on my second T-Mobile Galaxy S6. The first unit had a hardware camera defect as well as this wifi bug. I had them replace it and the new unit's camera is good but it has the same wifi issue. Here's what happens:
When I go to an area with an "open" wifi network, a notification pops up on my screen that says "Click here to connect to null." What's strange is I have almost all wifi features off, particularly "Network notification." It should not tell me when any network is available. I also have "Allow Always Scanning" off as well as Wifi Calling disabled (not that relevant). Anyway, once this happens, I have about 2 seconds to turn off wifi or else the phone will reboot. It's a "soft" restart though, meaning it shows the Samsung and T-Mobile logo then is back on again within 5-10 seconds and fully "booted" within 30 seconds. This will keep happening until I turn off wifi.
It's not just any wifi connection that will cause the issue. I think it has to be an "open" connection that uses a portal for authentication (think universities, hotels, airports, etc). Recently, I clicked on one of the notifications (connect ot null) and saw a Cisco portal. I am not sure if it's isolated to Cisco AP's...
Currently I have G920FXXU2BOFJ Baseband and it constantly crashes, even without doing anything. The crashes/reboots are completely random and very annoying. I have tried to update the firmware to a latest version from France (which had some updates for Android 5.1.1, file name G920FXXU2BOG8_G920FOXA2BOG8_XEF) but the problem persists.
Trying to revert the firmware to the original I made a mess so I'm currently using Smart Switch as I write to recover the phone from the dead. I thought it was a hardware problem, but I can leave the phone in Download Mode for as long as I want without issues (not very useful as a smartphone that way though ) However, even in the Wipe Data/Cache mode it still freezes.
Had a Wildfire for a few days, now, and am getting very frustrated by its slow response and constant freezing. I have loaded a couple of apps from the Android Market (MyPhoneExplorer and SqueezeBox Commander), but, apart from that it is fairly standard. For instance, if the screen has powered off then I press the power button - up pops the display, showing time. Sometimes, if it tap the screen, it says screen is locked and drag down, but, often it doesn't and I have to power off/on again. When it does appear, it is a total lottery whether it will drag down and unlock - occasionally, it drags half way even! It is as if the CPU is going flat out doing something else and can't be bothered to respond to what I am doing.
after doing the system update tonight my droid x won't stop rebooting. i can't even get into the settings long enough to try to do a factory reset or anything. i can unlock the phone and then about 5 seconds later it goes back to the droid message then the red eye then the lock screen... over and over and over. I tried to get in on safe mode- got in and then it did the exact same thing. Has this happened to anyone else and is there any way to fix it. I even tried my friends battery to see if that was the problem- NOT.
I've had my phone since January. Its always super slow and the battery is super bad. Also, at times it just turns off and acts up. But my main concern here the constant sync sign that I get next to the 3G logo. What does it mean and how do I get it out? And... is there a reason why my 3G and antenna bar are colored white at times and blue at other times?
I downloaded Gingerbread this morning and all seem to work well except for a constant sync issue I've been unble to get rid. I shut my phone down for nearly and hour, I've also rebooted it after that, but the sync symbol remains on the task bar.
There is an option in the task manager under its settings to show system apps. When you do it will show that the Android system is running at 25% of the CPU. You can refresh this and it will remain the same.
I'm curious, is that because it is taking a snapshot of what the CPU is doing right at that moment (which would be refreshing the Task Manager list) or is Android really constantly gobbling up 25% of the CPU? Seems high if it's the latter...
my blackberry 8520 has been freezing up on me for the past three weeks and i dont know what to do it usually starts back working but not today i am getting messages and calls and i cant view them do i need to flash my phone or throw it away
When looking at the Task Manager, I notice that there are multiple apps running that I never started. If I kill them or restart my phone, they come back.Amazon KindleBlockbusterGoToMeetingNFL FootballSlackerMaybe a few others.
My Droid X started flickering on the screen after using the camera, does anyone know what that means? Either the menu options blink or the keyboard pops up out of nowhere. I've taken the batt & SD card out to reset, cut it off, waited, cut back on & still blinking at the bottom of the screen.
About a week ago my Droid started blinking on and off randomly and now it will not turn on. When I plug it into the charger I can see light in the charger port. I bought the phone into my local verizon store and they tried a new battery and it still did not work.
After updating my iphone 4s today to the new IOS 5.1.1 software, the phone has started lagging!! and the screen has kept freezing for more than an hour and I couldn't turn the phone off, or access the iphone!! it was in a complete lagging stage!
Having serious issues with my Curve lately. It started freezing occasionally so I would do as the forums said and take out the battery which would solve it for a while. Now, however, even when I do that and turn it back on the phone instantly freezes with messages coming through but the little timer is just constantly turning in the center of the screen.
My upgrade to ICS a couple days ago went fine and I had no problems until last night when I rebooted my phone - just cuz - and then found that the only way BT now plays without stuttering is if I turn off wifi. No problem with 3G/4G, just wifi. I've removed and added both BT devices, rebooted the device again, and it makes no difference. Also stopped Bluetooth Share, cleared data - no change. Using the LG-HBS700 and the Motorola Elite Sliver. I can make a smart action to disable wifi when I turn on BT but that's got obvious drawbacks. I'm contemplating a factory reset but hate to do that if I don't need to.
All of a sudden on Saturday my nokia E5 stopped picking up a signal and started freezing, the text msg sign is also flashing on the screen. I had used the maps app earlier on in the day so don't know if this has anything to do with it. Its not the sim card because I have it working in another phone. I always know the E5 was a phone!
The only issue I have had on my Droid 3, to this point, as been the terrible battery I have experienced, even having bought an extended battery. It's good to hear that there will hopefully be a fix for this soon.
I am wondering if anyone else has been having their Droid 3 reboot randomly for no reason at all? I have never had this issue, but for the last 3 days, it's been happening over and over. It happened 3 times yesterday, 2 the day before, and now the second time today.
I don't know if this was even an issue for anyone since this device has apparently had more issues than most, and I've been spared from the majority of them.
