Motorola Droid Razr :: System Update On Maxx?
Mar 28, 2012I did the system update on my Razr Maxx today & when it restarted, it said that my SIM card was recently removed & that I needed to verify my Motoblur password. Well, I didn't know what that was so my phone was totally locked. I got home & looked it up & it wanted me to put in my Motocast password. I did that & then it told me that it looked like my carrier was Verizon & that it did not support Motoblur. What the heck. So I had to do a full system reset.

Nov 4, 2011Ever since the last system update, the Contact Groups I created have an icon with a padlock next to them and I have no capacity to edit their content.
I can create new Groups (I assume, because there's a button that says I can), but can't change existing ones. I've tried going to the individual contacts to see if the group designation reside there now, etc. I'm wondering if this is tied to Verizon's Backup Assistant, somehow, though my groups don't appear on the web interface for that service at all.

Sep 6, 2011The new Android release has removed the ability in the music player to stop a song, and you can no longer clear out a playlist (I don't mean deleting a playlist, I mean clearing one out, which essentially stopped music from being played). Tech support level 2 told me that this was purposely done by the engineers at Motorola, but I have no idea why, and I can't seem to get in touch with them.

Jul 5, 2012My upgrade to ICS a couple days ago went fine and I had no problems until last night when I rebooted my phone - just cuz - and then found that the only way BT now plays without stuttering is if I turn off wifi. No problem with 3G/4G, just wifi. I've removed and added both BT devices, rebooted the device again, and it makes no difference. Also stopped Bluetooth Share, cleared data - no change. Using the LG-HBS700 and the Motorola Elite Sliver. I can make a smart action to disable wifi when I turn on BT but that's got obvious drawbacks. I'm contemplating a factory reset but hate to do that if I don't need to.

Mar 13, 2015I've had the Droid Turbo for a few months now, and the battery life has been great. It was the biggest reason I bought this phone in the first place. Over the past two days, however, the battery life has DRAMATICALLY downgraded. At 11 p.m. last night, I had 58% battery life with no apps running. The phone was in sleep mode. That much battery should have been able to get me through last night and ALL of TODAY. This morning, I check my phone, and I'm at 22% with the phone not in use for 8 hours.
All of the bells and whistles on this device are turned off. I don't have the reach out display thing turned on where it recognizes your movement. The screen is only taking up 30% of the battery draw. I have the bare minimum notifications turned on - the rest are off. My system did NOT update within the last two days. The battery simply seems to be freaking out.

Mar 28, 2012So I preorder the RAZR and got it a day before the 11-11-11 launch. I had my phone setup and was about to go to bed and my device started a continuous reboot cycle that made the battery go dead by morning. I went to local store and the looked at it and said that they couldn't fix it will just give you a new one.I got a new RAZR and other that battery life issues which I am not happy about I can deal because I can have it charging in my office during the day. Well last night about 7 it started continuous reboot cycle this time I plugged it in and did a reset holding the power and the down volume. It been rebooting since last night I am not in my office with it plugged in.

I can make calls fine, but the only data that transfers to the MB display is the phone numbers, no names or information. I have previously paired a Palm Pre, Droid X, iPhone 3G, HTC Thunderbolt(couldn't stand it, way too many problems/issues) and all of them paired fine and the data transferred showing name, place (work/cell/home) and the phone number in either numerical or alphabetical order.

Aug 16, 2011It's great that Swype was included with the X2 so I didn't have to downlaod it, but the fact that it's a system application means it can't be altered and therefore we're stuck with an outdated version. I can understand that the included version was probably current when the Froyo firmware was written for the phone, but to not update Swype to the current version when you rolled out Gingerbread or remove it so we can update it ourselves doesn't make any sense. If I want to have the current version, which is improved, I have to root my phone to remove Swype so I can put it back on. Any plans to change this so we can actually control what's on our phones and keep the apps up-to-date? BTW, Swype's already got another version on the way. [URL]

As per the original official update schedule of Motorola the update was due for this model(EUROPEAN EDITION) on Q4,2010.But this was not by Motorola.Hence on my enquiry Mark informed me that Motorola has revised the schedule and advised me to look for it.Hence I found out the the revised schedule of Q1,2011 and notice that the update has already started to roll out.But even after the end of one month after Q1,2011 I didn't receive the update.I use to check the update information in the phone everyday.It always says your systemis currently update.Whether Motorola will give me the 2.2 update ever?Will anyone of the Motorola officials or Mark himself will please clear my anxiety and advise me the steps to be taken further to get the update without anymore further delay.Further there is one more thing.Recently whenever I try for system updates in the phone by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates a message appears "The device is unable to connect to server.Try again later.".But whenever I try again and again later the same message appears.Hence what I have to do to get the update if it has been aired?Is there any other way to find the update and download and install in the phone?the phone is connected to 2G and i can browse internet successfully.

Are there any files or something I can flash that will allow me to try and format everything and start over? Sep 21, 20111. I can't do a system update on the phone, I choose it and it says "Checking for available updates. Please wait..." for up to an hour.
2. Often when I try and dial people it doesnt activate a call and will just stay on the same screen. Following this it will either then dial about 10 seconds later after I've given up, or just crash.
3. It now has a tendency of just turning itself off during calls.
4. It often is unresponsive when I reply to texts. I'll use the keypad to text words, and it will be registering the keystrokes as it will be giving me predictive text suggestions, but not actually recording the words.
