Seems that the wifi and cellular networks get crossed or linked together. When one of them loses connection, they both go down and both icons show exclamation marks. Happens randomly. Sometimes when i disable the wifi, my 4g loses connection momentarily.
View 4 RepliesI purchased a new HTC One M9 from Telstra (Australia) in July and ever since I got the phone I have been experiencing an intermittent problem where the GPS and the cell connectivity will both shut down and not connect to the cell towers and GPS location. There is an X above the cell signal and the GPS location indicator flashes and shows no connection. This happens every few days of use and the only way to restore connectivity is to restart the phone.
I have the firmware up-to-date OTA and I have even tried a factory reset.
This problem is not isolated to any one app and has occurred when using Sygic navigation as well as Run.GPS fitness tracker.
I am suspecting this could be a hardware issue! The issue is that it is an intermittent problem and not instantly reproduceable. The problem just happens and without any warning!
My Maxx does not reconnect to 3 or 4G after using WIFI. When I toggle off wifi the 4G bars are white and I get a no connectivity message when trying to get e-mail. Then I restart the phone and all is good.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSeveral times/day now my droid razr HD loses all connectivity. No wifi, no 3g/4g/1x anything. All the indicators are grey and I can't connect to anything. Usually what I have to do is go into airplane mode and then back out and then things are back. I can't say for sure but I thought there was a time or two where I had to do a power cycle to get things back. Not positive about that. I've only had the phone for a few weeks, and I'm pretty sure it's always done this.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been reading articles about the new iphone and the ability to talk and surf at the same time. It seems that the new iPhone 5 will not be able to do this on Verizon and Sprint. This would really effect any one who may use hot spot sharing. Maybe I am just reading into this to much, or is this a possible move to keep iPhone off the VZW and S off there networks because it is a data hog? I just seems like a step back wards. I hope this doesn't move over to the android phones. It sounds like it may just be a limitation of the new iPhone's ability to work on several different networks, but don't you think a new device would have that covered? Just one more reason not to move over to Apple. I will keep my bionic as long as I can, and then purchase another android. After playing with some new phones the other day like the SIII, I think I will still be getting another Motorola when the time comes. The Motorola phone just flows better IMHO. [URL]

Normally that would make sense, but I've been on WiFi the entire time my phone has been off the charger. As the screenshots show, both the WiFi and cell standby are sucking juice at the same time.

My tablet struggles to keep the hard drive spinning over OTG, but my phone powers it just fine. Problem is, the Chromecast needs a WiFi network to connect to, so I turn on the hotspot on the phone. When I do that, I have to disable WiFi on the phone, so it can't see the Chromecast.

Selecting the "Click to connect" would bring up the web page where we log in and I was up and running. Now when I select "Click to connect", I just get a big lock with a cross through it. Selecting "Use network as is" doesn't do anything.

No matter how many times I did a factory reset on the Razr M, every Wi-Fi that I've ever connected to would reamain listed in the "Manage Networks" tab (including the saved passwords). Thought I read somewhere that Google saves all this information under your gmail account.

When the phone doesn't have a good signal or is trying to pick between wifi & cellular, my Turbo lags & temporarily freezes. I just have to wait a good 30 seconds or so for it to free up. I believe I have since narrowed it down to occur only when I am at my office and connected to the office Apple airport WiFi.
I am on my second device and don't think returning will be useful as it must be software.
Since I installed the 5.1 update, I've noticed in the stock battery stats that wifi displays as always on, with a solid green line across the screen, even when wifi is off AND disconnected from any wifi signal. I don't seem to have a drain on the battery as a result, but I don't have a clue why it would show up like this.

If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. Sometimes my 4g works flawlessly then the very next day I can have 4g bars but my connection will be really crappy. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these spotty 4g problems.. I also have times were I have all my bars and the 4g is blue but I cant connect at all until I reset the device.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI believe that there is a problem with the Atrix network stack. When operating at home (Lapdock or HD dock or stand-alone) I prefer to use the local WiFi connection (because the cellular signal is useless for data here on the _9th_floor_ (thanks T-Mobile UK).
However:
1/ On its own the Atrix does not properly switch to _use_ WiFi- it tries to use either WiFi or GPRS/3G/HSPA from time to time. This does not work well (read the reviews that say that the Lapdock is slow and I think that this is the problem being reported);
2/ I installed Juicedefender which is free and which switches OFF the GPRS/3G/HSPA radio when WiFi is being used:
BUT - then I notice that the WiFi data stream stops after about 90s and only re-starts after either several minutes have elapsed _or_ I switch off and on again the WiFi radio. VERY POOR. Worse, on checking with my router, the ATRIX remains _connected_ to the WiFi network at all times - so this is the internal software losing contact with the active network interface.
I recently replaced my early WRT300n draft n band router for a Netgear WNDR 4500 dual band router. My Bionic connects well on the 2.4 GHz band but does not appear to be able to connect on the 5GHz band. Is the Bionic capable of dual band connectivity? My Xoom 4G tablet connects well at 5GHz and shows the 2.4 GHz band as also available. Specs show the Bionic capable of b/g/n connectivity but does not specify bands.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having lots of problems in getting my Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop to connect to my Motorola Verizon Droid Razr using Verizon's Hot Spot.It appears to see the Verizon Hot Spot and statse connected but says limited connectivity and keeps disconnecting and refreshing and reconnecting stateing either " Limited Connectivity or No Internet" Also when it did the one time make a connection it would not go to any web pages even tho it stated connected with internet connectivity.

It appears that I can connect correctly to the Bluetooth Audio Services, but as I cannot get any music onto my phone I am having a hard time testing it.On Bluetooth installation I had two devices that were not installed correctly. Through trial and error I discovered that these two devices are related to the Generic Access Service and the Generic Attributes Service, both of which I have disabled on my Win7 Bluetooth phone properties.
I HAVE installed Motorola Device Manager with no success resolving. In fact, I cannot see where MDM is even accessible on my system: no system tray icon, no start menu link, etc.I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure if my image upload will work correctly, but in essence the phone Operation Panel in Win7 shows the FTP Service as active but clicking the Browse button does nothing. I do get a prompt on my phone initially asking for permision for my computer to access the phone, but then nothing.
