Sometimes after playing a game or uisng ana application my mototrola defy+ hangs and restarts nad it keeps on retarting for sometime on its own. M quite fed up with dis issue.
View 1 Repliesi recently got my phone updated to 2.2.2. and m gettin real bad lags. i even got an app called memory booster and it says in every 10-15min my ram usage become close to 80%. insipte of closing the apps they seem to keep running. any way i can reduce or even stop these lags?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy brand new defy plus restarts every 5-10 mins whenever i m using an activated sim card. However, i have a deactivated sim which catches no signal. When i use this deactivated sim, it works absolutely fine without any restart issues.

Let me explain what i already tryed.i am a T-Mobile Germany user and have a data plan called Web`n`walk flat wich only allows for webtraffic eg ports 80/443 basically.- I got the Handset replaced 2 times, however the handsets i got where not new they where "repaired" whatever that means. So i did not send mine and had to wait, actualy they replaced it at my door. So 3 different handset where the last one is the worst one. Anyway -> no difference.
- Under my contract i do have 2 SIM cards and i ask them to replace the older one with a new one so i tested 3 different SIM cards where the last once where n3 and n4 -> no difference
- delivered 2gb SD card, Samsung class2 8Gb, new Samsung 16 Gb class10, formated the 16Gb in the handset -> no difference
- 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 which i got some time at the second handset as OTA Update -> no difference
- 2 different MOTOBlur accounts -> no difference
- factory reset/cache wipe -> no difference Even i experience the reboots strait after the factory reset within the start wizzard eg on the Screen where you turn on Data Usage.
- turn data connection to 2G only -> no difference
But now:
- if i turn off DataUsage keep the phone connection active and just stay on WiFi -> no reloads for hours/days?
As the last handset keeped restarting at my house as well i connected it to the adb and capture some kernel logs.... the system dies with Kernel Panic and restarts.Here we go with an example. It is just the panic lines and a bit above. I dont understand that mutch of linux kernel debugging however. I required i could do more logs. (only without root as the phone is on the 2.3.6 kernel ROM)

Initially the phone used to abruptly hang and would require the battery to be taken out & reinserted to start the phone. After the Firmware update the problem got reduced but now the phone hangs and automatically restarts. This is quite frequent & very irritating. I have tried the hard & soft reset but the problem still remains the same. The firmware that i am using is 054.005 / make - Malaysia.

The phones hang up and restarts when I make a call or when I want to answer.
My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement.Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon.It is still under warranty, 11 months old.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

If I shut it down again quickly it stays off the second time. I know not a Xoom but both Motorola Android ... makes me wonder. Seemed to start after leaked GB upgrade. Stock GB now and still does auto-restarts
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Atrix for about 4 months now, dealing with freezed and random shut-offs. Today, though, my phone has been continuously restarting all day. I just picked my phone up, tried to unlock it, and it immediately popped up with google framework errors, bluetooth errors, and others that go away too fast for me to even see them. After a while, my phone will automatically restart itself, and continues having the same errors.

It doesn't seem to be triggered by anything specific I do with the phone. I'll just look over at my phone because it lights up and sure enough, it's restarting. It does it when I'm using it and when I'm not.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to see if anyone else is having this issue. My Wifi Xoom will not stay powered off. I tell Android to shut down and it does, but then immediately powers back on. Has anyone seen this before? I have sent the device back to repair 2 times now and I get it back and it is fixed for a day or two and then starts rebooting itself again! (Note: I'm not talking about random reboots, just when I try to turn it off. I need to turn it all the way off so I can save battery, can't charge every day).

It seems to hapen if Im texting and an email comes in but not totally certain. Is this something I'm just going to have to deal with until 4. comes out and hope JB doesnt hav the same issue? View 11 Replies View RelatedJust installed overdrive media connector to 3.2, hadn't tried it in 3.1. The sample audio welcome file downloads and plays as expected, and program navigation is as expected.
Downloaded a few ebooks from our regional library, but the reader hangs when loading them after download. Uninstall/reinstall gives the same problem.
No online tech support from overdrive, no results when searched for similar problems. My phone is an evo 4g with 2.3, will try it when I have a chance.
I am hanging on the phone waiting for a Moto Level 2, but in the mean time, am going to bang out this post about how awful my first day with ICS has been.I mentioned in a previous post that the install got hung at "starting applications" and Veriizon tech suppor thad me pull the SD and SIM card. I have not been able to find a pattern, in the beginning I thought that it was connected to the browser, so I installed firefox, but the problem persists.
I have seen the problem on different networks.
Yesterday I was listening to music on my Photon using the Google Play Music app and my phone rebooted twice (only while using this app). I am not sure if it is an issue with Google Play Music app or what. I will post this message with Google and see if they can pinpoint the issue as well. But I wanted to know if any other Photon users were experiencing this as well?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince the update to ICS I've noticed when I stream audio via Bluetooth from my Bionic that the phone randomly will restart. I have tried three different bluetooth devices (S9-HD, S10-HD, and a bluetooth speaker) and multiple audio apps including but not limited to AmazonMP3, Google Music, and a voice recorder app I use.
It does this spuratily. I can listen for days to something and then it does it and sometimes it even does it over and over again. As an example a few hours ago it did it and then when I resumed listening it did less than 5 mins later. So far it hasn't done it a third time.
I didn't have this issue under Gingerbread.
What I've done:
- Cleared Cache in all audio apps and system recovery
- Tried different versions of music apps
- Factory Reset
- Repaired BT devices
- Formatted both internal and external memory
Is this an ICS bug or did something freaky happen to my Bionic during the update from 2.3 to 4.0?
I purchased the Motorola Full Size Wireless Keyboard (model:89451N) to use with my Droid Razr Maxx Hd to make texting and sending emails easier. The problem is that when conneting keyboard to phone the phone will restart 4 out of 5 times. Once the phone has rebooted it is connected but this is becoming very frustrating. This is the only wireless keyboard that I've tried but I hoped to have little compatability issues being that both handset and keyboard are made by Motorola.
