Partially off topic but my DroidX is similar. Most of the time when I shut it down it looks like it shuts off for a few minutes then restarts on its own. If I shut it down again quickly it stays off the second time. I know not a Xoom but both Motorola Android ... makes me wonder. Seemed to start after leaked GB upgrade. Stock GB now and still does auto-restarts
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to see if anyone else is having this issue. My Wifi Xoom will not stay powered off. I tell Android to shut down and it does, but then immediately powers back on. Has anyone seen this before? I have sent the device back to repair 2 times now and I get it back and it is fixed for a day or two and then starts rebooting itself again! (Note: I'm not talking about random reboots, just when I try to turn it off. I need to turn it all the way off so I can save battery, can't charge every day).

I turn my phone off at night, watch it go through its shut down procedure and in the morning it is back on again. My wife's also does not stay off. Can't say if it is everytime or just some. I know many of you do not turn your phones off but if you could check this it would be great.

Since last Friday (April 22), when I open my email screen, it only stays active for a 2-3 seconds, and then it goes back to my home screen. I've tried shutdown, removing the battery, checked my Outlook sync settings, nothing is working.

The same google calendar issue exists on both phones.1) I like to see my calendar on Agenda view, but when I close the calendar app and then open it up again later, it is shown in month view. Why can't it stay in Agenda view? Is there something I can do so that it stays in whatever view I viewed last?2) If I click on "show today", sometimes it shows today's date in Agenda view, but then it may jump to an earlier date.If I again click "show today", then it jumps to an even earlier date. After about 5-6 tries, it usually goes back to today's date.

When charging, it will not stay off. Tried shutting it down with the pop-up menu and by holding the power button for 30 seconds. Shuts down and boots right back up. If the phone is off and then I plug it in, it starts up. This happens when plugged in to a computer, a 3rd party charger, or battery pack, but not when plugged in to the turbo charger that came with it. When plugged in to the charger that came with it it will go to the charging screen. All of this is with the same cable. So the cable type isn't the issue. Well, could be. The cable is a data cable and I don't have a power only to test with.
Just had something start happening, and I have 2 new accessories I have been using, and I have not had a chance to properly debug the issue. I have had the setting to keep screen on when charging set since it was "discovered". This morning I noticed my screen was shutting off when playing pandora and while charging, and that the setting had gotten turned off. My 2 new accessories are a Motorola SD10 bluetooth headphones (I really like these), and a navigation dock. I am thinking the navigation dock is the most likely culprit.

It seems to hapen if Im texting and an email comes in but not totally certain. Is this something I'm just going to have to deal with until 4. comes out and hope JB doesnt hav the same issue? Verizon will replace it but with a refurb...Lets see..I bought it btand new 17 days ago, and they want to replace it with a refurbished phone

I have tried using Smart Actions but the only options seem to be changing the screen timeout option to a maximum of staying on for 10 minutes. View 5 Replies View Relatedever since the 2.3.4. update i found my button hard buttons stay lit when watching videos. they used to time out after a min or two but now never time out. is this normal now and is there a way to shut them off when watching videos at night. it is annoying that they stay lit especially at night. i do not have the dx2 in a doc when watching the videos. just have it on wifi and watching cnet tv and Internet stuff.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the update to ICS I've noticed when I stream audio via Bluetooth from my Bionic that the phone randomly will restart. I have tried three different bluetooth devices (S9-HD, S10-HD, and a bluetooth speaker) and multiple audio apps including but not limited to AmazonMP3, Google Music, and a voice recorder app I use.
It does this spuratily. I can listen for days to something and then it does it and sometimes it even does it over and over again. As an example a few hours ago it did it and then when I resumed listening it did less than 5 mins later. So far it hasn't done it a third time.
I didn't have this issue under Gingerbread.
What I've done:
- Cleared Cache in all audio apps and system recovery
- Tried different versions of music apps
- Factory Reset
- Repaired BT devices
- Formatted both internal and external memory
Is this an ICS bug or did something freaky happen to my Bionic during the update from 2.3 to 4.0?
I purchased the Motorola Full Size Wireless Keyboard (model:89451N) to use with my Droid Razr Maxx Hd to make texting and sending emails easier. The problem is that when conneting keyboard to phone the phone will restart 4 out of 5 times. Once the phone has rebooted it is connected but this is becoming very frustrating. This is the only wireless keyboard that I've tried but I hoped to have little compatability issues being that both handset and keyboard are made by Motorola.

But soon after that it restarted by itself and started back up in normal mode. I tried that 3 time and the same thing happened.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 5.5.893 when I put my Droid into the desk top charger the screen will not stay illuminated. It times out just as if I were holding it in my hand. I like to be able to glance up from my work wnd see whether I have email waiting. Now I have to "wake the phone up" to check it. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere but this was never an issue prior to the software update.

As I go to the keyboard setting and set this custom keyboard as the default one, the phone has been working perfectly poping up whatever custom keyboard I defaulted for couple weeks until yesterday... the phone keep going back to the default Multi touch keyboard and won't remember the selected default keyboard for some reason..
I have a Droid 4 for my phone, my computer is a desktop running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate. I've tried to connect to MotoCast both wirelessly and with the USB cable. I Uninstalled it and redownloaded it. The part on my computer refuses to stay online, even when I am in MyMotoCast browsing through the files! I have all the settings allowed, it's on a clear port.I gave up and removed my SD card and manually loaded movies and music onto the card, and popped it back into the phone, it was much quicker than waiting on MotoCast's 10 seconds of connect time every time I reset it.
I also find that trying to rearrange a playlist gets buggy after a couple songs. Why is it designed to rewrite the whole 5(ish)kb that is the song to a new location rather than just relink to it? For every OTHER application, a playlist is a series of links that point to your songs. What it is NOT is a physical arrangement of those songs. Why is my phone's playlist a physical arrangement of those songs?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used app groups heavily on my Photon. They always worked great. This weekend I decided to do a factory reset. (My boot time was really really slow). After the FR I tried to set everything up just as it was before. But now I add apps to the app groups and after a little while, most of them disappear from the app group. The apps are all still there and visible in the All Apps view. But I put six app in an app group and a little while later there are only 2 or maybe 3 or none. I tried rebooting and that didn't work. I decided that something might have gone awry with the FR so I did another, but the problem remains.
Everything else with the FR went fine except one thing. The ROM has an older Google+ app with the older icon. I updated it, but the icon didn't change. I ran it and it is indeed the new app. But the old Icon remained. I went into Play Store and uninstalled the update and re-installed it. And when I try to open the app from the Play Store, it says the app can't be found. It works fine from the launcher (stock launcher) but not from the Play store. Then a few hours later, the icon changed to the new icon. This happened with both Factory Resets. It didn't happen to any other app. Everything else is fine... And my boot times are now much shorter.
My wife and I have identical ATRIX 2 phones just over a year old. Always has been some strange things happening staying connected to wifi network but that finally corrected itself on both phones
After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I went to a AT&T hotspot and downloaded the latest ICS update.on her phone No matter what I do it will connect to our network wifi and bring in mail etc for about ten seconds then the singal bars change from white to blue, The settings menue shows wifi still on blue connected but the signal bars shows blue. Her data use would indicate it is indee using cingular data.
I just updated via bravo . once it reset and installed update. it reloads and wifi is off. I re connect to prior connection and it scans then disconnects. I need the wifi because ATT will charge you your first born for data usage. MOTO current Android version says 2.2.1. I dont want to be violated.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Atrix for about 4 months now, dealing with freezed and random shut-offs. Today, though, my phone has been continuously restarting all day. I just picked my phone up, tried to unlock it, and it immediately popped up with google framework errors, bluetooth errors, and others that go away too fast for me to even see them. After a while, my phone will automatically restart itself, and continues having the same errors.
