Since last Friday (April 22), when I open my email screen, it only stays active for a 2-3 seconds, and then it goes back to my home screen. I've tried shutdown, removing the battery, checked my Outlook sync settings, nothing is working.

I have tried using Smart Actions but the only options seem to be changing the screen timeout option to a maximum of staying on for 10 minutes. I've tired many variations using Tasker and still no joy.

I'd like to be able to see temperature (and today's weather upon click) and battery life. I could see these without 'logging in' to the phone. The screen that I'm thinking about is the one that shows the time and notification of unread messages.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 5.5.893 when I put my Droid into the desk top charger the screen will not stay illuminated. It times out just as if I were holding it in my hand. I like to be able to glance up from my work wnd see whether I have email waiting. Now I have to "wake the phone up" to check it. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere but this was never an issue prior to the software update.
View 12 Replies View RelatedPartially off topic but my DroidX is similar. Most of the time when I shut it down it looks like it shuts off for a few minutes then restarts on its own. If I shut it down again quickly it stays off the second time. I know not a Xoom but both Motorola Android ... makes me wonder. Seemed to start after leaked GB upgrade. Stock GB now and still does auto-restarts

Can't say if it is everytime or just some. I know many of you do not turn your phones off but if you could check this it would be great.

Despite checking off this choice the screen shuts off after 10 minutes of inactivity while charging. How can I keep the screen on? I don't want it to sleep until/unless I do it manually.

The same google calendar issue exists on both phones.1) I like to see my calendar on Agenda view, but when I close the calendar app and then open it up again later, it is shown in month view. Why can't it stay in Agenda view? Is there something I can do so that it stays in whatever view I viewed last?2) If I click on "show today", sometimes it shows today's date in Agenda view, but then it may jump to an earlier date.If I again click "show today", then it jumps to an even earlier date. After about 5-6 tries, it usually goes back to today's date.

When charging, it will not stay off. Tried shutting it down with the pop-up menu and by holding the power button for 30 seconds. Shuts down and boots right back up. If the phone is off and then I plug it in, it starts up. This happens when plugged in to a computer, a 3rd party charger, or battery pack, but not when plugged in to the turbo charger that came with it. When plugged in to the charger that came with it it will go to the charging screen. All of this is with the same cable. So the cable type isn't the issue. Well, could be. The cable is a data cable and I don't have a power only to test with.
Just had something start happening, and I have 2 new accessories I have been using, and I have not had a chance to properly debug the issue. I have had the setting to keep screen on when charging set since it was "discovered". This morning I noticed my screen was shutting off when playing pandora and while charging, and that the setting had gotten turned off. My 2 new accessories are a Motorola SD10 bluetooth headphones (I really like these), and a navigation dock. I am thinking the navigation dock is the most likely culprit.
View 3 Replies View Relatedever since the 2.3.4. update i found my button hard buttons stay lit when watching videos. they used to time out after a min or two but now never time out. is this normal now and is there a way to shut them off when watching videos at night. it is annoying that they stay lit especially at night. i do not have the dx2 in a doc when watching the videos. just have it on wifi and watching cnet tv and Internet stuff.

My E63 crashed after a software update last night. I seem to have recovered most stuff, but now can't access my emails from the Active Home Screen. It shows that new emails have arrived, but when I click on the icon - nothing happens. Just stays on the home screen. I can access emails by going Menu-Installations-email, but this is a bit of a faff!
Any ideas? I'm using the Nokia Messaging email for my Hotmail account. It all went smoothly for the last year....
I currently have a Droid Pro, wanted to set up Hotmail as IMAP or Active Sync. Currently have it set up as POP3, but wanted the full capabilities from the phone. (Yes, I know, the simple answer is to switch to gmail, but I have had this hotmail account for many years). I have tried the steps listed here: [URL]
Added a Corporate Sync account. Entered these parameters:
Email Address: <my email>
Password: <my password>
Domain: Blank
Username: <my email>
Server: m.hotmail.com
Use secure connection: Checked
When I enter these details, it adds the account to the phone. However, when I go into that account, after a few minutes I get an error: "Unable to connect to Hotmail1." The strange thing is, I am able to see my subfolder set up after it timed out while trying to connect. How to get Hotmail working on a Droid Pro...other than POP3?

Tried rebooting phone and deleting and adding back account. In the settings did the verify account and it says sucessful. Works for email if I use the "Email Accounts" option and not "Corporate Sync" option but I need my contacts and calander also to work.

I initially had to hard reset my X2 because the data encryption feature caused some unwanted effects, i.e. the data encryption feature did not work properly. Since that hard reset, I left the default keyboard input method as multi-touch. Just today I thought I woud like to try Swype. However once I bring up the keyboard input options and select the radio button by Swype, it stays greyed out. Are there some possibly 'lock out' options I might have selected that doesn't allow me to select Swype? I know Swype works because I had it before the hard reset.

On the old Droid, it turned OFF the scroll lock when pattern lock was activated. How can I disable the scroll lock while pattern lock is activated? It's rather annoying having two lock screens...
View 4 Replies View RelatedPicking it up this morning I tried entering my security PIN only to find the numbers weren't registering. The problem? My finger holding the device - while not touching the screen area - was too close and was activating multitouch. Moving my finger out of the way solved the problem though my grip slips away and the device starts to fall out of my hands.
I can't be the only one that finds this tablet hard to hold. And the best part is, there's an easy remedy to the situation: give us the option to change the active screen area (e.g. shrink it by a certain number of pixels in order to give us more room to hold it). Even without changing anything else in Honeycomb this is still doable, yet I fear it will never become a reality.
Am I the only one who wants to see them let us shrink the touchable area of the screen so we can hold it better?
On my Droid Razr Maxx using Corporate Sync with the built-in email client attached to an Exchange 2010 server, when i receive an email that is digitally signed (but not encrypted) any and all attachments do not come with the email. (no paperclip symbol). I receive all other attachments fine when the email is not digitally signed.Using Verizon Wireless as carrier.if the signed email was sent to my Gmail account all attachments appear as normal.

My Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).
Everytime i have my torch outside of the holster the screen will never turn off, even if i press the lock button, the screen will go off and then back on in less than a second. this is becoming quite annoying and is draining my battery
