When I set up my DroidX, I set up my e-mail account using my Verizon.net email account. I would like to remove this account, but can't find how to do this under the e-mail app settings, nor does the Verizon account show up under Accounts
View 2 RepliesThe changes made to the email account mechanism is causing me grief. Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the functionality to assign each email account their own notification ringtone? I use this as a tool to know when an email is from my personal account or from my work account. Now I have to pick the phone every time to find out which it was. That was dumb of Motorola. It need to be returned to it's previous level of functionality. I speaking of the corporate email accounts specifically.

I tried to add it and after I enter the email and password I'm get a login failed notice. I've tried it a bunch of times and I cant get it to add.

My email is set up correctly. The message will sit in the outbox until I remove the battery and reinstall. Once this is done it sends without issue. Running 4.5.605.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell the last week or so I have noticed that my email account is not syncing with my Razr Maxx HD - It is an outlook account - it also does the same thing with my Yahoo account as well I tried looking in settings for sync frequency but there is not option to set - I know on previouse phones there has been option for it but not this one.. Other than deleting the account and re-doing it or restoring the phone, because those two dont work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am adding Email definitions for my Gmail accounts (in addition to the Google account definition for Contacts, etc.) because I want them to appear in the Messaging -> Universal Inbox. (I'm not fond of the Gmail app.)
Similarly, I am adding definitions for my Hotmail accounts because I read somewhere that Moto/Verizon will set them up as IMAP which I cannot achieve through a client like K9, else I would probably just be using it for my Universal Inbox.
Via My Accounts -> Add account -> Email Accounts... If I set up a Gmail or Hotmail account by selecting Other and then automatically or manually configuring, then mail is retrieved. However, if I select the appropriate icon for Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail, the only Email which ever appears in the 'Inbox' is from donotreply@vzw.net regarding the success of the operation - this message is not even sent into my actual Gmail/Hotmail Inbox as verified online.. NONE of the other messages from my Inbox ever appear.
So, why do I care how the account is set up? Mostly because the only easy way to distinguish between the message source in the Universal Inbox is the little icon designating the type of Email account. If they are all set up as Other, they all end up with the same icon.
This functionality worked just fine on my Droid 2. So, is it now broken on the Droid 4?
(As an aside, the Hotmail account is set up automatically as POP3. Was I misinformed that Motorola had a license to set up as IMAP through some licensing agreement with Microsoft?)
I have three email accounts; gmail, earthlink, and microsoft outlook (work email). Phone has icon for gmail and a "generic" email icon. Can I add a third so that I can simply touch the icon on the home screen to access the emails separately?

What a stress.....I don't have any problem with gmail. Its just other email (msn. corporate email) that I have in addition to gmail... what it does exactly is,
1. I click 'messaging' from home screen.
2. it opens with white background not showing any icon for msn or corp-email.
3. as soon as it covers white background it just comes back to home screen.
same in 'my account' icon...
I have my email set to push/fetch every 15 minutes and it does nothing. I have to remember to refresh my email to get new mail. I tried changing the schedule to every 30 minutes, but it still doesn't work.

Finally, it appears on Contacts-->Select Contact List. This gmail account was once on my Torch as an Internet Mail Account, but I deleted the account (from gmail and from the Torch). It no longer exists as far as Google is concerned. It never was and never should never have been an Enterprise Account, and I don't know how it became one. How can I completely wipe this gmail account from my Torch?

I have 2 email accounts that I use 2 different icons to access. in Gmail app, i can have both email addresses appear, I added 2nd email address, but don't like the way it works, and want to go back to how I had it before, but I am unable to delete the 2nd email address within Gmail. They say from Gmail, go into Settings, Accounts and Import, Check mail from other accounts, and delete the one I want to remove. I don't have the Accounts and import option. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently synchronised my old Blackberry curve with my new Blackberry torch and unfortunately an old defunct email account has been transferred across - there was no way of removing this prior to the transfer.I have created a new email account and receive emails to this address, however, when I try to send an email, I have the option of chosing which account I use to send this from. I can cope with this, but what I cannot do is forward a received email onto someone else as my phone just appears to automatically select the old email address as the default one and I no longer have this email account. I cannot remove this from my phone as when I have tried to "delete an email address" the old address is not shown anywhere no matter where I have looked.

I deleted my login and password for my email account on my phone; I deleted the CIMIME from the Service Book and deleted something called BIS 5 from somewhere. I'm still getting emails on my phone. Now I find a new "Outlook" account in my iPhone email. I need to remove that Outlook (a new Microsoft email program?) and start over. I set it up again in the Email Setup section, but its not working. I removed what I did and the gmail icon is still there, but doesn't work. Can anyone help? My IT dept rep is an absolute ***** and has done nothing to help me with this problem besides telling me "well, I guess you just can't use Gmail on this phone", which is absurd since I could use it on the old one, so I know BB supports it.

I took the phone into a phone shop and they cleared the phone again but I am still receiving his emails. When you go to email setup the only address/account showing is my email, so I can't just disassociate the phone from his account that way.

On my Droid Razr Maxx using Corporate Sync with the built-in email client attached to an Exchange 2010 server, when i receive an email that is digitally signed (but not encrypted) any and all attachments do not come with the email. (no paperclip symbol). I receive all other attachments fine when the email is not digitally signed.Using Verizon Wireless as carrier.if the signed email was sent to my Gmail account all attachments appear as normal.
