know if i can remove an email account without resetting the phone ? I accidently got my gmail account wrong when i registered for the samsung hub, now in my samsung account the email is wrong i tried to remove it but it says i have to reset my phone wich will lose everything i have took days to install

I have 2 email accounts that I use 2 different icons to access. in Gmail app, i can have both email addresses appear, I added 2nd email address, but don't like the way it works, and want to go back to how I had it before, but I am unable to delete the 2nd email address within Gmail. They say from Gmail, go into Settings, Accounts and Import, Check mail from other accounts, and delete the one I want to remove. I don't have the Accounts and import option. I have gone into my Email through settings and removed the 2nd email all together, but it still appears in my Gmail app..how do I get rid of it from Gmail? I want to have to apps, 1 for Gmail and another for 2nd email address.

Now that I got my scanner fixed I want to use it again but it needs the backup password which I don't have. I tried scanning my finger and it didn't work. It will not let me scan again and is asking for the backup password for it to be able to open. I am not locked out of my phone rather I just need the backup password to change some settings. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the backup password without resetting my phone and keep in mind I am not locked out and still have full access just not the backup password? I have tried android device manager also the samsung one and cannot seem to find it. I do not want to reset my phone and am rooted.

I entered in error a letter in my email address for my Samsung account, now all it does is ask me to sync, which I don't. I have tried the above, but cannot find 'delete Samsung account' anywhere.

Finally, it appears on Contacts-->Select Contact List. This gmail account was once on my Torch as an Internet Mail Account, but I deleted the account (from gmail and from the Torch). It no longer exists as far as Google is concerned. It never was and never should never have been an Enterprise Account, and I don't know how it became one. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently synchronised my old Blackberry curve with my new Blackberry torch and unfortunately an old defunct email account has been transferred across - there was no way of removing this prior to the transfer.I have created a new email account and receive emails to this address, however, when I try to send an email, I have the option of chosing which account I use to send this from. I can cope with this, but what I cannot do is forward a received email onto someone else as my phone just appears to automatically select the old email address as the default one and I no longer have this email account. I cannot remove this from my phone as when I have tried to "delete an email address" the old address is not shown anywhere no matter where I have looked.

I set it up again in the Email Setup section, but its not working. I removed what I did and the gmail icon is still there, but doesn't work. Can anyone help? My IT dept rep is an absolute ***** and has done nothing to help me with this problem besides telling me "well, I guess you just can't use Gmail on this phone", which is absurd since I could use it on the old one, so I know BB supports it.

I took the phone into a phone shop and they cleared the phone again but I am still receiving his emails. When you go to email setup the only address/account showing is my email, so I can't just disassociate the phone from his account that way.

Who thought it would be a good idea to remove the functionality to assign each email account their own notification ringtone? I use this as a tool to know when an email is from my personal account or from my work account. Now I have to pick the phone every time to find out which it was. That was dumb of Motorola. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. When the GPS is on, and the blue arrow is pointing where I am, above the arrow is my gmail icon inside a blue square. Is there any way to remove this?!? It's a massive square on the phone that really doesn't need to be there. I know who I am! And the blue arrow is enough.
