Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia E72 Hangs And Automatically Restarts After FW Update
Oct 16, 2011I have been a Nokia E72 user since jan 11 and have been facing some problems with the phone. Initially the phone used to abruptly hang and would require the battery to be taken out & reinserted to start the phone. After the Firmware update the problem got reduced but now the phone hangs and automatically restarts. This is quite frequent & very irritating. I have tried the hard & soft reset but the problem still remains the same. The firmware that i am using is 054.005 / make - Malaysia.

May 21, 2011I just bought this e7 phone last month and its been nothing but trouble... It hangs and i have to long press the powe button to shut it down and restarts and then when it comes on.it hangs within the next 30 seconds and this process continues into a routine... I tried softformatting it and it doesnt hang anymore but a new problem is generated... It pratically keeps screaming system error...i can't do much with the phone. I dont know which condition is better anymore,the phone's previous state or its new state...

Nov 11, 2010I have bought a new E63 recently. The issue is my E63 restarts automatically while using it for surfing the internet on the PC or using nokia's Internet radio. I have activated the GPRS service from IDEA and i am using it on the mobile phone as well as on the PC. But my mobile phone restarts after 5-10 minutes while using the internet connected through the mobile phone on PC. I am facing this problem all the times whether i connect through the data cable or through the bluetooth. My friend is also facing the same problem as he is also having the same Handset. i have also visited to Nokia service center ..They formated two times...and whether i use memory card or not...the problem still persist.....The phone gives me very high downloading speed 20kBs to 30 kBS .....but restarts after 5-10 mins. ...i think internal modem overheats....or some bug in firm ware...( i have latest updated firmware (500.21.009. 02-06-2010 RM-437 )

Feb 13, 2012I got E5.00 with 081.004 and c00.01 software. Recently purchased. Few weeks back I have noticed some thing strange. While on the call, the recipients, signals was low and it its loss the connectivity, my phone gets stuck for 2,3 min with disconnect icon. When the icon is gone, I'm not able to make any call till I reset the unit. Also when I select the phone in to offline mode. The phone restart automatically. I did hard reset and .Etc. Still the problem there.

Jan 5, 2012I've had my Nokia E5-00 since 11/25 and it's been giving me hell this past week. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I tried changing the lock code so I could lock my phone, and right as I entered the default 12345 and then it asked me for a new code, I put in the new code and it restarted. I figured it was just the phone updating itself. Then, the phone began restarting randomly, and sometimes it restarts multiple times before it stays put for an hour or two... Only to start the process all over again.When it restarts, the Nokia logo doesn't have the holding-hands thing. The screen turns white, sometimes the Nokia in blue letters appears, but never the hand-holding.I know some people have had this problem with the E5-00 and I'm wondering what I can do. I tried updating the software - twice - and no dice.

Jul 9, 2010Since updating to 410.21.010, my E71 occasionally shows a "Insert SIM card" message.This is rather odd, as it's not feasible to do so (the battery blocks the slot), and the SIM hasn't had any trouble before. Worse still, when this occurs the phone becomes entirely useless - not only can I not access running apps (and the model doesn't require a SIM for that), I can't even turn it off!Upon removal of the battery to forcibly restart the phone, it starts just fine, SIM and all - so the card isn't poorly seated or anything like that.

May 25, 2011My Nokia E7-00 hangs every time I try to open Application Manager to uninstall applications - it says "scanning memory" and hangs there. Only way to come out of it is to hard reboot the phone. I tried reinstalling the device software from PC Ovi Suite and even though the reinstall completed successfully, it still hangs just the same as before. As a result, I am unable to uninstall ANY applications?

Often when dialing a number (or just entering the digit) that starts with a "1", the phone will freeze, sometimes only recoverable by removing the battery. If you start with any other digit, there is no issue at all.

Even if I close it through the task manager, the camera will be unusable upon restarting the app and the lens cover stays open until I reboot and successfully snap a picture afterwards.
I've already encountered it three times this week -_- I'm running PfD on latest OS, firmware version, and Lumia Camera app btw.
