How do I set a photo as the wallpaper without it being spread across all five screens and massive? If i set a photo of a person it is huge and disfigured almost.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just bought my RAZR and I'm struggling to set the wallpaper I want. To start with, I'm a bit disappointed that I can't have a separate lock-screen wallpaper, but that's not the end of the world.
On previous Android devices I've always been able to choose a picture then when setting it as a wallpaper, there has always been the option to crop it to the size / area you want. I can't work out how to do this, is it possible?
The built-in picture viewer doesn't seem to allow any rotation / zooming and then saving either. The pre-loaded "My Gallery" app doesn't find all the pictures on my device either. Again, on previous devices all images from all storage areas have automatically appeared in the gallery.
I also can't find the directory where the wallpapers are stored
This is something really basic I need to be able to do for newspaper work, tweeting a spot news photo. Twitter does not appear as an option for sharing a photo from Gallery or Camera, even though I have used the Twitter app to tweet without a photo. Can't figure out how to attach photo in Twitter either - paper clip symbol only gives option to insert Location or Webpage. Other people at my newspaper can tweet a photo really easy from HTC Inspire and iphone. On the Inspire they can tweet a photo they've already taken, or in the Twitter app, click on a camera icon, take a photo, add text and send the tweet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change which photo is displayed for certain contacts. Right now it automatically puts facebook photos, I'm trying to change it to a different picture. I go into the contact, click edit, tell it to use an existing photo, I crop the photo how I want it, click save, it shows the new photo in the edit screen, I click save again and it defaults back to the facebook photo.

Coming from a Samsung s5 I'm used to being able from the photo gallery to crop and draw on photos. Now with the standard photos app I don't see these functions. Am I missing something, or do I now need another app? Recommendations?

However, my phone won't let me set my photos as wallpaper unless I severely crop them. I want to use a whole picture as my wallpaper, not just a small portion of it. Can anyone tell me how to set my whole photo as the wallpaper, please? I don't understand how my phone won't let me set a picture that I took with my phone's camera as its wallpaper without cropping it. It is the same with pictures I downloaded. I'm only able to use full pictures if they were already installed in the phone when I bought it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
I bought the motoActv golf version about a week ago. Worked fine the first day, but the second day I turned it on and had no color in the background. It was in black and white. I can see things somewhat ok, but its frustrating when it has no color. Somedays I turn it on and its fine. Monday I used it on my bike and was great. Yesterday and Wednesday it had no color to it. I played around with it last night and it somehow had color, turned it on this morning and there is no color. Brightness is all the way up and it is charged as well.

Yesterday I found the "Accounts and Sync Settings" application in my phone and as I checked it there, I found that my email accounts are listed there but the synchronisation settings for them is set to "OFF" which may be the reason why is the push not working.

On the X these would always stay active when surfing the web, playing most games, etc. They now last about 2 minutes before something is killing there processes. I am not using a task killer. It seems to be more of a problem when the X2 is docked.

I have woke up the last two morning finding my LED Light blinking that I had messages.I woke up well before my Night time frame was over, so this should not have received any emails since I had background sync off.I could still see the SmartAction symbol in the top notification bar.This was working just find on Gingerbread.
Whenever I take a look at my battery usage on my Photon, I always see Music and Media rather high in the list. In fact when I checked just now Media was at 12% and Music was at 11%, 3rd and 4th in the list. (The phone's only been on for about 90 minutes.) Since both of these apps suck, I have other apps that I use for photos (QuickPic) and music (MixZing) and don't bother using the built in apps. It's bad enough that I can't remove these apps, but the fact that they're adding extra drain on the battery adds injury to insult. When I inspect the running apps, for Music I found AmgSyncService running which appears to be part of MotoBlur. Searching the web the only thing I was able to find was a similar question posted on the xdaDevelopers forum. I suspect there is a similar process running for photos as well, but it hasn't shown up in my list of running processes.
Other than manually killing the AmgSyncService process everytime I start the phone, is there any way to disable this process to prevent it from starting up?
Why does the built-in music player app keep starting itself in the background?Ever since I first got the phone, I kept finding the music player open. Its there about a minute after boot. I use Advanced Task Kill to stop it, a minute later or so and its back. I used Optimize Tool Box to view the startup apps and Music is not one of them. Keep in mind, this is not a background service but the app itself.
