Is there a way to change the pictures that are displayed when Gallery is launched at its main menu? The pictures which are being displayed when I open gallery are old uninteresting photographs and I would love to be able to change it to show either the most recent photos or photos that I select.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEver since the ICS update, my gallery likes to not show the pictures that are on my phone. They were visible pre-ICS, but are now not. If I use a file manager I can see that they are still on my phone and even view them, but they refuse to pop up in my gallery. I have tried the unmounting and mounting of my SD card as I have seen people wiht similar problems do, but have had no success.
Is there a new folder that the pictures need to be moved to to be seen by the gallery app? I'm guessing no because they did occassionally show up after the update, but now won't at all. Still, worth asking.
I selected which folders I wanted to save into my gallery when having my phone plugged in but when I disconnected the photos were all in one folder jumbled?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore the update, my gallery used to be able to sort by folders that I organized through computer. However, after the update it seems like the gallery put all my pictures in the same folder and can only be sorted by date, name, etc but not by folders.
Is there a way to display in folders with the stock gallery? I think the new gallery update is so inconvenient!
If I assign a picture to a contact using the gallery i.e. pictures that I took and store on my SD card. Then I say delete the picture(s from the SD card do I lose the picture assigned to the contact? Or is the picture assigned to a contact 'special' and also resized and kept somewhere else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently started having a problem in the Gallery when it comes adding pictures to albums. Whenever I try adding a picture to an album I get an error that says "Sorry - The application Gallery (process com.motorola.gallery) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." The only option I have is to force close, no report option. I have tried shutting down the phone and rebooting it and the problem is still occurring. I also have done a full system scan using the antivirus app, Lookout. No problems showed up on the scan. I have also done a hard reset (removing the battery)

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my DX, whenever I went to the Gallery, I was presented with the folders on my SD card that contained photos and videos. One folder I had was called "Wallpapers". On the DX2, all photos and videos get lumped together and there is no way of navigating to the folder that contains the photos or videos you want to see or play.I understand that there is a way to "group" photos and videos by day, week, or month. Fine. But why not also let you group them by the folders they are in on your SD card?If you click on "My library" and then click on the "My Library: Timeline" drop-down button at the top of the screen, you get a popup that shows you can view your "My library" by Albums, Locations, Tags, and Timeline. Again, why not also include the folders that they are in on your SD card? I was hoping that was what viewing your library by "Albums" would be, but that's not the case. When I click on that, I get two albums: "All videos" and "All photos". Not very convenient if you want to view a particular movie, video clip, or photo. I don't want to have to sort through a folder containing ALL of the videos or ALL of the photos.
Here's the problem as I see it in practice:Say you want to change your wallpaper. Okay, long-press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers". Now, select where you want to pull your wallpaper from. "Gallery". On my DX, it would take me to the Gallery and it would show separate folders for Camera, All Photos, and the folder I created for all of my wallpapers, called "Wallpapers". So then I could click on the "Wallpapers" folder and easily select the image I wanted as my wallpaper.ith the DX2, after long-pressing on your home screen and selecting "Wallpapers" and then "Gallery" as the source, it takes you straight to ALL of your pictures. I have more than 1,700 on my SD card so I don't want to scroll through all of them just to find the wallpaper images I saved that are mixed in with photos I took with my phone, downloaded images, etc. Sure, if you click on the Menu button and select "Group by", you can group all of the thousands of images by Day, Week, or Month, but again that doesn't help since who the heck knows when those wallpapers were created?
Is there any way to separate the photos in the gallery into folders? I have them in folders on my SD card but in the gallery it throws them all into one folder. I noticed I can access my folders by using the files app, however, I was hoping to have the option in the gallery as well.

Some of these photos are of contact photos of people I don't want to look at all the time such as business associates. Ok so I just got the droid phone called the Atrix and after setting up my applications I then tried going to my photo gallery supplied on the phone to look through my photos, but when clicking on the gallery it acts as if it is loading, but then a notifications pops up that says "Sorry Activity Gallerys is not responding." I dont understand why it is saying that or how to fix it seeing as how this phone is BRAND NEW!!! I do know that my memory card did have alot of photos saved on it but I dont see how that should matter!!! If I go to my files and then click on the different folders that hold my photos I am able to get to them but not through the gallery

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i take photos from the camera, some photos randomly becoming like panoramas...like titles (happens 1 out 50 captures : single photo gets broken out into multiple tiles and rearranging them in a random order)and i am not able to revert it back to what the photo originally was, Touch screen gets frozen Out(unresponsive) at times...currently i am just pressing the power button twice to over come this problem, When the phone is in the pocket and you are connected to the headset...if a call comes then screen is getting unlocked ..even though you are using hands free(wired in my case) for answering that call.. and options like loud speaker or other things getting pressed in the pocket... the dolution that i found out is adding another lock to the default android lock would solve this.

How do I change this? I've trashed the widget and now just use accuweather but the FB posts are irritating me.

On every font I have (widgets, text, email, home screen), It shows up as a cursive type. I thought when you purchase a phone it is bold normal type. change this font back to regular bold style. How do you have defualt or normal font? This cursive style is way to hard on the eyes for enjoyment.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my Motorola Atrix 2 to the new 4.0.4 OS. Previously, I had my phone set up so that I had to enter a pin # if my phone had been asleep for 30 minutes or more. Otherwise, if less than 30 minutes, turning the phone on (from sleep) went directly to the home screen (no swiping or unlock needed). Under the new OS, I cannot seem to keep this. Now, there is a 2-step unlock process (selecting key icon, and then unlock option -- lock icon -- in order to get to main screen). The only way to avoid this annoying 2-step process (that doesn't really add any security) is to turn off all locks, but I would prefer to have some security (i.e. through pin lock after 30 minutes asleep). Anyway to disable this annoying 2-step/swype feature when turning on phone without disabling all locks? If not, is there anyway to go back to my previous OS?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change which photo is displayed for certain contacts. Right now it automatically puts facebook photos, I'm trying to change it to a different picture. I go into the contact, click edit, tell it to use an existing photo, I crop the photo how I want it, click save, it shows the new photo in the edit screen, I click save again and it defaults back to the facebook photo.
