I'd like to make a slideshow in chronological order of my pictures from the oldest to the newest one. However apparently there is no way to select this order, only inverse is possible in gallery (newest to oldest).
y son's xoom has movies on it and he has been watching them, but now for some reason when he clicks on gallery it stalls and re starts it self, so we can't get into gallery at all,
Just got the 4.1.2 OTA update and can no longer find the camera or gallery apps. Not in the app tray, or in the "all apps" list in settings. I can't even open the camera from the lock screen, the icon is still there, but it does nothing.
When i look at a slideshow in the Gallery app, it zooms in on the photos before it transitions to the next. I realize they're just trying to be eye-catching, but I find it to be a distraction. i can't seem to find any slideshow settings for Gallery in the Xoom.
How can I transfer pictures which I can see in Gallery to my PC? When I use ES File Explorer or File Manager those apps cannot find these pictures on the internal storage or external card but those albums and photos are visible in Gallery. The file manager apps see some albums but not all of those visible in Gallery. The PC cannot see them either using Windows Explorer as it only sees the same albums which the Xoom file manager apps can see.
I have updated my Xoom to 3.1 and now have my sd card active. I have put a picture (jpeg) folder onto the sd card, and now I want to link the folder to the Gallery shortcut on my tablet so that I can show my pictures using the Gallery shortcut instead of having to go via my file manager app and then selecting the individual pictures on the sd card.
I've finally decided to do I just got the customary 14% charge warning, and so I open up Settings > Applications > Battery Use and Gallery is listed as consuming 44%.This is crazy, especially since I haven't even USED Gallery since the last time I charged (which was done following an auto-power down fwiw).I thought about going into Advanced Task Killer and seeing if I could change the settings to make it really aggressive against Gallery, but it informs me that all "green labeled" tasks are "front apps" that can't be killed directly. Manually killing it gives no joy -- the damn thing is right back in the list like some annoying Warner Bros. cartoon character the next time I open ATK.
I used to brag about the Xoom's battery life, but it's getting so I can't any more.I have not yet sent in my Xoom for the 4G upgrade; currently running build number HTK75D, but this has been an issue long before this build.
After the upgrade to ICS (obviously my XOOM wrongly assumes its T-Mobile Germany) my picasa albums are no longer showing in the Gallery app.In Settings -> Accounts & sync -> <my Google account> the "Sync Picasa Web Albums" is missing (not just unchecked - not there). All sync options are checked.I tried deleting an readding my google account and a factory reset without succes. Picasa albums are still not there. My picasa albums are not public but showing fine on my Transformer Pad (also ICS 4.0.3).
For example, I have one album folder with 500 photos in it.. It started with 500 pics in the folder, next thing I know there are 1000 photos in the same folder.. Duplicates of the original 500... Now the same folder contains 1500 photos, 3 copies of each of the original 500.. This is happening with all the gallery folders.. They all have 3 copies of each pic in each folder. This is the first Xoom released LTE-WI-FI model,Can anyone give me a reason why they keep multiplying like rabbits.. All the photo folders are stored on the ext. Micro SD card.. So instead of having roughly 2000 Pics as it should be, I now have 6000... Why would each folder now contain 3 copies of each pic..
After my update to 3.2 I am unable to play any movies from my gallery that are .mp4 or .m4v format that worked before. When you click on a movie the Screen Fades but nothing plays.
Up till now I had been playing with a non US 3.1 Xoom. I would stick video content (mainly avi files encoded as divx) in the Movies folder. Selecting the Movie folder from Gallery would show all the content but the only program that would play them was Rockplayer which I had installed.
I know have a US Xoom with 3.2 firmware. With the same type of content in the Movies folder together with a MP4 file encoded with Handbrake to specs that the Xoom can play, Gallery only shows me that MP4 file. The other files just don't show up at all. The only way I can play them is to use ES Filemanager to browse that folder and click the filename to play it or use Rockplayer's explorer interface.
How to delete unwanted picture data from gallery (XOOM) It's not that simple, in this case. I recently discovered somehow I had downloaded over 490 images into my gallery. Some 21 say Blogger pictures, and 459 are entitled from my Wordpress blog. I don't have a clue how they got on my tablet, and there are many duplicates. The option to delete was not there, just a bunch of places to send the pictures to: Picassa, Gmail, email, etc.
Go to Settings > Applications>Manage Applications > All, and scroll down to find Gallery. Tap to open it up, do a Force Stop first, if open. Then tap Clear Data. I only had 12 pictures on my tablet at this point so I emailed them all to myself, in the event they went poof. Then I held my breath, hit Clear Data, then went in and looked at my Gallery. The downloaded data was gone, all 490+ pictures, and the best part is, my pictures were still there! Those, I can delete from the Xoom, no problem.
Next, I went back into my Gallery, and to my dismay, right before my eyes, those 490+ pictures that were gone, began reloading back into my gallery! Where are they coming from?!?! 21 of them say Blogger Photos, and 459 are entitled "Stella's Blog". I don't have either app on my tablet, I can access either blog by using my browser, and have only done so a couple times. Next, I rebooted the tablet, went back to check the Gallery, and yes, the images were gone, but then they came right back again....where are they coming from and how do I get rid of them permanently?
Running ICS on Xoom Wifi. When creating a photo gallery widget, and selecting a single image, then go to crop, it seems to freeze the tablet on Saving Picture... prompt. Touching the controls icons won't do anything, just blank screen.I have to wait for a few, then the launcher freeze popup saying wait/report/stop. When creating photo gallery widget from album or shuffle, it works. It just doesn't work with single image. I think this is a bug, repeatable with any images.if I have space left, it says 28.11 GB free.
I loaded a lot of photos from my computer onto my Electrify. All of them appear in the Gallery. The gallery is too large. Is there any way to remove a photo from the gallery without deleting it completely from the phone?
On my DX, whenever I went to the Gallery, I was presented with the folders on my SD card that contained photos and videos. One folder I had was called "Wallpapers". On the DX2, all photos and videos get lumped together and there is no way of navigating to the folder that contains the photos or videos you want to see or play.I understand that there is a way to "group" photos and videos by day, week, or month. Fine. But why not also let you group them by the folders they are in on your SD card?If you click on "My library" and then click on the "My Library: Timeline" drop-down button at the top of the screen, you get a popup that shows you can view your "My library" by Albums, Locations, Tags, and Timeline. Again, why not also include the folders that they are in on your SD card? I was hoping that was what viewing your library by "Albums" would be, but that's not the case. When I click on that, I get two albums: "All videos" and "All photos". Not very convenient if you want to view a particular movie, video clip, or photo. I don't want to have to sort through a folder containing ALL of the videos or ALL of the photos.
Here's the problem as I see it in practice:Say you want to change your wallpaper. Okay, long-press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers". Now, select where you want to pull your wallpaper from. "Gallery". On my DX, it would take me to the Gallery and it would show separate folders for Camera, All Photos, and the folder I created for all of my wallpapers, called "Wallpapers". So then I could click on the "Wallpapers" folder and easily select the image I wanted as my wallpaper.ith the DX2, after long-pressing on your home screen and selecting "Wallpapers" and then "Gallery" as the source, it takes you straight to ALL of your pictures. I have more than 1,700 on my SD card so I don't want to scroll through all of them just to find the wallpaper images I saved that are mixed in with photos I took with my phone, downloaded images, etc. Sure, if you click on the Menu button and select "Group by", you can group all of the thousands of images by Day, Week, or Month, but again that doesn't help since who the heck knows when those wallpapers were created?
Is there a way to change the pictures that are displayed when Gallery is launched at its main menu? The pictures which are being displayed when I open gallery are old uninteresting photographs and I would love to be able to change it to show either the most recent photos or photos that I select.
Is there any way to separate the photos in the gallery into folders? I have them in folders on my SD card but in the gallery it throws them all into one folder. I noticed I can access my folders by using the files app, however, I was hoping to have the option in the gallery as well.
I recently had to do a factory reset for a different issue and now I don't see my Google photos in the Gallery. When I originally set up the phone they appeared automatically.
I have some forlders on the internal storage that contain mass amounts of images that are inteded to be used as data, not media. Is there a way to designate where the media app pulls its picures from?
The My Gallery app on the Razr/Razr Maxx automatically chooses photographs to display on the opening screen of My Gallery. Some of these photos are of contact photos of people I don't want to look at all the time such as business associates. I would prefer to replace the photos of my choosing such as pictures of my family, friends , vacation etc.
Is there any way to re-select the photos that are displayed on the opening My Gallery screen?
Wel, the subject line says it all - my Xoom just deleted every photo from the internal memory /mnt/sdcard/dcim/camera.
Using file manager HD I can see that the thumbnails folder is still there, with most of, but not all, of the thumbnails there - which would indicate that the photos are still on the internal memory, just not showing up.I can't use Wondershare Photo Recovery or any other type of recovery program because the Xoom uses MPT instead of mounting as a mass usb drive and therefore Windows won't allocate a drive letter.
Luckily I had most of the photos backed up on the sdcard (which was also wiped) and was able to recover them but I am still missing ones taken over the last few days.
Is there any way to recover these pictures / videos, or to have the Xoom mount as a mass usb device?
I have deleted 4 pictures in the gallery app from the sdcard/pictures directory. I exited the gallery and returned some time later and ther is now a seperate album showing 4 pictures with no thumbnail and the won't open. These blank pics have the same file names as the ones deleted and are stored in the same directory. Getting info on these pics shows the original file size and name, but with a resolution of 0x0 and they can't be opened. Exploring the sdcard/pictures directory with file explorer does not show the 4 files in question.
Update- I shut down my Xoom and restarted. Launched the Gallery app. The blank picture album appeared momentarily and then disappeared.
We bought a Xoom to use on vacation instead of taking a laptop. I want to download photos and videos taken with my Canon Camera into my Xoom. I have the adapter for the Canon that allow me to convert the SDHD to a Micro SD, so that I can pop in ito the Xoom. I can view the photos fronm the Canon card on the Xoom, but it won't let me download them into the device. I don't want to have to go thru a computer to do this. So is it possible to download from the SD card onto the Xoom.
Also, when we watch the videos that were recorded on the Canon with the Xoom, they are at a slowed down speed. Would seem that if they were actually downloaded to the Xoom, it would take care of this issue.
I do not want to use the Xoom to take these photos. My Canon camera is the device we will use to capture the photos for multiple reasons.
I tried moving photos from my xoom to my Dell inspirion XP. I just couldn't do it. I connected the two devices via the usb cable and the computer recognized the xoom, but did not know what to do after that. The xoom says drop and drag
My camera will allow me to take a picture, and the image appears in the preview circle. When I click the preview circle, I get an error of a picture with a triangle and exclamation point.
Troubleshooting performed so far:
Reboot Deleted System Cache from holding power and down volume from powered off device Went to Settings > General > apps > All > Camera (and Gallery), and cleared Cache and Cleared Data Went to Setting > General > Storage > clicked on Cached data, and cleared
I did restore to the defaults on my HTC One and after the reset, the photos which I uploaded to Dropbox don't appear at the Dropbox tab in the Gallery of my HTC One. When I click on the Dropbox tab at the Gallery of my phone it appears: "This user has no album to show" the same happens and on Google Drive. Before the reset everything was normal.
