Mar 13, 2012Not sure if this issue is related, but I changed my apple ID password yesterday, and this morning, my Iphone asked for my password before I could read an incoming text from a contact that is already stored in my iphone. And since then, text messages from some of my contacts, when I look in the "messages" identify the incoming message's sender not by their appropriate contact name I have stored in my iphone for them, but instead identifies them as " +1 and the phone number of that contact." For example if I have a friend stored as Susan in my contacts, but for some reason when I send a text or receive one from that contact, it doesn't identfy the sender as Susan but lists her number with a " +1 " before it (the number isn't stored with a +1 in my contacts).

Jun 28, 2010I have the iPhone 4 and whether I use the contacts app or the phone app to make a new contact, when I try to add a picture, it never saves. You would have to first create the contact, then go back and edit it and add a picture either by taking a photo or using an existing photo. Am I the only one having this problem?
Also, if you, for example add in name, number, etc then try to snap a photo, not only will it not save the photo, but the info you just added is erased kinda strange.

IPhone :: Not Receiving Texts & Calls From A Couple Of Contacts
Jul 4, 2012I've tried all over the Internet, my network provider and work colleagues but I'm have an annoying problem with my iPhone 3GS.
Out of all my contacts in my phone book everyone works ok apart from only 2! The 2 can receive my texts and my calls but the "Cannot" reply to me as if the call the get "Call Failed" and the texts send from their phone but I don't receive them.
I've deleted and re-entered the contacts (They have done the same)......I have done a "Complete Factory Reset" of my iPhone but the problem still persists with these 2 contacts only.
I have not blocked them..(Don't know how to) & I don't have any "Blocker Apps) on my phone but the problem still won't go away.

Jun 26, 2014I used to have an old LG flip-phone and an iPod Touch. I lost the iPod Touch about six months ago. This week I got my iPhone. I had to go to the Verizon store to have them take all the contacts off the LG phone and put them onto my iPod.Â
I had painstakingly pared down my iTunes music library to choice selection of checked items that were small enough to fit on the iPod touch. I didn't want to go through that process again, so I hooked my iPhone up to my computer for the first time, opened iTunes, and synced with the iPod touch backup on my computer. It would have been smart to have backed up the iPhone first, but I didn't. Since I couldn't text with the iPod Touch, it didn't occur to me that the existing texts on my iPhone would be overwritten.Â
Now all the media files and apps from my old iPod Touch are on my new iPhone 5. The new iPhone apps I downloaded yesterday are on there, too. But the contacts and texts have vanished.Â
To review: no iTunes backup of iPhone data. No iCloud backup, either-- I've never used iCloud before.Â
I downloaded Wondershare's iPhone Data Recovery program and used it to scan data on the device. The scan shows 0 contacts and only the 2 text messages that I've received this evening. Curiously, it does have my entire call history from the last week.Â
So is there any way to recover the texts from this last week?

Galaxy S5 :: Background Data Disabled - Google Play Store Needs Background Data To Be Enabled
Jun 24, 2014I have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".

Dec 23, 2010I just bought a brand the N8 a couple of days ago, and went to change the caller photo on one of my friends, so that I'd see his ugly face when he was calling me. I'm not sure how I messed this up but that now everyone in my phonebook has his face stuck to the background of the call-screen whenever I call someone or receive a call.
I tried to just rename the photo but then when I tried to make a call my phone would deny it. I simply could not make a call from it. How wasted is that?
So I rename the photo, reboot my phone, and I'm still calling everyone with his ugly face stuck to my ear.

After some time I decided to delete this and not to have any other photo assigned to this person, so deleted the same thru' Options-->Image--.Remove( in contacts). Still when I received or made a call to this no. the photo got displayed. Then I deleted this photo from the images folder on phone all together (it was in phone memory). Now there was no photo display during receiving - making calls to that particular person. After this I once again copied the same photo to its original Images folder. It again gets displayed during calls.. Though there is no thumbnail display against the person in contacts..

Aug 8, 2010I was over at my sister's home. She decided to take a crack at guessing my blackberry password... 10 times. Ultimately she ended up clearing about 4 months worth of text messages, and contacts, the photos however remained unscathed.This lead me to wonder;
1. What is affected by a memory wipe.
2. Whether it's actually called a memory wipe, when someone enters your password wrong too many times.
3. Is there any way to get my contacts back?
4. Is there any way to get my saved texts back.Before I go on, I realize that this phone was and is designed specifically for business, I don't expect that there would be a way to get this information back, as that would defeat the purpose of a memory wipe in the first place.
5. How and where can I install the desktop manager? I've only been using my BB how it came out from the box because the CD included tends to freeze / crash my computer.
6. Why is it that the photos remain on the phone? 7. Before the memory wipe, my SIM card had enough space to hold tens of thousands of text messages, now after the wipe, and just another 10 - 20 texts, it constantly says "The SIM card is full." this is what got me HOPING, PRAYING, that somehow, my data was still in there somewhere.
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you have an answer or a thought on any of the above, please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get. (New to BB, New to forums, I might as well right "Lost" on my forehead and walk around this website.
BB Bold 9700 :: Sending Texts To Only Couple Contacts
Aug 4, 2010i have a bold 9700, version 5.1.0.146, recently i have had issues sending texts to only a couple contacts, always in a certain time frame of the night after midnight. my time. I can send and recieve texts from other contacts. It is not this other persons phone.I have tried both reset options numerous times, i do notice once the phone comes back on i have new messages, that are actually old already read messages. So it seems the memory is goofy. i have changed my text delete time from 30 days to 15 days, and have cleaned up some memory in other areas. After midnight i seem to also get old messages poping up at the bottom of the screen as if they were just recieved. its sooooo weird! someone please help its getting very annoying.

Aug 13, 2011My 3-month-old Flipside loads text messages and my contacts very slowly, to the point where it can take in excess of five minutes to create and send a text. I know the problem isn't too many texts in my inbox, since I delete them frequently & usually only have one or two brief conversations in them. When I start typing a contact's name in the sender box, my phone doesn't automatically search my contacts for autocomplete (or does so very slowly), even if I hit the OK button, which has occasionally sped up the process. Therefore, I have to go through my contacts manually & send the message from there. But this is still a problem, since my phone loads my contacts slowly, also. I do have a lot of contacts, probably around 800, because my phone is synced to my Facebook & Twitter accounts. However, I can't un-sync them because then I can't have Facebook or Twitter on my phone--there's no way to have site access without syncing my address book. This is getting to be very frustrating & super inconvenient.
