I have to send my iPhone 4 back due to a fault...for the second time...and as my wife and I share the same itunes account when I backed up my phone the last time it did not transfer all of my own contacts to the new handset when I carried out a 'restore from backup'. Does she need to have her own Apple Id to stop this happening? And if so, does that mean that we cannot share bought apps and songs in future?

So my Blackberry 8220's screen recently stopped working, but I had a spare Pearl 8100. I installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager and made a back up of my Blackberry Flip. I tried transferring my data from the Flip to the Pearl and also tried using the Flip backup file to restore the Pearl.
After trying both methods, I was able to get my text messages and call log to show up, and some calls I get have the contact name show up instead of the number. However I still have no contacts in my address book.
I got a new Galaxy S5 about a year ago and put my old SIM card in it to transfer my contacts. The SIM card was used in a Motorola Atrix HD and a Nokia Lumia 520. I need to update and delete some of the original contacts that I put on the SIM card when I was using the two previous phones. However, my Galaxy S5 simply will not register any of the changes. If I choose to delete one of the contacts, it says "The contact will be deleted" but then nothing happens. If I try to edit one of the contacts, it says "Unable to save contact."
This issue only occurs when attempting to edit contacts that were added to the SIM card on either of the two previous phones. If I try to edit or delete a contact that I added using my Galaxy S5, everything works just fine. It sounds like this is an authentication/security issue of some kind, but how do I get around it?
i switched from iphone to lumia 920 and not all my contacts transferred. i already added my gmail account where my contacts are stored, but not all showing up. here's an example: my iphone is no longer active but still connected via wifi. a text showed up on that phone (from another iphone user) but it did not show up on my new lumia 920.

Carrier is Virgin Media; OS is V4.6.1.314 (platform 4.2.0.135); Desktop Manager Version is 5.0.1.2.8 I have transferred photos, music and some documents from my PC successfully to my BB using Desktop Manager. However some .doc files transfer, but I cannot open them on the BB. I get an error message saying a file cannot be opened as it is an RTF file. I also notice that when I start to transfer the files, the little window that pops up does not give me the option to convert them - it is grayed out. I have a blackberry 8520. I started having a problem with my memory card recently. When I connect my phone to my computer I can transfer music and pictures to my memory card. But once I disconnect it, I can't get anything i.e. the music folder is empty as well as the picture folder&video folder. I've formatted my memory card, and redid the process and still its the same problem. Taken my phone apart still the same problem. And I've checked and in my settings it says my memory card is inserted even shows how much space I have left etc. I can't even store any pics I take or see them on my phone I can't even rename them cause it tells me that operation isn't allowed on a read only file. I've checked my settings and its setting is everything must be saved to my memory card even changed the amount or size of pics. Even changed the type of pictures that can be taken from super fine to normal.

I have just given the x10 to a courier who has taken it away, and just tried to work out how to restore back onto the Desire, and now i'm starting to realise it may not actually work that way

View 6 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this issue is related, but I changed my apple ID password yesterday, and this morning, my Iphone asked for my password before I could read an incoming text from a contact that is already stored in my iphone. And since then, text messages from some of my contacts, when I look in the "messages" identify the incoming message's sender not by their appropriate contact name I have stored in my iphone for them, but instead identifies them as " +1 and the phone number of that contact." For example if I have a friend stored as Susan in my contacts, but for some reason when I send a text or receive one from that contact, it doesn't identfy the sender as Susan but lists her number with a " +1 " before it (the number isn't stored with a +1 in my contacts).

I was over at my sister's home. She decided to take a crack at guessing my blackberry password... 10 times. Ultimately she ended up clearing about 4 months worth of text messages, and contacts, the photos however remained unscathed.This lead me to wonder;
1. What is affected by a memory wipe.
2. Whether it's actually called a memory wipe, when someone enters your password wrong too many times.
3. Is there any way to get my contacts back?
4. Is there any way to get my saved texts back.Before I go on, I realize that this phone was and is designed specifically for business, I don't expect that there would be a way to get this information back, as that would defeat the purpose of a memory wipe in the first place.
5. How and where can I install the desktop manager? I've only been using my BB how it came out from the box because the CD included tends to freeze / crash my computer.
6. Why is it that the photos remain on the phone? 7. Before the memory wipe, my SIM card had enough space to hold tens of thousands of text messages, now after the wipe, and just another 10 - 20 texts, it constantly says "The SIM card is full." this is what got me HOPING, PRAYING, that somehow, my data was still in there somewhere.
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you have an answer or a thought on any of the above, please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get. (New to BB, New to forums, I might as well right "Lost" on my forehead and walk around this website.
