I had to get a new device (iphone) and when I restored my info to the new device, everything transferred except my contacts - icon and all are missing.

I have to send my iPhone 4 back due to a fault...for the second time...and as my wife and I share the same itunes account when I backed up my phone the last time it did not transfer all of my own contacts to the new handset when I carried out a 'restore from backup'. Does she need to have her own Apple Id to stop this happening? And if so, does that mean that we cannot share bought apps and songs in future?

i switched from iphone to lumia 920 and not all my contacts transferred. i already added my gmail account where my contacts are stored, but not all showing up. here's an example: my iphone is no longer active but still connected via wifi. a text showed up on that phone (from another iphone user) but it did not show up on my new lumia 920.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my Blackberry 8220's screen recently stopped working, but I had a spare Pearl 8100. I installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager and made a back up of my Blackberry Flip. I tried transferring my data from the Flip to the Pearl and also tried using the Flip backup file to restore the Pearl.
After trying both methods, I was able to get my text messages and call log to show up, and some calls I get have the contact name show up instead of the number. However I still have no contacts in my address book.
I got a new Galaxy S5 about a year ago and put my old SIM card in it to transfer my contacts. The SIM card was used in a Motorola Atrix HD and a Nokia Lumia 520. I need to update and delete some of the original contacts that I put on the SIM card when I was using the two previous phones. However, my Galaxy S5 simply will not register any of the changes. If I choose to delete one of the contacts, it says "The contact will be deleted" but then nothing happens. If I try to edit one of the contacts, it says "Unable to save contact."
This issue only occurs when attempting to edit contacts that were added to the SIM card on either of the two previous phones. If I try to edit or delete a contact that I added using my Galaxy S5, everything works just fine. It sounds like this is an authentication/security issue of some kind, but how do I get around it?
Well, I JUST got a LG G4. Switched from IPhone 5. I got it at best buy. They did the picture/video transfer and all the pics are there but I can't find the videos anywhere. So I went to the AT&T store and they did the video swap using their equipment . We watched the screen on the transfer box/computer and it said 66 videos downloaded. (66 is exactly how many vids I have). Same deal! I look in my photo/vid folder and no vids! Where these videos are hiding? Also it appears all my pics went to internal memory and I don't want that. I want them on my SD card.

I upgraded from a 4 to a 4s. Yesterday, I first downloaded newest version of iTunes. Then, I backed up my iPhone 4 (3 times to be sure). Then I got my 4s and followed the instructions to restore it to the backup of my 4. My first hurdle was having to update the ios on the 4s (refurbished phone). Then, I was able to see the last backup from my 4, and i followed the steps to the letter on restoring it to that backup. All my contact and messages restored, but now I have NO music or apps on my 4s OR in iTunes. HELP! What did I do wrong? I'm panicking! I should mention that I have 2 apple IDs, but I don't think that's the issue, because I think I would at least see some of my apps.

A friend and I swapped Iphones and the voicemail greeting on my voicemail transferred to my old Iphone (friend's new Iphone). And everytime I go to check my voicemails, it tells me that I must set up my voicemail. I have done it at least 3 times now. I am also getting voicemails going both my friend and myself. I called my phone carrier, Verizon, and they said everything was successfully transferred, and are unaware as to why this is happening.

I am developing a free app for users and would like to promote the app at various festivals and events at our booth. Other than the user locating the app through the App Store/iTunes or going to our website to download the app, is there any quicker way of transferring the app onto their iPhone? A while ago, I transferred a folder of photos that I have on my Sony Vaio laptop to my iPhone 4s through iTunes and now I'm trying to get rid of it but I can't, I can't even delete it on my phone. I can't really remember how I transferred the folder in the first place, but I remember that I did it through the Photos tab on iTunes and ticked a box that allowed me to select an album that I wanted to transfer. I used the PC companion to transfer pictures and notes from my old iPhone 4s and although I unchecked messages it seems those came along too. No big deal, however when I attempt to delete them the message app freezes, then when I try to reopen it the screen just goes black and I can't access my sms messages at all. If I restart my phone I can access my messages again and send and receive texts no problem but if I attempt to delete the messages the problem continues.
