While deleting other messages, I accidentally deleted a text I needed to keep. Is there anyway to restore it?

How to restore deleted phone contacts? Somehow I managed to wipe the phone contacts, all other options in the people app are still there, whatsapp, google etc, but I cant find out how to reinstate the contact I deleted. I tried to restore from a backup, as the phone automatically backs up every 24 hours, but for some reason the option to restore back ups is greyed out....

how I would accomplish this through backing up my device? From what I understand, if you backup your device, deleted texts are included in the backup file. If I were to restore my iPhone using this backup file, would the previously deleted texts now show back up on the phone? This is the part I don't fully understand.
Basically on E72, I had messages in inbox, my folders and sent section. Once I restarted phone and then phone froze. I felt the problem was due to Vlingo application, because I pressed home button to see which applications were open that were casuing the freezing. So I restarted the phone and all messages were deleted. However my messages were saved as a backup on another memory card. So I only lost a couple of texts. But the same, exactly same problem happened yesterday. Now all texts on both memory cards have been deleted. I have now disabled vlingo to open on start up.
1. The only backup I have now is a pc suite backup of texts, as an .nbu file which I can restore using pc suite or ovi suite. However after I restore, the messaging application does not open and I have to restart phone. Also the texts inside "my folder" do not appear, only in my inbox and sent. Is there any way, of getting all the texts to appear including my folder texts?
2. Obviously the above solution doesnt give me all my texts back, so is there any chance of restoring the texts, from the memory cards even though it doesnt work when I insert it inside the E72. Im hoping by restoring old data inside the memory card by opening it on the laptop or something?
3. I heard, that texts do not get deleted at all, but just blocked, so anyone know if I can unblock them?
4. Or can my network provider send me texts, that I have recieved and sent over last couple of months.
My wife and I recently got iPhones, maybe a month ago, and we share the same iTunes account. I synced our music/apps to my phone about 2 weeks ago, and this morning my wife went to sync hers. She said she hit the 'Restore' option upon connection, not thinking that meant to restore my data onto her phone. Now, she has an identical phone to mine, and we're unsure of how to get back her contacts, messages, calendars, etc.
Is there anything we can do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI backed up content using the backup/restore app that came with the phone, and i spoke to someone at o2 who said if i did that, i would be able to restore my texts and contacts (main things i care about atm) onto HTC Desire S, using that back up which i saved to my sd card. I have just given the x10 to a courier who has taken it away, and just tried to work out how to restore back onto the Desire, and now i'm starting to realise it may not actually work that way

I didn't realize the contacts from my e-mail were synchronized with my BB. I deleted contacts in my e-mail and to my surprise it deleted the contacts from my BB as well. I had assumed i would be able to save/backup/restore the most important info on my cell like my text messages, phone contacts and ALL my photos in my photostream thru iTunes and NOT have to shell out $3.99US + taxes to be able to do so! The App Store has only 1 free app (out of a whopping 5) which, of course, i cannot use on my 6.1.6 iOS..

How do I save and access ALL my 600 pics from my phone when only 56 are listed to be able to be saved on iTunes? Would I be completely delusional to hope there is an app or software that could do a cross-platform transfer of my stuff to an Android phone....??Â

I was having problems downloading from the app store (which another thread resolution solved for me) but in the midst of working on this issue, a friend suggested I do a hard reset on the phone by holding the top power button and the little dot on the front until it just shut off. I did this and I come back to none of my text messages. They have all been deleted. I can't find anything on the forums about this.
I am not sure I particularly care, meaning I don't think I had too much in the way of important information contained in them, but it wasn't supposed to do that so that's a bit annoying to me. Why did my phone do something it wasn't supposed to do?

I don't go into those things for fear of doing that. It started last week when my phone was not showing my contact name with the phone number when someone would call me. I went to go and pull up a number today and my entire contact book was empty.I have already tried the following:
-Battery pull, waited for 15 secs.
-Checked my address book filters-both boxes are unchecked

How can I ensure they are deleted permanently? Do I need to sync to Itunes, or will that bring them back again (I have gone through and deleted yet again from my iphone but dont want them to come back) I don't want them to transfer onto my ipad so I haven't linked my ipad and iphone yet.

I am trying to figure out how to get back some texts that I accidently erased. They were erased BEFORE my last sync, or the last time I plugged my phone into the computer so there is they have never been in my itunes. They are just in the phone. There has to be a way to get them back right?

My phone contacts were deleted after I restarted my Nokia C6-00.
This has happened twice in the last 15 days.
As I had done a backup a month ago, I ws able to retrieve most of the contacts. But those ones which I added in the last 15 days could not be retrieved. Is there a solution or some setting changes that i need to do for the contacts list deletion problem?
I have just updated my software in response to a notice on my phone and my contacts are deleted messages and phone log are intact
