I'm new to the Motorola Atrix 4G and was wondering is there anyway you can delete emails without deleting them from the sever? If not is there a e-mail app you'll would recommend?

I can view the person who had this phones email account, but I can't set my new one up. I use the "email setup wizard" go into it, connect, and then it asks me my email address, I enter the CORRECT one and that's as far as this thing will let me go. I don't even get to the part where it asks me for a Password. after I enter my email address it tries to connect to the server (which is yahoo mail) and then I get the message "Unable to connect to server. Try again later."....And that's all it keeps doing. I have no clue how to set up an email on this phone. I use it with my WAN connection and with my providers internet and get the same message both times.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have always been able to delete emails on my Atrix and still be able to download them on my PC later.I'm using the standard IMAP configuration that sets itself up to AT&T automatically.I have not altered those settings.I've deleted my 2 email accounts on my Atrix and reinstalled them.I can't find any options on my Atrix that allow me to choose to leave messages on the server.On my PC, I'm using Outlook 2007.In the email account configurations, I have checked the box that says "Leave a copy of the message on server".I have uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it. No change.I also downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird for email, to see if it also happened using software other than Outlook.It did.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support yesterday.They hacked into my PC to check all of my email settings and couldn't find a problem.They're telling me it's the phone.I"m telling them it's the server!Every once in a while, a deleted email shows up on the PC, as usual, but it's rare, and only seems to happen in one account.
How can I get rid of all my facebook friends in my contacts without deleting all 1600 of them from facebook?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.

Previous to recent update, I could delete messages either on just the 8330 or I could delete the message from both the 8330 and the primary e-mail box from which it transferred. Now after the update, I can only delete from the 8330. Is there a way to get this feature back?

The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). I had added it when I first got the phone. It told me that I was successful but I do not see it. When I attempt to add the account again, I get the message "The account has already been added"

These are all visible under the "Messaging" app (which I placed on the home page) and they have unread email counters at the top-right. I have setup my corporate account as my default on the "Email" app that's also on the home page. I was wanting to see the email counter directly on that home page for that account opposed to having to open the Messaging app.

I'm not a techie but fairly competent with a post grad education and spent over 2 hours with a true techno geek that could not find a solution that only after spending a couple hours in the local AT&T retail center with their gurus trying to determine if the phone was defective.
After reading dozens of posts on outgoing e-mail problems, there are so many different issues that I cannot believe AT&T can market this phone "for the business man" T can market this phone T can market this phone
I just received my Atrix HD today, and it refuses to recognize my verizon.net email address! I'm completely frustrated as to what to do. Every time I try to configure the email it says my password is incorrect. But of course, I can connect to my email fine from my home network via PC and laptop.I was really looking forward to using this phone. If it is a technical issue between Motorola and Verizon, I'll have no choice but to return the phone.

Sending an email is another story. The phone says it is sending it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a couple hours without having received two emails going from my phone to my computer, both with pics. This morning I had finally received the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been correct, even though my computer did not actually receive them at that time. They must have been in At&t limbo for a couple hours???
This morning same thing. I took a pic, sent it to my computer, and upon opening Gmail it says it is sending (in red), but I'm simply not getting it. Is this a phone problem or an At&t problem? It's a bad problem, I'll tell you that. I can't be waiting a couple hours for someone to receive an email.
In the meantime, I'm going to send myself an email without a pic and see if that goes through right away.
