Just got a replacement N5 and I'm using the native email app (as I was on my previous N5), with gmail syncing turned on. The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). Some setting on the phone or in Gmail on the PC that I'm forgetting about?
View 6 RepliesWhen this happens, it never makes it to my outlook on PC, which is where I address my email.Most fixes will say go to settings on "incoming mail" and check "never" delete from server, S6 does NOT have this option.

I have set up my X10 to download emails, which it does successfully, however it deletes them of my service provider's mail server so that they don't come through to my PC any more. I have selected both options on the X10 in "Delete email from server" ie "Never" and "When I delete from Inbox", but each has the same result.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have always been able to delete emails on my Atrix and still be able to download them on my PC later.I'm using the standard IMAP configuration that sets itself up to AT&T automatically.I have not altered those settings.I've deleted my 2 email accounts on my Atrix and reinstalled them.I can't find any options on my Atrix that allow me to choose to leave messages on the server.On my PC, I'm using Outlook 2007.In the email account configurations, I have checked the box that says "Leave a copy of the message on server".I have uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it. No change.I also downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird for email, to see if it also happened using software other than Outlook.It did.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support yesterday.They hacked into my PC to check all of my email settings and couldn't find a problem.They're telling me it's the phone.I"m telling them it's the server!Every once in a while, a deleted email shows up on the PC, as usual, but it's rare, and only seems to happen in one account.

Now when i delete my emails on my phone they now delete from my Macbook and the server as well i am using a BTinternet account as i have just sighed up to their broadband. I have never kept emails on my phone and have always deleted after reading but the email as always been left on the Macbook for future reference and on the server this is really a pain i delete on the phone then thinking it's still on my Macbook as normal now its GONE.
I cannot see any setting to stop this annoying thing...
I have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.
View 4 Replies View Relatedtoday I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..

Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.

The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI feel like ever since updating to Lollipop I've experienced nothing but issues with my phone. Now for no reason my phone decides to delete all the accounts that I have registered on the device. I think I'm not getting any emails and then I go into the stock Gmail app on my phone and it's asking me to add an account. This has happened at least 5 within the past 2 weeks and it's definitely not something I can deal with. A few times I've almost missed important emails because my accounts have disappeared from my phone. Not only do my Google accounts disappear but my Twitter account is lost as well. Nothing else is deleted from my phone, everything is still there just none of the accounts.

Only way it will work is if I remove the account and add it again. Then it will work one time.. I've tried the troubleshooting from Google with no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 9360 is not deleting messages from the server meaning that, after returning home from a week working away, I've still got a few hundred messages to wade through on my PC. I receive e-mails on the PC via Outlook Express. I've clicked on 'tools', 'accounts' then 'advanced' to ensure that the box for 'leave a copy of the message on the server' is unchecked i.e. messages should be being deleted from the server when prompted to by the phone but this is not happening. Not sure what else to try or perhaps there was something I did / didn't do during the set-up of the phone.

Is there a way to permanently disable the gmail app (or better yet, delete it)? Basically, I want to use my gmail account for gtalk and google voice only. (By way of background, I don't use gmail for email, but i do have some email accounts that will forward mail to my gmail account, so I do wind up having "new mail" in gmail every now and then.)
I already have the sync setting turned to OFF under settings -> accounts & sync -> auto sync is OFF and under "manage accounts," my google/gmail account is set to OFF for sync. This seemed to be working fine until I downloaded the update for the HTC one, and upon installation and reboot, all of my apps did a global sync and gmail started ticking again.
I know that I can turn off gmail notifications as a (temporary) workaround, but I'm hoping there is a more permanent solution.
I have a lot of old messages in my visual voicemail and sms text. I have a Blackberry Bold 9700.
Is there some way I can delete all or most of these without having to do them one-by-one?
Since iOS4 it seems no matter what I do the email get archived instead of deleted. Is there a secret I'm missing?
