When this happens, it never makes it to my outlook on PC, which is where I address my email. Most fixes will say go to settings on "incoming mail" and check "never" delete from server, S6 does NOT have this option.
My Blackberry Curve 9360 is not deleting messages from the server meaning that, after returning home from a week working away, I've still got a few hundred messages to wade through on my PC. I receive e-mails on the PC via Outlook Express. I've clicked on 'tools', 'accounts' then 'advanced' to ensure that the box for 'leave a copy of the message on the server' is unchecked i.e. messages should be being deleted from the server when prompted to by the phone but this is not happening. Not sure what else to try or perhaps there was something I did / didn't do during the set-up of the phone.
I've spent so long googling and I've made exactly no progress at all...!!- Problem: my blackberry only keeps text messages for about a week before deleting them- Phone type: It is a blackberry Curve 9320. It seems to be on OS 7.1. I got it around the middle of October 2012.- Also worth noting: unlike most people I've found online with this complaint- my call logs aren't being deleted, and are still intact all the way back to the middle of October when I got the phone.- Also, emails aren't deleted after a week, they perhaps linger for as much as a month before vanishing.
(I don't care about those as much because I can access them other ways, whereas texts I can't)According to various googlings and also questions on here, this is most commonly due to lack of memory, therefore they suggest that you check your memory status and then free some up if required.- When I go into device and status information it tells me that my free memory is around 133602256 bytes (which I believe is in the region of 126mb?). Does this count as a lot or a little? Could this be the source of the problem after all?- Similarly when I look in memory use under media it says 'built-in media storage 96% free (30.4mb)' and 'media card storage 95% free (1.7gb)'The other obvious thing which I've checked (and initially thought had solved the problem but it hadn't) was 'Message display and actions' where I've had 'days to keep messages' set as forever but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.Am I missing something really obvious? How can I get it to keep my messages for more than 7 or 8 days?
Just got a replacement N5 and I'm using the native email app (as I was on my previous N5), with gmail syncing turned on. The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). Some setting on the phone or in Gmail on the PC that I'm forgetting about?
I am wondering how ensure that when I delete emails from my IPhone, they are also deleted on my computer. I have gone into Settings/ Mail, Contacts, Calendars/ Verizon account/ Advanced/ and selected to "delete from server when removed from Inbox".
Now when i delete my emails on my phone they now delete from my Macbook and the server as well i am using a BTinternet account as i have just sighed up to their broadband. I have never kept emails on my phone and have always deleted after reading but the email as always been left on the Macbook for future reference and on the server this is really a pain i delete on the phone then thinking it's still on my Macbook as normal now its GONE.
I cannot see any setting to stop this annoying thing...
I have recently upgraded to the i phone 4S. I have restored from my back up on my Macbook. When I put in all my details to set up my e-mail exchange account all the contacts are deleted. I have tried a few times and ensured that the box's next to contacts calenders and reminders are not checked ( so they don't sync) but it is all still deleted. It seems I can have either my e-mail working or my contacts installed and that can't be right.
I have set up my X10 to download emails, which it does successfully, however it deletes them of my service provider's mail server so that they don't come through to my PC any more. I have selected both options on the X10 in "Delete email from server" ie "Never" and "When I delete from Inbox", but each has the same result.
I have always been able to delete emails on my Atrix and still be able to download them on my PC later.I'm using the standard IMAP configuration that sets itself up to AT&T automatically.I have not altered those settings.I've deleted my 2 email accounts on my Atrix and reinstalled them.I can't find any options on my Atrix that allow me to choose to leave messages on the server. On my PC, I'm using Outlook 2007.In the email account configurations, I have checked the box that says "Leave a copy of the message on server".I have uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it. No change.I also downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird for email, to see if it also happened using software other than Outlook. It did.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support yesterday. They hacked into my PC to check all of my email settings and couldn't find a problem. They're telling me it's the phone.I"m telling them it's the server!Every once in a while, a deleted email shows up on the PC, as usual, but it's rare, and only seems to happen in one account.
When using Nokia email client via IMAP or POP, I cannot find where I can set it up to leave the message on server while deleting it on the phone: I have got thousands e-mails on server (and coming like hundreds dayly) and I don't want to keep them on the phone after reading them. But I DO need them on the server!
I have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.
I heard that it can be deleted automatically when there is little memory space, but I'm keeping an eye on the memory left!
Built-in Media Storage:
otal Free: 61% 3.7 GBTotal Used: 39% 2.5 GBI'm using blackberry for business, so I also receive important SMS. How can they get deleted so conveniently?
I am coming from a Motorola RAZRMAXX to the Motorola Moto X Pure and have found all good for the most part. One thing I am attempting to do is to prevent email deletes on the handset from deleting email on the server account.
I just got a new bold and I haven't had any problems except for I get a ton of emails from a server saying it is connecting to my device. it look like this.. network@etp1109.etp.na.blackberry.net
This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server. How do I get this to stop? It is so annoying and happens like 50 times a day.
my contact is full. I have about 32200 contacts. Ideally I am supposed to have about 500 contacts but most of these have dublicated a hundred times. Is there a way of deleting multiple contacts at once and stop them from multplying?
I have just replaced my old phone with the iPhone 4S and it is great. I am going thorugh the learning curve, and want to be as effcient as I can be as quickly as I can. My first challenge is to try and delete multiple e-mails, rather than doing it one at a time. How can I delete consectutive emails from my in box? I still get junk mail and it would be so much easier to highlight a bunch of them if I could. With my old phone I would click on one of the messages and then start touching the screen below that point and it would include all of the messages in between.
I delete a text message. I kill my message app. Open the app back up and it's just a white screen.
I have to turn my phone off and turn it back on to get my messages back.
But the message that I "deleted" is still there. How do I delete the message?
It's a message that I've had in my phone for a really long time, so I can't delete every text individually considering the conversation was in my phone for two years.
I've tried to delete the message in every way that I know how and it still does this.
Media server is killing my battery, and fast. I mean a 40% drop in 2 hours yesterday while phone was on sleep with wifi and mobile data disabled. I'm in the UK using S5 900F standard model on kitkat 4.4.2.
Since then I have: - unmounted Samsung SD card (it only had a few photos and apps on it, had it a week) - force stopped all "media apps" despite dire warnings as to world ending if I do so etc, and cleared data - repeatedly cleared cache - rebooted phone in safe mode and am monitoring. Battery drain is better but media server is still the main culprit at 27% (down from 51% but still..)
I can't keep it on safe mode all day as it's highly inconvenient.
Phone is unrooted, 3 months old so warranty is important. I can't download mediaserver killer etc
I am unable to isolate which media files are causing this or why. I thought it was the SD card which I added recently but it's a Samsung and should work, plus the problem hasn't disappeared after removing it.
I haven't downloaded any apps since the problem started, or downloaded any media files. I have no games on the phone. A little music, Spotify premium (force stop and now disabled by safe mode), 50 photos. Before the mediaserver problem started about a week ago, battery lasted 1 1/2 days at least. I'm not a heavy user of online media (bit of YouTube but never download or watch movies on my phone).
I have googled quite a bit without finding a solution. I have an MS Exchange mail account which I set to manual sync. Works fine. I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?
I can't stop sync deleting past calendar entries. Using torch 9800 and OS6 2949 with outlook 2007. I tried configuring for hours but syncing still comes up trying to delete entries more than few months old, which I want to keep. I tried 'upcoming entries only' (then it wants to delete over 1000 entries!!) and can't get the 'advanced' filters option to make any difference.
1) When I delete email messages using my pc (aol) they remain on my iPhone (also aol) and the same is true in reverse. How can I delete from both simultaneously?
2) Where/how on my iphone can I store various passwords.
I'm trying to delete a large message thread on my iPhone 5s. It's been there for a few years without being cleaned. Every time I try to delete it, my phone gets really hot and my messages app doesn't work. When I restart my phone, the message thread I tried to delete is still there and the messages app works again.
