I use gmail for my email accounts and there are times when I try and delete and email from my bb using the delete and/or the delete from handheld and on the server function.but the email doesn't delete from the handheld. Is there a reason for this?

I am heading out on a cruise next week and i was hoping to easily turn off my primary email accounts, but leave on a secondary one that my office can used only when needed. I am a very heavy email user and at .02 cents a kb, I would need a mortgage to pay for all that email.Will deleting the service books for these accounts stop the email from coming in until I can download all email to my laptop; and then download service books?I am a longtime bb user, but the new BIS interfaces do not have a way to turn specific email accounts on and off like they used to.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am new here so please be kind if I am not up to speed.Looked through a bunch of other threads and have found nothing.My email is being deleted on my 9630 after 1-2 hours if I don't open it.
If I open a message it will be there indefinitely, but if I don't open a message it only stays in the inbox for one to two hours, then just disappears.I come into work in the morning and there are 20 or so unopened emails in my POP3 account, but only one or two on my phone, and none older than an hour or so.
Been testing this and, like clock work, the emails are deleted even though I have not erased or even opened them in my outlook app or on the POP3 server.Has anyone else had this issue Verizon has had me do both soft and hard resets of the phone with no solution.Maybe I got a special "Tiger Woods Edition 9630"?
I used the Email Settings to delete two email addresses I used to use from my Blackberry.The folders are now gone and the email addresses do not show up under Email Settings any longer.HOWEVER, when I go to my messages folder under Options then Inbox Settings,I still see those email addresses just with the Check Box checked off from them under Email Accounts.Is there a way to delete these from this list?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently have my BlackBerry Tour configured for three seperate email accounts. The first two are working just fine. I just noticed this this morning that for the third, messages that I have read appear to be disappearing from the device. I've checked in Options and it appears that I have plenty of available space (101680072 bytes free) unless I am misreading what that number represents.
For example, I've read and responded to probably 10 emails from this account today. The emails that I read early this morning no longer show in the inbox, however the sent item for the response that I sent still does. The only items that still appear in the inbox are items that have arrived in the last 2 - 3 hours, anything prior to that, including ALL emails that I have received since setting up the account a few weeks ago are gone. The only thing that is visible for those dates are my sent items.
I had seen another thread in which someone had stated that rebooting by removing the battery might correct the issue but I tried that and it did not. I've included my settings for the email account in question below. I don't use any type of third party sync application, what the heck is going on here and how do I fix it?

I woke up this morning to find my entire contact list deleted from the Contacts application, however when I open an email or an SMS, all of the contact information is there for that particular person. When I look at the call log, the information is also there.I have a backup done on Friday (yesterday) on Outlook at my office (not on work server since they all use IPhones for that. I prefer my blackberry so I use the non-server syncing)...is there another way to get this information back or do I need to wait to resync on Monday?
I had a lot of apps on there that I don't use, so I deleted the off this morning to help get some memory back. I haven't yet done a battery pull on my phone...will doing one affect anything or should I just do it to help clear the memory up and make room for contacts?

One question that I can't seem to find the answer to is deleting my browser history. What I need to know is how do I erase the cookies from all the sites that I've been to?

I've noticed that emails stick around for a month or so before being deleted, but SMS don't delete. It's been set to 15 days since I got it in September, and I still have every SMS sent/received on it
Is this a known bug? Is there a fix for it other than hope it's fixed in the next OS release?
I have noticed this multiple times now that random contacts are missing from my address book. Today I got a call from my mother and her contact info was gone as well! I haven't installed any new apps and I haven't gone through and wiped out any of my other old contacts.
I am running .591 and I know that's an oops. Good thing for Verizon's backup assistant! I was able to get the numbers back online.
I've read a couple tips on how to delet call logs and while they have worked, I'm still not able to delete the call history that you find when you press the green call key.I've gone into messages, gone into view folder, and selected phone call logs.fter I've pressed delete prior and my call history is gone. However, I still can't figure out how to delet the history I find by pressing that green button
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince installing os 5 on my Verizon 9630, my text messages are being deleted after 2 days even though I am not deleting them. Texts older than 2 days no longer appear when I click on SMS/MMS on my home screen. Is there a setting I dont know about? When I was running 4.7 all my text messages appeared until I manually deleted them.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSearched around for a bit, and most threads on this topic seem to be related to using BES.I had a Curve up until last week. When I delete messages in Outlook on my PC (standard POP mailbox, not Exchange), they would usually disappear from my BB within 30 minutes. Now I upgraded to a Tour last week and this is not happening, I have to delete in both places. I'm sure it is just a simple setting I am missing but can't find where it should be. I do have the reconciliation: on conflicts: set to Mailbox wins.
Other then this, really enjoying the Tour. I'll be going overseas next month so we'll see how well Verizon handles that.

Where did all the apps go and how do I get them back, or can I restore the old folder? The online message says the apps are moved to the bottom of the home screen but my home screen doesn't have any apps, only folders.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSomehow I lingered over the delete too long or something and the confirm came up for one of my contacts. I rolled down to cancel, but after I clicked it jumped back up to delete and removed my contact. Currently, I do not have a back up of my database as it has been a bit more difficult than with my last phone and computer. Let's face it.... I've been procrastinating in tacking the project!
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve this contact? I figure the info still has to be somewhere on the phone..
if i delete an email on my handheld it does not delete from my actual gmail account. in fact, it doesnt even say that its read. well, on the computer next to inbox it doesnt say any are new, but when i look at the inbox, i still have the emails and it shows them bolded like they were not read at all. when i delete on my bb, nothing happens to gmail. i tried deleting my gmail address from my phone, resending service books, battery pulls but none of that has resolved. i made sure that handheld wins was set to on under wireless reconciliation and in the VZW BIS control/email settings i have it set to sync deleted emails.
i tried fooling around with the contact sync a few days ago but stopped it becaues it wasnt working (this is the only new thing ive done with my bb in the last week or so). i also downoaded the new socialbeat app from verizon/iskoot. but other than that nothing is new in the last few days. i am running driphters 6.3 on top of whatever OS its supp to be installed on (.484 i think?). dont just jump to that as the problem because i have had it for almost a month and have not had a problem until now (that i tried that stupid contact sync bullsht).
I got my first BlackBerry a couple of months ago, the Tour 9630 with Verizon, which I've loved to far, except. Last week I created a couple of ring tones from two mp3 files and downloaded them in my BlackBerry without setting up with any feature, but they set themselves up as regular ring tones and I cannot stop them from playing now!
Since the day after I downloaded them, every time I've received a new e-mail, I've gotten my regular ring tone (GungHo) and then custom ring tone #1 starts playing and is unstoppable unless I completely turn off the BlackBerry! So I deleted it from the My Ring Tones folder, but that hasn't changed a thing. I've tried to change my regular e-mail ring tone and the change got implemented, so I get the new ring tone I've just set, but I still get custom ring tone # 1 right after! And it is almost 1 minute long!
Other weird thing, custom ring tone # 2 has started playing every time I hang up my phone! Who needs that?! I haven't deleted that one yet from the My Ring Tones folder because I'm not sure if that'll help, but this is extremely frustrating.
I am unable to setup my gmail account because I don't see the 'I want to create or add an email address' option button in the email setup screen..The setup screen only displays 'I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server'
Is there a way to add the 'I want to create or add an email address' to the email setup screen.?Do I need to flash the os? how do I do that?
Is there any way to delete all the old deleted emails from the trash folder all at once or can it only be done one at a time?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt's set to delete on Handheld and Mailbox (mailbox wins). When the user deletes the message on the BB, the message deletes in Outlook. When he deletes a message in his Outlook Inbox, it won't delete. The message will finally delete after being deleted from the deleted folder in Outlook, however, it's supposed to delete when cleared from the inbox.
