Jun 17, 2010I'm an E72 user and I'm not happy with the phone. I'm using the 031.023 FW. I'm using Google Mail, Nimbuzz and Ovi Contacts mainly. I also have google search installed and running in background. I used to have MfE but removed that account because I thought it is the problem that slows the phone however I'm getting random stalls. If I have 2-3 programs open at the same time, theres a very high chance of phone stalling for 1-2 mins. I can get back to homescreen but I cant access the applications running. When I type a number, phone lags a lot. I have like 450 contacts but It was a lot faster when I was using a WinMo phone previously. Do u have such issues ? I did a hard reset before installing the firmware and all software installs are on the memory card. Any options?

My previous phone was a trusty 6230i so this is bit of step up for me!So far I've found I can upgrade the firmware to 31. but not 40. I would consider debranding the phone if this is recommended.

Jun 29, 2010I am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call.Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.

And if so, does he need to use DFU mode or can he simply click on the custom file and restore? Jul 24, 2010Got the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...

May 6, 2010I updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.
