i have serious problems after i have updated my 5800 with fw 40.0.005 the phone crashes or hanging with the alarm clock function. Is there any solution to solve this problem?
View 6 RepliesI am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call.Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.

It never did this before.I thought it might be loose battery connections so put in some thin card etc but no help. Seems to be fine when on my desk during the day, but as soon as its put into my pocket and walked about then many times it switches off. Am getting no help from Nokia Care. Anyone out there got any suggestions?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy 5800 sometimes freezes when I hang up after a call (or actually when I try to hang up). The phone freezes in the call screen and the phone is partially responsive because I get a reaction from the vibrator when I'm pressing "Hang up" (sometimes it freezes directly after answering so instead of "hang up" a have frozen "answer" screen). And another thing: I can call to my 5800 from another phone when it is frozen, I hear tones in the calling phone, but my 5800 is not notifying of this.
The only solution is to restart the phone. I've had my 5800 since v11 of the firmware through v20 (and v30?) and now the most recent v40 firmware. The problem persist and it freeze call screen has acted the same in all versions. This should have been fixed by now! Calling is a basic function of a phone (!), I wouldn't care too much if it froze when I played a third party game or something. But now it is basic functionality that doesn't work. If I have the music player and podcast application (downloading) and call comes in and then the phone freezes I would understand. But I cannot accept it when it happens to an idle phone with no open applications.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.
While I'm listening to songs, sometimes when a song finishes, the player get hang. This also happens when I try to play another song while another song is already playing. I can use the phone by pressing the Red button but still the player doesn't work. This was not happening when handset was new. What is wrong with my cell? I do not want to get is formatted as I'll need to install all custom applications again. Is there any workaround to this? Can I reinstall the music player alone?
View 10 Replies View RelatedOpen facebook via the fb-app. Go, for instance, to an unilad article with a videoclip. Click on the link and a new page opens with a video from youtube. Click the play button and the video starts and no problem. Click the full screen icon and turn the phone to the side and the video maximizes and fills the screen and stops almost immediately. Reset and clear cache for the apps involved and the video (and all other videos for that matter) runs for a minute or so then the phone hangs fully. Have to remove battery as phone is unresponsive. How to look for the reason for this? Videos do not freeze if not maximized. Videos directly on youtube/vimeo does not freeze.

I've recently acquired my first BB, a Curve 9320 and when I linked it to the Desktop Software was enticed into carrying out a firmware upgrade from v7.1 bundle 1319 to v7.1 bundle 2039After automatically running another backup, the upgrade crashed and bricked the device, which has had to be replaced under warranty. The replacement has the original firmware version on it!Should I be tempted to try the upgrade again, or play it safe and keep what I've got?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust updated to new firmware 51.0.006 (RM-356) Nokia 5800 and I dont know whether I am just thinking this but the phone seems faster now in operation (maybe with the firmware update it cleared cahes and whatnot maybe thats all it is) - one of the things that was supposed to be changed in the new firmware is browser changes, but I cannot seem to see any diffrerence the layout still looks the same to me. improved mail for exchange dont affect me because i dont use it, improved video call dont affect me because I dont use that, but they did list improved browser and improved performance so thats good anyway. Whenever I try to switch it on it just pops up with an "unable to perform bluetooth operation. I did the three finger salute (hard reset) but no joy. Anyone know if there is perhaps some other setting that blocks bluetooth? Or is there some more technical way to find out what is failing?

For the moment I have the firmware 30.0.011.When I check with my mobile if there are new updates, then it says there are no new updates available. When I ckeck on the nokia website with my productcode, it says that I can update to the new firmware. When I connect to my PC (Vista Ultimate 64bit), then it finds the new firmware and wants to update my mobile. During the update, it shuts my mobile down and then gives the error message that he can not find the device. So I disconnect my mobile, restart it and reconnect it. After this I choose to try again with locating my mobile, he finds it and starts with updating again till the part where my mobile is turned off again. So I keep getting stuck in this loop.Anybody knows a solution for this?

However, now, when I open my internet browser it automatically opens full screen which is really not my preference. But when I click "options" it just shuts down.Also when I enter Ovi store now, at first it seems fine but after loading an app page it crashes saying no more than "Something went wrong".

I hit them and the alarm just keeps going and going, I have to hit the red menu button and it goes to snooz mode, is there a way to revert back to v31 as I really do not like this newer v40 firmware.
