I have an 5800 XM with type number RM-428 (product code is 0577454) and I canīt upgrade its firmware to the 50.0.005 version. I check in the Nokia Europe home page and I found that this version is aviable for the Nokia 5800 XM. Every day I check on the nokia website looking for the update and nothing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I downloaded Nokia Suite 3.7.22 and I am trying to upgrade to latest firmware version. The website says it should be v.60.0.003 - [URL]. When I run Software Updates in Nokia Suite I get message saying "No updates available" - Your phone has the software version V 52.0.101 installed. I then ran Fiddler and I found out that a request to the following URL is being made and it is not successful: [URL]

I am running Win7 x64 SP1.
My 5800 used to retain battery power for 3-4 days of normal usage until my upgrade to the latest firmware. Firstly the FOTA failed. After restart it popped a "System Error" after"installing..." The Music Player also screwed and used to continously show "Fixing Corrupted Library files..(something like that)". Then i used OVI suite to transfer music and it temporarily fixed the issue. But then i used the USB connection with Nokia Software Updater and reinstalled the firmware. all the problems were fixed. But i observed that the Battery life has now reduced to just about 18 hours!! I am not sure if its indeed the firmware but most likely so. I also did a soft reset without realising that i would lose all the smses and contact data Anway, main issue is batterypower consumption. The Nokia Energy Profiler shows a current consumption of about 170mA. It was same even before the soft reset.

I've been trying without success to install the new firmware update. I've tried re-installing using the Nokia Software Updater, but kept getting Device Recovery errors and the phone turned off and lost its connection. After reading other posts, I did a soft reset on my phone then re-installed the firmware without anymore However, now the phone WON'T TURN ON AT ALL! When I press and hold the Power On/Off button on the top, it makes a buzzing sound, but the screen stays dark and doesn't turn on. Before you ask, the phone battery was fully charged. My 58000 is totally unusuable. How do I get it to power on?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my firmware to V 50.0.005, cause that's what Ovi store told me to do in order to download ovi maps. However, now, when I open my internet browser it automatically opens full screen which is really not my preference. But when I click "options" it just shuts down.Also when I enter Ovi store now, at first it seems fine but after loading an app page it crashes saying no more than "Something went wrong".
I currently have a Nokia 5800 (Product Code: 0575581), which is still stuck on firmware version 31. As such I'm wondering if there is anyway to upgrade, if not I have heard about changing the product code of my device but I have heard from some sources that this will void the warranty, is this true?

The only option I've got from now are "Shortcuts" (4 between applications and favourites) and "Contacts bar". I have tried with hard and soft resets, and it's equal. There is a little problem with the alarm too, but not important.

I recently updated my phone 5800 XpressMusic to latest firmware V 50.0.005 (Customer Version 50.0.005.C03.01) but I am unable to see many changes. The only changes that I notice are - kinetic scrolling, change in the way browser displays the page and music library. Are these the only changes? Is there a way to check officially, what all changes, is this new firmware supposed to bring in?

I have been using Nokia handsets for last 5-7 years, because I like the compatibility & reliability of Nokia phones. But this time Nokia has really disappointed me. I have bought Nokia 5800 XpressMusic on 14th-August-2009 of 16000 INR. I have bought it for that particular feature. But i havn't found any TV-Out cable in the box or such feature in the handset. I have also connected TV-Out cable of Nokia N-95 with it, but its not working. I hope, Nokia will sure make a positive solution for that devices, manufactured without this feature in August-2009 & give the relief to all its owners like me, by replacing it with new one having this feature.

Ever since my 5730 updated itself to the newest firmware (200.12.87), every time I type ANYTHING using the qwerty keyboard (sms, note, etc), I can't rapidly push 2 adjacent keys. eg, F and G, W and E, Y and H, etc etc. I can however rapidly push keys that aren't adjacent, eg R and H, P and A, Y and M, etc. If i do push 2 adjacent keys, only 1 of them registers as it seems nokia have now enforced a key delay if this happensCan't seem to google anything about this problem. I did however have a look at the recently released changelog of this new firmware (http://download.releasenotes.nokia.com/RM-465_core_en-GB.xml). You'll notice a line saying "Enhanced keyboard usability". That's quite a laugh; it's actually gimped keyboard usability. The whole point of having a qwerty keyboard is so I can type fast; and to have a forced a key delay on adjacent keys to "enhance keyboard usability" is just ridiculous. You may ask, how is this a problem.well, try typing words like we're, police, friday, etc, and you'll notice letters missing. This 'enhancement' has ironically turned my phone into a typing annoyance.If you're gonna include such a game-breaking feature like this atleast make an option for your users to turn it off.

i have since transferred a bunch of music from my PC to my phone. however, only about 10% of all albums were able to automatically include the album art. alternatively, i had to manually add the album art for each album - provided if the album art could be found in the gallery. what's curious is that, when connected by usb to my PC, and because adobe photo starter pops up by default for any connected media device of mine, i could see that the album art images, which could not be found in the gallery (and hence unable to be manually added), were very well present somewhere in my phone. clearly, i have trouble locating them. furthermore, whenever i delete an album art image from my gallery, i can kiss the said album art goodbye from the album/music app too. my questions are:
1) where are the album art images which are floating somewhere in my phone/memory card ie. how can i locate them?...........
i purchased a Nokia 5800 Xpress music. After a few moths he started truning off automattically. Sometimes he turns on afterwards, sometimes he does not. It is really very anoiing. Because when I keep my obile phone in my pocket, I don't know If it turned off. I tried to do a complete reset, but that didn't work. Also all updates are installed.

View 11 Replies View Relatedwhen you try to send a normal text message (not mms) it just sits in your outbox? - i have spoken to my service provider and they've ruled out its their network (which i already knew, as i tried my sim card in my husbands mobile and i was able to send txts no problems and we're with the same company and have the same phone).
I've updated the software and my service provider also sms'd me their set up details and it still refuses to send any messages - i can receive messages and i can send MMS (picture) messages, but normal txts just sit in my outbox. My service provider has said they think its an issue with my actual handset but as im one month out of their 12 month warranty cover, if i want it looked it at i have to pay for it , i havent done anything to it (ie dropped it etc) and it was working fine on thursday, the problem only started yesterday afternoon.
I just bought new 5800 mobile phone and I wonder whether I got the correct earphones with it.My supplied earphones model is WH-205.Does Nokia sell some versions of the 5800 packed with that model ?

I wanted to get the free navigation service and and connected my phone to ovi suite for downloading country maps. However, got the following error after clicking on the "update maps" section: Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. this is due to either of the following reasons:
-Your device doesn't support the nokia maps application
- The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
I have a Nokia 5530 and one of my friends had a Nokia 5800. We both have the same problem with our headset we bought (the mrhandsfree Blue twin).we can pair them and this is no problem, we authorise it and again, no problem. It connects with the headset. After a few seconds, the connection is lost without a reason. We can connect it again by pushing the button on the headset, but this starts the voice dial. I want to be able to use voice dial, but only when i want it (normally, it is when you push the heatsetbutton a few seconds).The only way to remain connected with the headset is to play music, it plays through the headset and the connection stays on.When the headset is off and i put it on, the phone can see the headset and connects. It disconnects again after a few seconds.
When we get called, we can't accept the phonecall. the phone just rings, if we push the button on the headset, it connects with the headset and the sound goes perfectly through the headset. If i push the button to pick up, it disconnects the call.Why can't i stay connected with my phone and headset?
I seem to be having some problems using the internet on my phone but I'm not sure if it's the fault of the phone itself or T-Mobile. When I connect either via Wi-Fi or T-Mobile Internet, sometimes it hangs or kicks me off, closing the browser down as it does so, sometimes it doesn't disconnect despite me telling it to, and when using the Windows Live Messenger app it keeps losing the connection.
