As my phone is rooted, I can't update phone through OTA.
There just came a new firmware on Sammobile (May 21) and I downloaded it. If I flash it, will my phone be wiped?
Also, if it do. Is there anything "to do" so I can get everything with it?
I'm from the Philippines and I really can't wait to try black Update on my Lumia 1020 since it is still waiting for approval.
1.Is it ok to flash different country from like APAC PH to APAC SG?
2. Will the Access points on my current cellphone be available on the other firmware (access points on my cellphone are auto generated or it is their by default.)
My last Samsung phone was a note 3, 2 years ago. After that I went through some other non Samsung phones so I wanted to check if this was still the same:
I had bought it through my carrier and then downloaded and flashed the factory unlocked firmware via odin to remove carrier bloat.
Does this still work?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the S6 with 5.0.2 and CSC ITV (AP:G920FXXU1AOCV, CP:G920FXXU1AOCW, CSC:G920FXXU1AOCN). Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?

I tried renegade rom and wanted to go back to stock, but I can't seem to get rid of the boot/splash image it puts when you turn on your phone.
Is there something special I need to do when I flash stock firmware with odin?
Also, as I have sprint, should I be selected RTN for sprint? I had done that, was that bad?
It seems telling twrp to do advanced wipe of system and a bunch of other stuff that apparently is not normally wiped did it.
Im trying to update my firmware through kies, but it just stops at around 13% done for ages and then tells me the operation has timed out.

If finds the update available for the device and shows windows to update firmware. The new/latest update version available is PDA-KL1/PHONE:KL1/CSC:KL1(INU) After clicking to update, it downloads the update and goes into next step of "Preparing firmware update components", but then the process terminates after few seconds and nothing happens. The phone reconnects to kies s/w and again the firmware upgrade window is shown. So cannot update the firmware.

The catch being that he forgot his Samsung credentials, so he couldn't log in, and therefore is selling the phone to make up for his stupidity.Before buying it, she checked the IMEI and its clear, along with the fact that the guy had all the original stuff that came with it, and it was almost brand new.
Now my question is, how can I bypass this? How can everything be erased for this isn't an issue? I've odined it to a fresh ROM, even Nand Erase All, but its still stuck with it. I know previous versions there was ways around it, but I can't seem to find one with this.Currently running AT&T build G920AUCU2AOF3, which I believe is 5.0.2.
I dropped my phone and cracked the screen and now the screen is all black. I went through insurance and received my new phone. I've deactivated the old phone and activated my new phone. I've been reading other responses for a similar problem but it seems like most of them have not activated the new phone yet and were able to wipe the phone using the Android Device Manager. Since I've already activated my new phone, if I use ADM it finds my new phone and not my old phone.
Is there a way to wipe the data off of the old phone with a broken screen after I've already activated my new phone?
I got my verizon galaxy s5 stolen last week Monday and I'm wondering if there's any way to locate and wipe the phone? I know it's been over a week, but any way to locate and wipe the phone?
Last Monday night, I called the phone not too long after it was stolen and it went straight to voicemail. Later that night I suspended service. I went ahead and called the insurance I have for the phone and got another s5 delivered on Wednesday for a $99 deductible. I activated the phone that evening and it's been working fine since then.
I tried installing android device manager app on my new s5 and it wasn't able to locate my stolen s5 and my current s5.
I have a strange problem on my G920T that's been bugging me for a while. After flashing a custom ROM, my EFS was messed up. I had backed it up prior to any custom ROMs. All works well n the phone except whenever it's rebooted it fails to register to T-Mobile's network.
So I have to bring up the dialer, type in *#2263# and choose Band Selection, then LTE, then LTE All (which is already asterisked) and tap it again. Only then will it register on the network and then works fine. I've tried everything under the sun including restoring EFS backup, flashing back to stock, etc., to no avail.
Any script that automatically runs the above process after reboot. I don't know enough to do so, and I'm not sure one exists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have followed these steps: Generated CDA. Nordic language! Then followed these steps! Upload "customize_upgrade.xml" to your phone and make the CDA change. So you have generated the file and you want to get on with it? Well I'll make this as short as possible.
1. Open A2uploader.
2. Click "FileSystem Tool". Re-insert the battery of your phone then connect your USB holding '2+5' keys. Release keys '2+5' when A2uploader detects your phone.
3. Browse to "/tpa/preset/custom/". Drag and drop the "customize_upgrade.xml" file to the right pane of A2uploader.
4. Click "Shutdown FS Manager".
5. Disconnect USB cable and turn on phone. You will notice a "Please Wait" prompt. This is when the CDA is changing. When the prompt is gone, turn off your phone.
But SEUS cannot find any new firmware still? What revision should the the Customize upgrade be?

When I heard about the nightmares of lollipop (especially on VZW) I told her to avoid the update. Now, she's telling me that she was just forced to pick a time today for her to update, and at 5 pm tonight it will do it. Is there anything she can do to stop this update? I told her to check in about phone but she said nothing relevant is there. How can they force you into an update that breaks your phone?
View 6 Replies View Relatedafter i had updated my n97. most problems temporarily went away for about 1-2 weeks. now my phone cannot answer calls. cannot play music through the loud speaker. alarm does not work. basically anything that has to do with sound does not work. it shows that my phone has headphones connected but there is none connected. i formated the phone, did a hard reset, re installed the latest software and still the problem continues. after having nokias for the past 10 years. i am happy to say that i will never purchase another nokia again. nokiaz flagship phone has drove most of thier loyal customers away. the n97 is one of the worst phones ive ever had with respect to software

I can't hardly use Nokia Maps and whatsapp at the same time. I had to uninstall whatsapp during the last trip I was using Nokia Maps.

When i click on Menu and then 'Photos', Menu disappears and im going back to the Home screen (idle), of course tried switching off and on, removing the battery, nothing helps. Then i found out that 'Photos' can only be opened in horizonal mode (opening the keyboard). In horizonal mode i can click Menu and then Photos, the 'Photos' is opened perfectly. (switching back to vertical seems ok, Photos stays open)

View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this bug has been reported, but after successfully installing the latest firmware for my E5, I cannot get rid of the "WLAN scanning off" homescreen application on my screen yes, I have tried the following: menu --> settings--> general -->personalization -->standby mode --> homescreen applications --> unchecked the WLAN option (there's Calendar,WLAN, AIEMailPlugin and Contact Bar) . But the absurd "WLAN Scanning off" is still displayed out there in my screen This only occurs to the Contact Bar standby mode, no problems with Active/Vertical/horizontal/etc mode
