View 9 Replies View RelatedI am very new to Android OS and I have just recently purchased SGS2. I have been trying to read as much as I can but I can not understand it.Where do I actually start? Rooting, Firmware upgrade? Custom GingerBread? customise the battery to last longer? able to install cool apps available? able to connect and optimise Wi-fi feature

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to upgrade to Android 4 (ICS) using Kies Air. I can connect my S2 to my PC using WiFi but I cannot see any link nto upgrade. When I try using KIES and USB to link to PC no connection is ever made.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a Galaxy S2 since launch from Vodafone UKIm trying to upgrade to KE7 using the KIES program from samsung, however i get this message when trying to upgrade to new firmware
View 4 Replies View RelatedKies (2.3.2.12064_9) stated that a firmware upgrade was available so I started the process. The files were downloaded and the connection to the phone established. All seemed to be going to plan. Then the phone dropped out of Kies and is trying to reconnect. The computer flashed up a message that the device was not recognised. The phone is still attached to the USB and has the android icon with downloading...do not turn off t Is the phone already disconnected..?What should I do to recover? Can I recover?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed since the upgrade to ICS the battery full tone has stopped working. BTW only had the phone a week and the upgrade arrived a day ago. I've also noticed that the stock home switcher is now missing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedKies tells me I have a firmware upgrade - from the size of download it seems quite major - but it won't install.Initially I found Norton was blocking it and quite proudly telling me so. I ended up uninstalling Norton but having gone through all the steps and downloading the files my PC does not get past 0% on "Firmware upgrade progress" and the mobile just displays a little green android with the message "Downloading . . . Do not turn off target".

View 22 Replies View RelatedMy last Samsung phone was a note 3, 2 years ago. After that I went through some other non Samsung phones so I wanted to check if this was still the same:
I had bought it through my carrier and then downloaded and flashed the factory unlocked firmware via odin to remove carrier bloat.
Does this still work?
As my phone is rooted, I can't update phone through OTA.
There just came a new firmware on Sammobile (May 21) and I downloaded it. If I flash it, will my phone be wiped?
Also, if it do. Is there anything "to do" so I can get everything with it?
I have the S6 with 5.0.2 and CSC ITV (AP:G920FXXU1AOCV, CP:G920FXXU1AOCW, CSC:G920FXXU1AOCN). Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?

I tried renegade rom and wanted to go back to stock, but I can't seem to get rid of the boot/splash image it puts when you turn on your phone.
Is there something special I need to do when I flash stock firmware with odin?
Also, as I have sprint, should I be selected RTN for sprint? I had done that, was that bad?
It seems telling twrp to do advanced wipe of system and a bunch of other stuff that apparently is not normally wiped did it.
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want a state of the art android phone with a physical keyboard, that a poor college student can afford the plan for. (I'm on PagePlus using the $30/month for 1200 min, 1200 texts, and 50mb data.) That leaves me choosing between the Droid 2 and the Samsung Epic 4G. I prefer the Epic because of the super 16gb micro SD. My current phone is a Samsung, and it's served me well for about 2 years now despite being dropped all the time
Question: Can I flash a Galaxy S Sprint Epic 4G onto Verizon to use PagePlus? I know Sprint uses CDMA, which leads me to believe the Epic could work on Verizon's network (which PagePlus uses), but beyond that I'm clueless. Can anyone tell me if this is possible or not, and if so, where to look for more information?
my SGSII losing its capability of using 2/3G networks - (i.e. no green and red arrows). I can connect to wireless networks but that's it, which is pretty frustrating when I'm out and about in town, out of range of wifi, and want to check something on the Internet, etc.So now I'm faced with the unwelcome prospect of sending my phone back to Vodafone to get repaired which means 10 working days without my phon? would flashing my SGSII bring back my 2/3G capability? If this was the case, then I'd obviously do it, and be saved from sending my phone away for 2 weeks. Currently I am on Stock ROM, 2.3.3?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I wanted to flash an official rom, should I unroot my phone first?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was recently trying to root my galaxy s5 (At&T, G900A) on android lollipop and so first I wanted to downgrade to kitkat for root and decided to do so with odin. I followed some instructions online and when I tried to follow the instructions it kept failing in Odin; so I've decided not to go through with the root and wanted to get back to stock lollipop, but when I restart the phone I get the error message "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." But when I plug my s5 in and open kies it always gives me the message "this device isn't supported by kies" and I have the newest version (Kies 3).
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirmware used was I9100XXKP4_I9100OXAKP4 via the sam mobile site.I used Odin3 and although the download had 7 files, I only used the CSC, MODEM and code files.

S 2 firmware I'm looking for some help i have just had my phone replaced after it was stolen. I'm wanting to updated the firmware with Kies but it says.your current device's firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies.
current firmware version: PDA:LPJ / PHONE:LPJ / CSC:LPJ (XXX)
I updated my Firmware using Kies and everything seemed to have gone smoothly until i started using the phone. I now have the following issues;
1 Pink spot on camera that wasnt there before
2 My phonebook keeps crashing and my buddy widgets for the phonebook also resets
3 SMS crashes as well
I thought it was suppost to be a fix. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have upgraded the firmware!
samsung galaxy s ii a month ago and i noticed 2 bugs (i hope not faults).the first bug is the notorious pink spot.even after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.the second bug and the most annoying is the fps drop.in low light conditions (and i mean inside or night),when autofocusing, the fps drop dramatically, like in this video (http://www.Internet.com/watch?=wkqe_62ee6y).again,after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.i really don`t know what to do.i searched various websites and forums and the only "solution" i found is for the pink spot [the solution is updating to ke7,but my version is kj4 (the latest in my country and above ke7)],but still no luck with that.

View 9 Replies View Relatedmy brother has an S2 with out-of-the-box, custom ROM, not ever flashed or rooted, etc. He has just been told he has to work in Spain for the forseeable futre but wants to come home at weekends. He also wants to keep his S2.
If he roots and flashes his phone, will he be able to buy a Spanish SIM from any Spanish network for use in Spain, and just replace it with his own SIM when he comes back here? In other words, does a root and flash of a phone make it fully internationally unlocked so that he doesn't get any extra charges from either Spanish or UK networks?
I have a problem with my calendar, syncing with MS Exchange. When i have a meeting in Outlook with a long description text, i'm not able to see the full text on the phone. Here is a greatly simplified example:'ve tried to look in account settings for my active sync account, but there appear to be no setting for adjusting the amount of data getting synced.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPC is running Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 (64bit version) I have Kies version is 2.0.2.11071_128, The upgrade starts ok and runs until the phone displays 'Downloading...' at which point I get the message 'PC failed to recognise the mobile phone.' and says to disconnect phone, remove battery, restart phone and try again. This i have done several times but the same thing happens every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI accepted doing it, so it backed-up some of my data and started the installation. The progress bar remained at 0% for more than 40 minutes and I became suspicious that it was not working. I tried interrupting with the cancel button and that didn't work, so the only way was to remove the cable (yes there were warnings not to do it... still I assumed that this scenario would have been foreseen). Kies woke up with the interruption and asked if I wanted to do an emergency firmware recovery, I said yes and proceeded with it. It gave me some instructions to switch off the phone, replace battery, and remove the cable. I switched the phone off and on again and there appeared a symbol representing the loss of connection to the PC, so I re-connected. The recovery started fine, but half way through it, it failed due to a problem on the phone. Since then the phone is dead. It won't start anymore.
