Samsung Galaxy S II :: How To Do A Full Unlock For International Use

my brother has an S2 with out-of-the-box, custom ROM, not ever flashed or rooted, etc. He has just been told he has to work in Spain for the forseeable futre but wants to come home at weekends. He also wants to keep his S2.
If he roots and flashes his phone, will he be able to buy a Spanish SIM from any Spanish network for use in Spain, and just replace it with his own SIM when he comes back here? In other words, does a root and flash of a phone make it fully internationally unlocked so that he doesn't get any extra charges from either Spanish or UK networks?

I set a screen lock code today and used it several time with no problems. Tonight the unlock screen shows 'Enter Password to Unlock' but when I enter the pin code, it will not unlock.

I am trying to unlock my phone so I can use it internationally. I called AT&T and they said they couldn't unlock it and that I need to contact the phone manufacturer. Anyone have any idea how I can obtain an unlock code from RIM?

how do i view websites in full like i do on my pc and not as mobile websites. i am trying to view ebay site but i keep getting the mobile version. i have even tried to type in the full ebay site address [URL] in the address bar but it still defaults to the mobile version site. same with facebook.

I have a problem with my calendar, syncing with MS Exchange.When i have a meeting in Outlook with a long description text, i'm not able to see the full text on the phone.Here is a greatly simplified example:'ve tried to look in account settings for my active sync account, but there appear to be no setting for adjusting the amount of data getting synced.

I can't make incoming/outgoing calls or send receive SMS on my phone (I get the 'Not Registered on Network' message). Interestingly there is about a 5 second window right after I turn on/off Airplane mode I can send/receive SMS and make a phonecall - the phonecall will last as long as I want, but when I hang up I'm back to square one!I have no data connectivity I can connect to WiFi etc.I have full reception i.e. full bars My phone is not blacklisted (I checked IMEI with network operator)Other SIM card won't work on my phone My SIM card works on another phone When I go into settings to select mobile network I am 'Unable to connect. Try later'i have reset the APN settings

When watching any video on my S2 (either downloaded or streaming) the video itself is very small in the centre of the screen. This wasn't always the case with it though. I think I must have dozed off watching something the other evening, leaving my finger on the screen, and now the "video ratio" icon that should be on the bar with the play, rwd and ffwd icons is no longer there!
Whatever I try, I cannot get the icon back or reset the video to maximise itself on screen.

i love my new galaxy s2 but i want one more thing... i want to be able to play a full blueray movie on it and output it to my projector in full 1080p.I know there is a file limitation of 4 gb for android. is there a Rom or a work around to format my removable sdcard to a different file system so i can play the movies?

I've noticed since the upgrade to ICS the battery full tone has stopped working. BTW only had the phone a week and the upgrade arrived a day ago. I've also noticed that the stock home switcher is now missing.

Ive got a new Galaxy S2 and after using it for a few days I now have a voice telling the weather and the time on the screen everytime I unlock the phone. What did I press to get it and how do I delete or mute it? I have not dowloaded any new apps. I only have the ones on the phone so far.

Just got a samsung galaxy s2 earlier today. Unfortunately, it is locked to the O2 network and I need it on the orange network.Learning via google, I have rooted the phone, and tried the 'Galaxy S2 sim unlock' application to find the unlock code but it came back with the following message 'cannot find unlock code' Just wondering is there something I have done wrong? Also have an annoying yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that comes up every time the phone is rebooted.

i have recently changed from O2 to three and taken my number with me. I have requested, and received an unlock code for my S2, which I plan to sell, however, the instructions say: "Insert another network active sim in the handset. This should ask for a code. Input 8 digit unlock code when requested." But when I try another active sim, (I have tried both Three and Orange), it does not ask for a code

I am having issue where phone will not come out of lock screen. Buttons light but screen stays black. I can reboot and use phone so I know it is not hardware. I can still blindly touch screen and maybe get past lock but stays black til I reboot.

I've been looking for the solution for this for a long time and have not been able to find an answer. Here is my issue: I have a Touch Enabled game that works perfectly well on other touch devices (including Samsung SPH-M800/M810), but not on the newer Samsung Touch Devices A867 onwards.I add the JAD attribute: MIDlet-Touch-Support: True and it removes the Virtual D-Pad, but I am left with an 80 pixel high gray bar at the bottom. I have tried painting specifically to that area with no effect, I've tried set FullScreen(true) in my Canvas class but it doesn't do much.I can't seem to find a way to get rid of this gray bar. Have any of you come across is and solved it?If so, how?

Sometimes when I need to reboot/reset my i760 (Winmob 6.1, Spb Shell) it will not finish the boot cycle. I turn it on, I get the Samsung logo, the dark blue static Verizon wireless screen, then it about a half a second into the next screen (where the Verizon wireless logo "floats" down to a light blue screen) the system powers off. You can just see the red check in the logo start to draw and head down and the system just goes off.I thought I had solved it by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds, but now that doesn't fix the problem anymore. The only way to make the phone power on is to connect it to a power source (charger or cradle). Then it powers on normally.It does not matter the charge on the battery at the moment - I've had it do it any charge level, including 100% just off a overnight charge. This battery will normally last me 2 days of hard use.Any ideas?

After about an hour of searching I think I finally Found the right USB drivers, and I haven't tried it yet but from past experience. Anyway I am assuming That I could use PC Studio to connect it to my PC, What else do I need to know, any advice would help out. Its on sprints network right now.
